The staffs are cordial...and process is very systematic.
At first they will create a coupon for you,then you have to wait at the waiting area.
Then when you can see your token no. Just go to that respective counter.
They will check your documents and take the original passport.
After that you have to pay your visa charges.
Then they will ask you to wait for some time, then they will give you all your documents in a packet to go for biometric.
Then you can leave.
There is a toilet and drinking water facility inside.
The bad thing I felt that they didn't take my photos which I have taken with me.
Instead they told me to get a photo at their studio, which charged 150 INR but very low quality printing and bad photo.
They can also do photocopy charges at INR 4 per page.
P.S. Don't Carry any electronic gadgets, ( except your mobile phone) as they will not allow it inside.

Had my visa appointment for UK student visa on 6th July 2022 and had a really good experience at their office..I had purchased their premium lounge access and therefore didn't had to wait long.Their staff were very cordial and polite and assisted me to scan and upload all the required documents in the vfs portal. One of the employees directly took me to the 4th floor where they have their premium lounge service and it just took around 15-20 minutes for me to get all my documents verified and get my biometric done. I was even offered for refreshments like tea/coffee and received a complimentary Lebara UK SIM card by them🙂. Thank you for the great service!!!

My experience was extremely awesome. We reached the reception half an before the appointment time allotted to us. We waited for fifteen minutes and was directed towards the office. We checked in after being scanned for security reasons. Our extra baggage was safe in the locker, no eatables or water to be carried into the main office. We need to submit our documents as per the checklist. After submission of the documents, the biometrics were done and that is it. You get your receipt and you wait for the VISA to enjoy your trip to the foreign country.
The entire process was smooth and hassle free. Staff was good and cooperative to make you feel comfortable.I loved this experience..

Service is fine but they have started to cheat peopel by taking rs.100 for any item which we have to left before entering in the office

I went here for my student visa application. I would like to give you some informational tips....
Direction - if your are coming from Lalgola line and going via train then drop at Shealdah station. Then take a train to Barasat junction. From barasat station take a bus (15 rupee) or auto (12 rupee) to gitanjali stadium. Now getting of at the bus stop and start to walk back straight( 2 minute) to the direction you came from to Rene Tower. Yep you are now at your destination!

I have submitted my documents here on 27th June 2023. I will update my review shortly after I get the result regarding my visa! ☺

Edit - I got my student visa approved and delivered to my home address on 25th July. 🤗

Had a seamless experience throughout the process . However , would like to highlight few things to ensure efficiency for people visiting for the first time .
1. Do not reach early as they can’t accommodate more than 15 minutes windows time .
2. Even phone charger and cigarettes are forbidden, was surprised how did they allow visitors with cellphone but not charger and cigarettes.
They however have locker facilities available at 4th floor and charges are 200 INR.

Overall people behind the counter are Keen and love to assist applicants in best possible way .

I would personally like to applaud the gentleman (my bad , couldn’t recall his name )who assisted me with everything and ensured that I have all the documents in place , biometric done and proper receipt for all the services charged are mentioned on the receipt .

I had visited this place in 9 th February 2023. They are the nicest people you can ever find. There was one security guard at the entrance of Rene Tower. Then there was another one on the ground floor. Both of them were super helpful, friendly and professional. They let us use the lift to get to the fifth floor of the mall.
After exiting the lift, there were many security guards on the fifth floor. All of them were super friendly and helping. Then I entered the grand VFS VAC for my italy visa application. It was just wonderful and breathtaking. I was attended by a lady at counter 1 and a gentleman at counter 2. Both of them were lovely, and made me feel comfortable first. Then they explained the formalities and were also eager to clear any of my queries.
The madam who took my biometrics was also friendly and put me at ease. All in all, it was a wonderful and efficient experience.

Vfs global is one stop centre for UK Ireland visa at 5th flr of Rene Tower. Plenty of experienced stuffs to assist you during the process although the queues are too long, Waiting time for Ireland is bit more than UK. Always I've a good experience overall.

Appointment date : 5th April 2023, VFS Kolkata

Bag : I carried my laptop bag (nothing inside, except file for my documents) with me. At the building entrance, no questions asked. Once inside the VFS office, they asked if i carried laptop/pendrive etc, they checked if i was carrying anything else other than my documents.

Wanted to share my experience as there was a lot of confusion regarding this topic.

Staffs are well behaved and very helpful .But the tracking no. they gave me ,till it is showing the message that I received on the appointment date. I applied for PORTUGAL tourist visa on 16th January 2023,but till now I can not receive visa. Please let me know what to do from my end?

I applied for Thailand visa from here. All the processes went so smoothly. The present staff are good and well behaved as my experience. I didn't run into any problems. Find out in advance what documents you will need for your visa over the phone at VFS Global's office or from the website. Photo you take from your local studio according to visa guidelines. Taking photos from there will cost you a lot of money. So take photos from local studios.

On entering the building, there's a dedicated reception-cum-checking area on the ground floor. Your VFS appointment letter, the email and your passport gets checked here. There is a small waiting section just beside this area where people can wait. I think it's for people who accompany the applicant(s) on that day.

The applicant can then take the dedicated VFS elevator to the 4th / 5th floor as per the instructions given at the ground floor reception counter. For the German visa, it's the 5th floor.

There's a second and final level checking (with the same docs) at the reception on the 5th floor. If you carry any additional items (for me, it was the iPad) you will be redirected to the locker facility on the 4th floor. The locker costs ₹200 for the entire day, payable via UPI / Card.

