Definitely worth a visit or two while in Budapest. The downstairs is primarily groceries, and it is a good place to buy some goodies to take home, like paprika! The upstairs is half food court and half vendors selling local goods. I bought a few souvenirs here. The food hall has great Hungarian options.

The market hall has 3 levels and is really huge. Everyone will find something for themselves here, we have delicious Hungarian dishes, many different souvenirs, spices, Hungarian sausages, sweets and clothes. Definitely everyone who is in Budapest should visit this wonderful place!

Very lovely place to distance from the city vibes and enjoy the nature. Beautiful, green (despite the late winter). Fabulous snowball fields 😍

Great way to spend an hour or so in Budapest. Hundreds of different stalls, mostly selling meat, herbs and spices. Upstairs has more clothing for sale. No entrance fee or anything like that. Didn’t buy anything from here but fun to look around!

I could have spent all day here! What a fantastic market. Went early (6:30am) to only a handful of stalls open. Decided to return later that morning as the market truly opens around 9am. Man, was the wait worth it! Lots of shopping (souvenirs, unique items, fruits and veggies, meat, etc) and even though there are repeat stalls, it was wonderful to walk all the rows. Upstairs is a mix of souvenirs and tons of food options (that looked so delicious). I have plans to eat my way through this market oneday.

There is so much here to browse! On the main floor you'll find a proper market. Many meats, cheeses, and vegetables will be for sale across a hundred different food stands. You'll even find a few souvenir and trinket shops. Underground you'll find a full grocery store and fish market. In the second floor are a few restaurants and many souvenirs for sale. You could spend thirty minutes or a few hours here depending on what you want to explore. Just remember that it's a touristy area for souvenirs.

There are few things left to remind that you came to a market. Very beautiful. Tourists oriented. Souvenir market overall. Some food also. Enjoy!

Good place to find local Hungarian street food such as chimney cake and Langos. There’s also a good variety of shops for local souvenirs, like paprika, magnets, keychains, textiles, etc.

Don’t miss out on the second floor foodcourt!

My husband and I are big foodies - so naturally, we loved it!!! Most of the people working there know English so they can explain the differences between products and help you make the right choice.
Also, if you're getting tired of bringing back the souvenirs in the form of magnets, this is where you'll get everything done! A bag of sweet, smoked paprika, goulash paste, salami... you can truly bring a taste of Hungary back home to share the experience with friends and family.

A great shopping area with much of joy and tasty bakery products. I enjoyed their special Hungarian cake and cookies. I loved the place, it’s just by the Danube river where you can take the cruise to explore the city and see the popular landmarks such as the citadel and the bridges.

Central Market Hall is a must visit spot. It is a reflection of people’s lives where lots of locals are shopping for their meats and groceries. For tourists, there are lots gifts and souvenirs to choose from, and restaurants where they serve local food.

Impressive building with an amazing range of local products, souvenirs and foods to try. Great to walk around, shop and eat typical things like Langos! I bought Hungarian sausage and Paprika! Bear in mind some stalls in the centre sell the exact same products than other stalls in the back / corners for a higher price.

A stunning market for the traditional paprika and the traditional souvenirs. All the independent traders that we spoke with were so lovely. Also, a great stop for fresh fruit, veg and meat if you stay in an Airbnb and want to cook.

Great place to visit, especially for souvenirs, a good place to taste the traditional Hungarian sausage which is delicious! The market is huge, it resembles a train station - you can buy everything from fruit and vegetables to dairy and traditional meat products, spices, handwork and many souvenirs. You can buy sachets with Hungaria's traditional spice - paprika (both hot and mild) and matching wooden spoons, traditional folk costumes or wooden doll cases. It is a must if you visit Budapest!

What a great venue for shopping everything from authentic food, spices, and souvenirs. Many prices lie than other places. Allow plenty of time and be patient because it's always crowded. Have fun!

Central Market Hall in Budapest Hungary is beautiful. The fruits and veggies looked so fresh. There were many deli meats and cheeses. The spices were plentiful. Very nice to shop.

The great central market hall in Budapest is a really big market. Things can get cheaper here compared with buying in souvenir shops in the city or streets. All the main souvenir items like handmade table runner/cloth, hair accessories, paprika, crystal glasses, and wood hand crafted things are slightly more affordable here. I managed to get a good deal for the handmade umbrellas and the 8 seaters table cloth. The seller gave a good price when we paid with cash. But with the credit card, he couldn't reduce it much.
Besides, some of the sellers are really friendly people. Also, we can buy fresh fruits here like berries. It's really fresh and delicious.
Just take note, on weekends, they closed by 3pm. The sellers also accept the euro if you don't have forint currency.

You absolutely MUST visit the Central Market Hall if you are in Budapest! It is quite large and very close to other landmarks but in and of itself it is an amazing place to explore. There are 2 levels, hot food, cold food, haberdashery, souvenirs, meats, a shop stall wholly dedicated to lavender! There are fabric shops, exotic fruits, wine I mean you name it and it is available. I'd suggest you put aside at least 90 minutes to explore and I don't think you can see all the stalls in 90 minutes. There is a parking garage near by and there are bathrooms in the Hall.
