Sea Divers Roatan

I'm embarrassed it took me this long to write this review. Sam and Amanda deserve better! :) My wife and I dove 5 days with Sea Divers and it was awesome! We had Nico as a DM for 4 days and Iron for the last day. We liked Iron, but we loved Nico! As a Divemaster and Instructor myself, I can assure you that both Nico and Iron were true pros in the water. Nico especially knew the reefs like the back of his hand. A place like Sea Divers is where dive pros go when they're on vacation because of the friendly, laidback, and safe experience.

As for boat captain Sam....what a great guy! Not exaggerating. Sam and I became fast friends, and by the time we left, I felt like I had known him my whole life. By the way, buddy, I saved our lives when I told that lady to get those bananas off the boat! ;) You owe me! Haha! Seriously, anyone reading this review and looking for a dive op that is small, personalized and fun. Look no further. Sea Divers is one of the best dive operators we've used and I would head back to dive with Sam and their DMs in a second. You won't be disappointed!

We had a wonderful 2 weeks of diving in Roatan thanks to Sea Divers! Having dived many places around the world we have an appreciation for a dive shop who is the total package; kind, courteous, flexible, valet, professional, safety oriented, and still a ton of fun! All of which I would use to describe Sea Divers! Sam, the owner also took my family out for a snorkel tour in Palmetto Bay to see huge starfish and explore a sunken boat. My 5 year old had an absolute blast and the views of the beautiful turquoise water were breathtaking! I would highly recommend Sea Divers for your diving and snorkeling desires!

The staff at sea divers roll a 10 are the best on the island. Boat Captain Denis is spot on setting up your gear... you'll never have to touch it after the 1st time you show how you like your rig for the rest of the trip, it wil be on the boat waiting for you to go to the best dive sites on the entire island!
The owners Sam& Amanda Will do anything to make your specific them the best you've ever had anywhere. There are hundreds of dive shops on the island all of which will be your 2nd choice after Sea Divers after your stay with them.
Seriously can't think of any reason to go anywhere else, I was 101% satisfied with service and price.

My family went on two dive trips with Sea Divers Roatan in December 2018. The weather was a bit rainy and windy and they were extremely flexible in scheduling. They picked us up on the dock of the house we were renting, supplied any gear we hadn’t brought with us and my family had a couple of great dives on the reef. There are fairly strong currents so be prepared for that. There was an abundance of fish, crab, a few turtles and octopus if you looked carefully on the rocks. I would recommend swimming to the reef from the beach if you’re snorkeling as the view is better from the shore side than the ocean side as it’s deeper on the ocean side. All beaches are public access in Roatan.

Sea Divers are awesome!!! They took amazing care of us through your whole stay! Amanda is great for coordinating trips! Sam is funny, knowledgeable and safe! Brian was exceptional at finding all kinds of critters!

If you are an advanced diver looking for the best dive experience you’ve ever had – book immediately with Sea Divers. Likewise – if you are a beginning diver or have no experience at all and want to learn – Sea Divers is the place for you, too! My daughter and I visited Roatan a few months ago and stayed at Palmetto Bay, one of the locations for Sea Divers. My daughter is an advanced diver – over 100 dives – and finally had time to test for her advanced card. I had been scuba diving twice, over 30 years ago, and wanted to try it again. Amanda, the owner of Sea Divers, made our week in Roatan one of the best experiences of our lives. They aren’t kidding when they say they are the dive shop that cares. The whole team feels like a family and once you meet them, you become part of the family, too. It was outstanding! On top of all of that – their prices can’t be beat! My daughter was truly amazed, having paid way more at other dive locations and not gotten half the experience or customer service.
Where else have you been where the owner will take the time to arrange dives that will challenge and captivate an advanced diver while taking special care of a very nervous beginning diver? Sea Divers does that. My daughter had her very own, private dive master, Josue, who took her through the required skills but went far beyond the “regular”, big dive shop certification experience. From night dives to deep wreck dives to visiting special locations that not everyone gets to see, Josue gave my daughter the best dives she has ever had – her exact words, not mine. She has scuba-dived all over the world, so you can trust she knows what she is talking about. At the same time, on the same dive trips as my daughter, my dive master, Mike, gently and carefully introduced me to the beautiful world below the waves. First, I went on a guided snorkel experience, and that just whetted my appetite. The next day Mike took me on a “discover dive” first – to see if I really wanted to continue to certification. Mike took such good care of me – I wasn’t pressured or rushed at any time. He literally held my hand the entire dive, and several dives after that, too. I know a big dive shop would not have been that patient and caring or taken the extra time I needed to be comfortable and confident. I also know I would not have been able to go with my daughter on the same dive trips. Because of Amanda and Mike, I got my scuba certification and I’m thrilled. I can’t wait for my next trip – hopefully back to Roatan and Sea Divers!
One of the things I liked the best was that the team at Sea Divers did whatever they could to accommodate whatever anyone needed, from equipment, to extra masks and fins, to sunscreen if you forgot yours and even sharing fresh watermelon on the way back from the dive. Our trips included everyone from the very experienced divers, like my daughter and a few others, to zero-experience divers, like me – all on the same boat - and all of us became friends. There were several families with children of ages from 6-13; all of them were learning to dive or snorkel and they got to be with their family while they were learning. The kids had their own instructor – George – who was just super with the kids. The parents were able to dive on their own and still watch their kids and be part of their adventure. We were even joined once by their grandmother who just wanted to come out for a ride on the boat and watch her grandkids having a wonderful time.
I highly recommend you book a dive trip to Roatan and join the Sea Divers family. Roatan’s reefs are among the world’s most beautiful places and Sea Divers will take care of you like no one else can.

If you're looking for a non-cattleboat, low key quaint experience, contact Amanda. She is very accommodating and responsive. Josue, the dive master, is the type of guy who can make any diver feel, regardless of experience, comfortable and captivated. When I return to Roatan (hopefully soon) I'll be arranging some diving with the Sea Divers crew.

Three dives with Sea Divers' Patrick. These guys and the reefs around Roatan are great. I highly recommend Sea Divers Roatan if you're going to be in the Sandy Bay area and want to learn to dive or are already certified and ready to see some incredible dive locations.

I feel really lucky to have found Sam and his crew. They are very knowledgeable about all the dive spots around Roatan and are highly competent divers themselves. Sam managed all our equipment. I have yet to find a better dive boat captain.

Great professional yet personal dive guides, beautiful location. We have done many dives with these guys over several trips, only good things to say about them!

This dive shop was excellent in customer service and was very helpful with picking a good dive site. Would dive with them again when we go back. Everyone at the shop is friendly and very competent.