So back to the 5th floor and you'll be given a token and allowed entry. Inside the 5th floor, there are multiple counters and the Casa Italia office - for premium customers. Since I availed premium, my documents and biometrics were done at the premium lounge, while the payment was at a normal counter.

My Student Visa appointment was over within 1 hour. VFS has a pretty streamlined process with premium (inclusive) facilities such as photocopying and instant passport photo. Definitely, a 5🌟 experience.

We applied for a switzerland visa for a relative using VFS kolkata. Brithi Barman assisted us throughout and was extremely helpful, polite, efficient and friendly. We availed of the premium lounge service and everything was seamless. We were in and out in under 1 hour. Highly recommended.

We were struggling to send our passports to the VFS office via Bluedart and in the end we visited the VFS office physically. All the staff were very respectful with their approach and supported us with quick resolution. They even ensured to call me back to ask if the issue was resolved. I am very happy with their service.

Staff proves what a courtesy is, lady named Anamika walks the floor and extremely helpful, need to leave laptop and other electronics (except phones) on 4th floor and rhey charge Rs 400. They do have system in case you miss anything or you want to fill up a new form, even can take prints. Biometrics done quickly once your docs are checked and they are as per checklist. Overall good staff.

I’m not being vain but with all humility and the nature of my work, I can take this liberty to make a statement that these guys are one of the best in the entire travel/immigration/visa approval environment. The culture which persists at the cove is unrivalled and one of its kind. What humility, ethics and courteousness; it’s remarkable. What’s even more profoundly encouraging and worthwhile to mention is the speed with which they do the work even though they’re hard pressed. Honestly, i was scared after reading reviews here. Today(30/05) was my biometrics appointment date for UK visa and entire process was hassle free. Shweta(@counter 5) was helpful and answered to all my queries patiently. Overall had a great experience. Thank you VFS, Kolkata.

Too much convinient process it was. I went there for the Biometrics for canada visa and it went very well. The staffs all over there were very helpful. I have taken the regular process of biometrics and not the premium one. Also i have to pay zero amount as i have already paid the Biometrics fee while uploading the visa. The whole process took mostly about 25-30 mins of time. At last they also provided me a complementary sim card of canada which will definitely help me a lot. Overall a great experience it was.

I had my German Student Visa Appointment on 5th July at 1pm for a Master's Student. I had a great experience, and I'll list all the details of my experience so that students like me will know what to expect!

• Firstly, arrive at least 30 minutes prior to your appointment. You may enter the building even if you're too early. At the front desk, they check your appointment letter and passport, and approve you to head to the vfs floors (4th & 5th floor) 15 minutes prior to your timing. So, I waited till 12:45 before heading up.
• 5th floor is for UK and Europe Visa applications as per my knowledge so I got off at 5th. Your appointment letter is checked one more time and you get your TOKEN NUMBER, after which you may enter the premises.
• Once inside, take a seat and keep an eye out for your token number which will be displayed and announced on tv screens, along with the counter number alloted to you. I had to wait about 40 minutes before my number came up.
• At the counter, the lady officer asked for my appointment letter, passport and the checklist. Upon verification, she returned the passport and letter, handed me a courier form to fill out, and returned the checklist instructing me to arrange two sets of all documents as per checklist sequence AND to make sure that: 1) all academic documents are arranged in descending order (Bachelor's, 12th, 10th, additionals), 2) cover letter and letter of motivation is signed, 3) the checklists in both the sets should be the last document.
• I had everything arranged already so I filled out the courier form (included sms update as well) and handed her the form along with both sets of documents. I had additional documents like affidavit of sponsorship, ITRs, parents' bank acc statements, letter of accommodation, etc. and she asked me to remove everything outside of the checklist and said "everything strictly according to checklist" (Note: if you have blocked account confirmation, no other financial proof needed)
• I removed additional documents and handed her the two sets, along with passport. She asked for 3 biometric photos, I gave them and she approved. I was expecting questions but she just asked me 3 things - where have I been staying last 6 months, do I work, whether I'm going for Master's. That's it!
• Then she asked me how I ll pay, I said demand draft and she said that won't work as they only accept cash or card. I could swear I've seen multiple videos and read stories of demand draft being very important and vfs only accepting demand draft, so I was surprised to learn they don't accept it. Luckily, I carried cash with me so I opted for cash.
• She gave me a payment document, asked me to hand it to the cash counter, make the payment, and bring back the receipt. My total was 8125/- (visa fees + courier charges + sms charges)
• Once I gave the receipt, she asked me to wait again. After 10 minutes, she called me, gave me back all my documents in a folder and asked me to wait for biometrics.
• Waited 30 more minutes until my token number came up on the screen again alloting biometrics room no. Entered, and now only one male officer was seated who asked for the folder. He started going over both sets of copies thoroughly and asked me the same questions previously asked by the lady - location, work, master's. That's it! Did not even ask to see original documents.
• then he took my fingerprints, attached my biometric photos on the application forms (videx forms filled online), put everything back into the folder, including passport, gave me a receipt, and said "done! You may leave. Now your file ll be sent to the embassy and you ll get your answer"

I couldn't believe it! Everything went so smoothly! I left the premises and an sms confirmation came that my application has been received. It's been a day and I got another update that my application has reached the embassy.

Additional note: I wore formals and I recommend the same, though everybody was dressed casually. You can carry your phone inside, just make sure its in silent mode.
