I recently visited the Széchenyi Thermal Bath in Budapest, and it was an unforgettable experience. Nestled in the heart of the city, the bath offers a stunning blend of neo-baroque architecture and the modern luxury of a thermal spa. The warm waters are a balm for the weary traveler, and the atmosphere is steeped in history and relaxation. Despite the overcast skies, the heat from the pools provided a comforting contrast that made my swim genuinely delightful.

For those considering a visit, I highly recommend arriving early in the day. Not only do you get to enjoy the tranquility of the morning, but it's also the perfect strategy to avoid the crowds that tend to gather as the day progresses. Early risers are rewarded with a more serene dip and the chance to truly appreciate the grandeur of the place without the bustle. Don't miss out on this quintessential Budapest experience — it's a must-add to your itinerary!

It was a good experience. Before going to the thermal bath I was reading reviews. A lot of people are talking about bad water, smell and hair.
But we went at 9 am. For us everything was good.
We bought a ticket directly from the machine. No bookings were made in advance.
The water was clean and no hair in the water.
A lot of people were there but not that busy outdoor pool. The outdoor pool water temperature was good. We were not feeling cold.
The indoor pool was fine only. We liked the outdoor pool a lot.
The sauna was very good. Overall our experience was good and everyone should try one time at least.

We went on a Wednesday evening to this thermal bath. It was fairly busy but not too crowded. The water was a good warm temperature, not too hot and felt really good in winter! I recommend going to this thermal bath if you are visiting Budapest. We booked a girls locker room ticket via the official website and it was around ~£37 each. There are inside and outside pools. You will need to take slippers and towels with you.

I would recommend you going there very early in the morning, I was there on a Saturday morning by 8:30 am and there where few people, I could get all the pictures and video I wanted without having tons of people around me. By 10 am it was already crowded. The outdoor pool is very beautiful and gives good atmosphere, I didn’t really enjoy the indoors, where (of course) you can actually smell the thermal water smell being a closed space, but it really depends on what you are looking for.
I went early so I had no problem getting in very quick, and I would recommend the private changing room as it only costs 3 euros more.
PS: remember to take off your silver jewelry!

Top three experiences I’ve had on holiday in Budapest. Make sure you visit the thermal bath. The water is about 77° year-round. It is absolutely amazing and I’ve never had experience anything like it. Make sure to spend some time under the pressure stream. it’s like a therapeutic massage.

During our visit, there were quite a lot visitors, even though it was a Tuesday. However, overall we had a good experience. The best were the outdoor pools, which were pleasantly warm. Perhaps the only negative I consider is that some hair dryers did not work. The women's changing rooms could also be cleaner.

An obvious must see attraction if you're in Budapest. We booked tickets in advance which was slightly cheaper than on the day, and also avoided the queue to get in (though it wasn't a long queue and moved quickly). Advise getting there early as at 1pm it got very busy. There is a lot to do there, the area is huge and there are a lot of pools to visit.

What an amazing experience. It was magical. I recommend you go early and queue, not only will you save money not booking online but its also quieter. It does get very very busy. We rented 1 kabana and changed and kept our belongings safely locked in there. There are so many pools but the outdoor ones are in my opinion the best. Some are very hot and some are cooler. There is also a cold plunge pool which is fun. We didn't use the sauna or steam but they are available to use. If you want to swim in the lanes, you will need a swimming hat. We found it very clean and tidy and the staff helpful.

I went first thing in the morning, and it was nice and quiet. I just did the basic package, the morning special rate, but you can stay for a long time. I brought my own towel and slippers. But, you can rent private cabins and any items that you may need. I'm glad I'm here during the winter, because the hot water felt amazing. You can use the indoor and outdoor pools, steam rooms, and sauna. If you want to use the lap pool, bring a swim cap or buy one there. It was a great experience!

Title: A Luxurious Dip: Thermal Pool Experience

Nestled in the heart of tranquility lies the indulgent sanctuary of the thermal pool. While the price may seem steep, the experience is truly worth every penny, offering a blissful retreat from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

From the moment you step into the thermal pool, you are enveloped in a world of relaxation and rejuvenation. The warm, mineral-rich waters work wonders on tired muscles, melting away stress and tension with each soothing embrace.

