New York Café

Overall a great cafe. Stayed at the hotel so the cafe was a comfortable distance (right beside lobby) and there was no wait, probably because it was late at night. There was a pianist for live piano instrumental music, and the building decorations are detailed and beautiful. The cheesecake wasn’t great but the other things were good. The hot chocolate was especially good, must try. I felt that the price was justified, however, it is really expensive for just dessert.

Went there for lunch. There was a queue outside but we only had to wait about 15 minutes. The hostess was very warm and welcoming. Once inside the elaborate decorations on every wall and ceiling was amazing. The food was 5 star and staff were professional and friendly. My wife, teenage daughter and myself enjoyed our time there and would recommend it to every visitor to Budapest.

Words don't make justice so l will post some photos instead. We didn't wait at all and the service was very fast. We had ice cream and hot chocolate with strawberry 24 karat and it was delicious. The atmosphere was superb and it was an orchestra playing some melodic music. I was thinking it would be much more expensive but it wasn't. Never had coffee in a big palace like that. Surely will come back.

It was an amazing experience. I went in the night for a coffee and cake. The staff was very friendly. The cappuccino and chocolate cake weren’t that great but indeed the atmosphere was amazing. I didn’t find it expensive considering the overall experience. :)

We went to this cafe to celebrate our friend‘s birthday. Their live music was amazing. One of the violinist came to our table to play happy birthday song. Even thought line was long, we got on pretty quick. Everything we ordered was delicious. The New York cocktail was very good. Service is little slow but we had a great time.

The service: slow but very friendly. Most people spoke English. The desert came right away, but the water and the coffee took very long.

The desert: was good, fruity. We ordered a crepe with fruity filling.

The coffee was GREAT, the hot chocolate was incredible.

The place is very beautiful, everything is very chic. We only have a coffee with gold, the prices are very high. It is important to make a reservation to go. I advise you to go, because it is a beautiful place and a great experience.

Massive place, Insta and Photo worthy every corner, great crowd, super service.

Coming to food the mains are above average.

This place is a dessert heaven and you can see people coming in having a couple of desserts and leave.

The queue appears long but it moves in fast. Advantage to those who go in numbers of 4 or more. You might just end up moving ahead of the crowd.

Contrary to what many people have written, our drinks and food were hot, and our server was first rate. The food was fabulous, and the portions so large we couldn't finish them. Szilvia, our waitress was charming and humorous. We had a fabulous experience here.

This place is a must-visit if you come to Budapest. It is a very special experience.

Prices are not cheap, but no one expects them to be.
Usually there is a waiting time at the door, but not long.

It's a fancy and ostentatious place. For this reason, the prices are high and the customers are always busy taking photos of the surroundings. You can come to satisfy your curiosity. Do not expect an amazing experience with food and beverage quality, except for experiencing 24k gold powdered drinks, because of course it is not something you can experience anywhere.

Nice experience ! The place is very popular indeed… we attended the queue for aprox 20 minutes. We where interested and courious to see how does it looks inside… It was breathtaking !!!! The live music 🎶 complete the charming atmosphere!
We had some special coffees and some sweets .

One of the most elegant coffee places in the world. Amazing design and place. But... price for coffee is 12 euro so was the most expensive coffee in my life and wasnt really good. But you pay here for a place not for a food.. But even this is worth to go

Despite the fact that we have to wait for about 40 minutes to enter, my wife and I decided that we wanted to see this famous cafe. We were by no means disappointed, because the essence of this is the experience, which we experienced to the fullest extent. Everything ordered was delicious. The place itself is really elegant and interesting to photograph. The prices are of course very high.

Very nice place, one of a kind. I had the hot chocolate, beef sesame bagel New York dessert section, Cheshunt & cherry dessert, 2 lattes & a tea (£100). The lemon dessert on in the dessert section was very nice, other than that the food was very mediocre, not the best I’ve had. But you go for the hype & the vibe & that was definitely giving. I took very nice pics & the hotel section also looked very nice. Wouldn’t go again, but was an enjoyable experience. Nice touch the live band performing too, short performance but very lovely.

An absolute must for those visiting Budapest. My wife and I were staying at the attached hotel (Ananatara New York Palace) so we didn’t need to queue and had access to the buffet breakfast. This probably played a major factor in our experience but with the decor and iconic status of this cafe, I’d highly recommend it anyways.

The food options were extensive - you have two long tables, one largely sweet and one largely savoury. You also have a menu to order from that’s included in the buffet (items like different types of egg, French toast etc).

The sweet table had a wide variety of pastries and cakes but it was the fresh juices and smoothies that really stood out. The staff manning the table were also great and really enjoyed us taking their video/photos as they served us. Passionfruit muffin was a major highlight

Savoury table included salads, eggs, cold cuts etc. A good variety of options. Certainly not the largest buffet but definitely one of the highest quality/best tasting. Sadly no halal meat but this was expected.

The coffee was also pretty good. Overall, a genuinely incredible experience having the buffet breakfast as you get to try so many different dishes and drinks.

This place might be more suitable for coffee and desserts rather than meals. I liked the NY burger! The ambiance and live music was great. Making a reservation in advance would be advisable to avoid waiting in line.

it was on our list to visit when in Budapest but only if we didn't have to wait long. we were passing by at around 20:00 on a week day and decided to get in. we only waited 5 minutes, thankfully inside, not in the cold weather.
For two hot chocolates and 3 small deserts we paid 47 euros. given the live music, the amazing architecture and decoration, plus the fact that it was the best chocolate i've ever had and the most delicious desserts, it was totally worth it!

First time visiting, was a pleasant experience. There was a queue upon entering which did get filtered out dependent on a reservation.

We were offered the choice seating close to the entrance which was available or waiting which could be up to an hour if we preferred elsewhere without a booking.

The staff was friendly, I myself had gold carat hot chocolate and chocolate cheesecake which was good. The hot chocolate was probably the best I've ever had.

Great architecture photos and videos were allowed provided it didn't disturb or interfere with other guests.

Only went in for dessert but the pricing was fair. It was not a long wait for our choices of order. And after finishing we weren't rushed out.
