Charming, delicious and friendly staff. Highly recommend this delightful gem in the Jewish quarter of Budapest. I had the most delicious stuffed paprika, goulash soup and the apple crepe. I wish I could have ordered more things to try!

Excellent dishes, I had Gomolya as a starter and the chicken in bacon, very friendly service and a very nice atmosphere supported by a calm and quiet live guitar performance. We enjoyed this authentic dinner.

We had the Hungarian and chef's set menu, food was beautiful, well prepared and served, staff were friendly and helpfull, wine was nice and guitar player kept us entertained. Great first night in Budapest.

We were with a large party of 30 people and reserved the tables in advance. Overall, the experience was superb and ambience was nice. They had live music playing in the background.

The friendly, knowledgeable staff pays attention to detail and service was swift and attentive but not overzealous.

Great wine menu with local options for many different wines. Pricing also very reasonable.

Starters came out quickly and fresh. One of our party did not get theirs at first but this was soon corrected.

Mains served rather quickly after the starters. They may have taken a little more time between the courses but it was hardly something to complain about.

Food overall absolutely delicious with positive feedback from everyone at the table. I personally had the duck which was grilled to perfection. My only regret was that there wasn't any more.

Would recommend 10/10 and would definitely go again.

We just ran into this restaurant by recommendation of our hotel. Turned out this is going to be our favorite place to eat when we are in Budapest. Second time now! Great atmosphere, very good food for a fair price, small but great selection of wines and a very attentive and friendly service! Don’t miss the guitar player! Will come back again for sure!

We found this restaurant just by searching for a place for dinner. And it turned out amazing.
Great atmosphere, a very nice interior in the restaurant, super cozy lighting, romantic music, friendly staff, plus wonderful service, and the most important thing delicious Hungarian cuisine.
We ordered:
goulash - soap of meat, potato, and carrot, highly recommended to try especially in cold weather;
Duck liver pate - was so smooth and tasty coming with salad on the side, dried plums, and toasted brioche;
Roast duck with cholent (Jewish sabbath dish) -the duck was tasty but a little bit fatty;
-paprika chicken -this is my new have to try to cook at home dish- it's super delicious and super simple food, tastes like the chicken was slow-cooked and delicious orange sauce was added to it. It comes with homemade noodles, very interesting noodles for me, tried it for the first time. Reminds me of some noodles in the soup from my childhood - galoshki :)
For dessert, we shared a chocolate ganache - a chocolate souffle cake with vanilla ice cream and berries. This was heaven in the mouth 😋

This restaurant has a great drinks menu, with many options of local wines and draft beer.
We had dessert wine, which was very good.
Overall, great experience 😍 highly recommend visiting this wonderful restaurant

Service was great (they let us sit even ten minutes early before opening). Appetizers and food were all delicious. We will definitely be coming back! Thank you!

Everything was very delicious. The staff were kind and professional, we received all dishes quickly. Ambient live music, not too loud, so you can enjoy your dinner and have a talk too.

Great ambience , Great food and great service! A quaint restaurant nestled among the tall buildings around it , shares the outdoor seating with a square. They have nice combos on their menu too.

Where to start? Honestly I can't find words to describe the amazing experience we had here. First of all it's a good sign if the menu in a restaurant is short. Here you only have a few dishes you can choose from, which means it's really thought out and well made. Many restaurants fall into the trap of having too many items on their menu, which is a sign of a bad chef or owner. We found it hard to choose from it, and ended up choosing the lamb shank, of which I would write odes if I could write poem. It was simply perfect, I almost cried while eating it. Moist, tender, with fig-couscous and a really tasty brown sauce. I had to go tell the chef how amazed I am. We also got a bit of duck fat and bread as a starter which had the same amazing qualities as the lamb shank, it was super delicious. The staff was professional and very nice, they have put the icing on the already perfect cake. I gave out a few 5 star reviews during my years here on Google Maps, but very rarely feel like it was 5 stars because it was 100%. In this case my 5 stars mean my experience here was perfect, thank you all of you for making it happen and keep up this fantastic work. I will come back as often as I can to enjoy this experience again and again.

Absolutely gorgeous setting on a wonderful tree filled square. And food wonderful. Small but perfect menu. The cholent exception and the venison also fabulous. Lovely staff and good value. Thank you!

Wonderful traditional Hungarian cuisine accompanied by very professional and welcoming service! In addition a cozy atmosphere warmed up with pleasant live music. Booking a table is highly recommend.

Absolutely fantastic. You have to go to this restaurant if you are visiting Budapest. The service was so friendly and the atmosphere at night was wonderful - a guy was playing guitar in the corner, which was great. The food was amazing - we both went for the pork (as in the photo) which was just unreal. We also went for dessert, which was so good too. All in all, a fantastic little place and we would definitely come again if we were in Budapest again in the future.

👍 Live music, good Tokaji, nice looking & excellent taste local 🇭🇺 food with English speaking waiters. Nothing more is needed for an atmospheric evening in Budapest.

PS. It seems to be they close at 11 pm on the weekday, not like Google says at midnight (this is on the weekends).

Loved this place just over the road from our hotel. Great food, service and reasonable. Dessert was DELICIOUS 👍😋

Absolutely delicious food and great service, waiter was very knowledgeable and proficient in English, recommended a great wine as well. Especially enjoyed the venison stew and the catfish. We left very full and satisfied.