The ambiance exudes luxury, with elegant surroundings and attentive service elevating the experience to new heights. Whether you seek solace in solitude or share the moment with loved ones, the thermal pool provides a haven for all.

While the cost may be a consideration, indulging in this lavish experience even once is an investment in your well-being. It's a chance to escape the ordinary and immerse yourself in the extraordinary, leaving you refreshed, revitalized, and ready to take on the world anew.

GO EARLY! Was there a hour before the doors opened and the crowd was about 150 people before they opened the doors. IF YOU BOUGHT TICKETS ALREADY = RIGHT SIDE DOORS! If you haven't bought a ticket, no QR code, DIDN'T BUY A TICKET = LEFT SIDE DOORS! There's also a door in the middle of the right and left side doors which is THE EXIT! When I left about 1 pm the line to get in was like 350 to 400 people deep. GO EARLY! A hour before they open. Outdoor pool is the best since they have 8 smaller ones inside but the LARGE OUTDOOR BATH IS THE BEST!

We spent about 4 to 5 hours here and we all had a great time. There were plenty of different pools and baths inside and out. Around the pools, there were a couple of bars to get a drink from. You can choose from soft drinks to alcoholic ones at reasonable prices. We paid to have a private changing booth with a lock on. We got there early in the morning and managed to get 4 sun lounges together in a shaded area, which was good as the temperature got over 31 degrees .

This bath is the must have experience in Budapest. It definitely worth to try. We relaxed and enjoy very well. There is a lot of different sauna and baths. This is a famous place, so definitely busy in summer, try avoid weekends. I would say might be one of the most Instagrammable spots for pictures.

I went here like early in the morning few weeks ago to avoid the long queue since online booking said it was full.
Easy train ride from Opera Metro Station ( around 10 minutes or less?)
I purchased my ticket over there fast and easy since it was still early ( I saw a long line when I was about to leave around 11:30 AM.
There are lots of outdoor and indoor pools to choose from and wet/dry saunas too.

Hungary's famous thermal bath house.
They have indoor and outdoor thermal pools, steam rooms, salt rooms and saunas. You can also get a private massage.
They offer various different entry options , you can have your own private room, a small cabin or just a locker. You should visit their website and pick the one that suits you the best.
You can bring your own towels or rent one from there. Once you are in you have the full access to the bath house and you can use all the facilities. There is also an outdoor swimming pool where you can do laps, but you must wear a swimming cap to enter the pool.

Best experience here! Gorgeous setting, beautiful baths. And most
Of all the man who was working the door from the changing area to the main pools outside on Wed Jan 31 at 9am was just the nicest man!!! He would explain the entire complex to me and answered all of my questions. He was warm and absolutely lovely! Thank you for showing us a great time in Budapest!

We visited the Szechenyi Baths in Budapest in December and it is one of the best. I very much recommended the outdoor baths and the rooftop spa greenhouse.

The soothing effects of warm mineral-rich waters mixed with the cool winter air was delightful. The yellow walls with the light blue water is something that photos can’t do justice!

Cabin’s are big enough for two, I recommend getting one. We also got tickets in advance online to avoid any waits or lines.

This is easily one of the most beautiful baths I've been to. The architecture is very elegant and there are a variety of pools and other amenities such as steam rooms. Unless you're traveling with children, you're probably fine just paying for general admission.

The outdoor pools are very aesthetic but personally I spent most of my time in the indoor baths. There are a variety of different baths with different properties and temperatures. I liked the cold plunges as well as the lavender steam rooms. The bath can get busy as it's frequented by locals and tourists, so I'd arrive earlier to secure some lounging chairs.

The outside baths are so enjoyable! Perfectly warm waters, a gorgeous setting, and people everywhere, but it's part of the experience. I bought the ticket with private changing cabin. It was nice to lock everything away and just have my towel, sandals, and phone (at times) with me. I wish I could have stayed longer. I recommend a half day to visit and enjoy all pools inside and out.

Very fortunate that I got about 2 hour of sun to enjoy the bath in the morning. The sun brings about a nice blue glow to the pool and makes the building appear gorgeous. At time of visit one of the outer pool was under renovation. Morning was not busy and you get a decent discount.
