Avis Rent A Car Roatan

We have rented about 10 times now through Avis at RTB after our 1st experience with a local was terrible. We have had nothing but the best service with everyone at Avis. We just rented again the last 2 weeks and they go above and beyond every time. The night before our flight home we noticed we had a flat on the truck we rented. They sent a mechanic to us on the east end of the island, replaced the tire and we were ready to go just in time to catch our flight! I am a travel advisor and we have rentals on the island. I refer every single one of our guests to Avis, they do have a high deposit but they return it immediately when you return the vehicle. 100% satisfied by the service and all of the vehicles are fairly new, low miles and in great shape.

Great experience with Avis for renting a car. The staff was very friendly and professional and even gave us some great recommendations for places to go and restaurants. The vehicle was in good condition. Pick up and return went smoothly.

We have used this Avis about 8 times now. They are very personal and speak good English. This last time we got a flat the night before our flight home. I couldn't find the jack, so the showed up first thing and the morning and got the spare on. We have recommended them to our guests for our Airbnbs. They have not had any problems either.

I was on the island from 22 to 29 of January. I used AVIS there, and I regularly use AVIS in all countries where it exists. As it turned out, I was not surprised by the excellent service. Everything was quite easy and simple. To my regret, I forgot the name of the person who registered the car. What can we say about him - body you are the PRO in this field. I received the car clean both inside and out.
The return was also quite easy and fast. Really 5 stars to You for your service. Thank you

Rented for 6 days in Dec. Flew down on American Airlines and got a great rate from Avis through them. Excellent service. Very friendly. Didn't pressure me when I declined insurance. When we were looking over the car and noting minor damages, their rep actually pointed out 2 things I missed. Returning the car was also fast and easy. Won't hesitate to rent from them again.

I had an EXCELLENT experience with the Avis rental location at the Roatan Honduras airport location. I had reserved a van with Sixt about a month ahead of time. When I got there Sixt has no Van and made no effort to accommodate me and my family. I went to Avis and they were so helpful. Kendall got me a van and got me on my way quickly! When I returned the vehicle they were quick and even dropped me off at the cruise terminal! Thanks, Anthony! I know that is something they certainly didn’t have to do, but I was so grateful they would. Avis at the Roatan Airport location was awesome! I would highly recommend them!

Sixt told us they didn’t have a car for us until we arrived, despite reserving months earlier. After Sixt offered no help, we started asking at the other stands. Avis didn’t have a car available either, but called around to the local companies and found us a car.

Great experience. Everyone here was professional, and polite. They even made sure I knew about the island, being it my first time to Roatán. Nobody pressured me to buy insurance and they had the vehicle that I reserved. It had some scratches here and there but overall was in good condition. Make sure you take a video of the damage before you take the vehicle, which I do whenever I rent a car. Thank you

I don't know where the bad experience came from previous postomgs, but our family had no issues. Avis now has an office at the airport and we will definitely use them again. Easy pick up and drop off

Kendall & Dina are the best there are more rental car place's over there but they are great like these guys an the car price are awesome !

I rented an economy car for a week and had good service. I had concerns about the car because it had many dents/scrapes from people parking under coconut palms and tight/rough roads - always take a walk around video of the car at rental time to address questions at return time. In any case, I had a friendly, no hassle return from Avis staff. Spending a couple of extra bucks for a small SUV for the clearance on Roatan's rough, under construction roads would have been a good choice.

Had a very smooth rental experience - great car, and great service. The only problem we had was finding the exact location to pick up the car. Here they show it on Spring Garden Road but it is actually right outside the airport itself.

AVIS provided us with a broken vehicle during our Dec stay. We needed to take our child to the clinic upon arrival in Roatan. We exclusively drove to West Bay from the airport so our son could go to the clinic at West Bay Mall. Within less than 24 hours, and less than 20 miles driven by us, we returned the broken vehicle to the AVIS kiosk at Infinity Bay. We used the replacement vehicle successfully for 3 weeks after this experience. When we returned the replacement vehicle, they wanted to charge us $1900 for the broken vehicle they provided us, in addition to the $1600 rental fee. We didn't agree, yet by the time we landed home there were over $4000 of charges on our credit card. We called to complain, and they lied several times. First they said my husband didnt know how to drive a manual transmission (despite successfully renting a manual vehicle from them for 7 weeks across 3 trips), then they said we had unauthorized drivers drive (not true) and finally said a female driver broke the car (sexist, not true). They are dishonest and unprofessional.

Rented from Avis for a week stay in Roatan. They gave me a beat up car with obvious prior damage that was spray painted flat red compared to the glossy red over the rest of the car. The radio did not work. It was in rough shape. I drove it around the island and delivered it back with a full tank of gas (couldn't fill it any further) that the gauge said was 3/4. Upon checkout they blamed me for damage that I emphatically deny happened while in my possession. In fact I went out of my way to avoid potholes and park away from other vehicles. It's all a scam. I thought Avis was the preferred car rental company for business. Apparently not in Roatan. DO NOT give them business. Their are other companies to use but beware, take a hundred pictures even under the car. They want you to take the extra insurance to bilk the system. Might make sense since this operation is going to steal money from either insurance or directly from you. Horrible to be accused of damage when you only took effort to take care of the car.....kick sand off shoes, throw out papers/trash, etc...... won't make a difference. They charge top dollar and deliver you a car that's probably recovered from Hurricane Katrina. Stay away!

Rented a car here for 2 days. November 21-23. Bought extra insurance through them and through elsewhere also. They were not there when we returned car even though it was during posted open hours and was when we were supposed to return the car. We called and were told 10 mins he would be there. After 30 minutes we called again and was told 45 minutes he would be there. Both phone calls had different excuses as to where he was.We left and came back later in day. Just got our visa bill and they put a $1327 charge on it! I took pics during inspection of any and all scratches and dents and we had all the insurance anyway! No emails as to why they thought they could charge us! Scammers, do not use. I used them because they were a national company seemed safer.

Had a lot of trouble here. When we first arrived we waited over an hour for somebody to show up at the locked office to get out car. After calling every number we could find somebody finally answered and showed up. Same thing happened when we tried to drop off, waited for another hour and nobody ever showed up. We called the main customer service hotline and they just told us to leave the key under the seat.

I have never seen any rental place be so meticulous about documenting little scratches. And watch out! if there is any that they missed, they'll charge you for it hundreds of dollars. Not worth it at all!
