Beer Ambleside

Mark is nothing short of a legend - with an encyclopaedic knowledge of beer, wine and mead! Had a great visit to the shop, sampled the Slider IPA and came away with a great selection of bottles and some Mead. All recommended by Mark.

What a gem of a place - long may it stay open and serve many people from all quarters of the UK 👍

I’d just like to thank Mark for kindly looking after one of my elderly passengers on my coach who hadn’t been very well whilst on holiday in the Lake District. Mark stepped in without hesitation and made Margaret a nice hot cup of tea and kept her safe and warm inside Beer Ambleside whilst waiting for me to return to Ambleside.
It was a pleasure to meet you yesterday Mark and I will definitely be pointing my future passengers in your direction if ever they are thirsty🙂

Lovely little shop with a huge range of beers. Me and my partner are into sour beers and rarely find that great a selection. Staff are really helpful and knowledgeable and really easy to talk to. Recommended local brewery’s that we could visit while travelling round the Lake District which we can’t wait to try :)

Great little shop with a massive selection. As a recent teetotaler, it was fantastic to see such a great selection of alcohol free beers. I bought all 9 of them and so far they've all been great! The gentleman who served me was wonderful and chatty and made my day a little bit brighter - I even got a free tote bag! I will be back on my next visit to stock up. Thank you! <3

Amazing selection of beers - local, national and international. Also wines, meads and spirits. You can drink in too, and get served by the friendly staff, who have great knowledge of all things beer!

Was up in Bowness-on-Windermere for a holiday recently with my partner and was looking to take some speciality and local beers home with me. Came across this gem of a bottle shop.

Choice is absolutely fantastic! The lady there was so knowledgeable and helpful. I was looking for a few imperial stouts and some local beers to take home and she recommended a cracking bottle selection for me (Thank you!)

Reasonably priced. Very good selection as I’ve mentioned. They also do growlers so if you’re in need of a pit stop to fill up with beer. Then that’s the place to go. Will be returning!

Exceptional beer shop with a small table to enjoy some beers in store. The owner is very knowledgable and has created a selection of beers from the local area and much further afield. Fair prices.

Popped in here a couple of times for gifts and some beverages for us. Dog friendly store. Stocks a lot of local ales as well as a couple of local wines. Some cider stock also. Had a good range of non/low alcohol beers but needs to get in some decent low alc ciders.

Fantastic collection of drinks. Mark is very friendly, easy to talk to and extremely knowledgeable. He was able to engage four of us, each with different tastes and different levels of knowledge in conversation and help find an array of drinks, mostly local, which we have thoroughly enjoyed while on holiday in Ambleside.

Great selection. I wanted steamer and guy behind counter pointerd it out amongst thousands of other ipa choices !! Really tasty !!

Very helpful shop keeper and excellent selection of local beers. I was asked what types of beer I preferred and given recommendations for each type. The place to buy local craft beer in Ambleside.

Fantastic selection of local beer, keenly priced too. The guy was so friendly, helpful & knowledge, willing to explain the flavour differences between each beer, needless to say I popped in to grab a couple of bottles and ended up buying a selection of different local brews ! The guys I was with also bought some, including some non alcohol beer again on recommendation.
If in Ambleside & stuck for a gift to take back thats different from the norm then definitely head for this shop. If we don't use them then we'll lose the local shops & breweries.

What a brilliant beer shop, amazing selection of unusual craft beers including several non-alcoholic ones which is great to see.
Owner very pleasant to chat to and obviously knowledgeable on his stocked products.

Absolutely fantastic shop. I could've spent all day in here . Loads of craft beer and also traditional and continental stuff. Nice, well informed owner, reasonable pricing. A must for beer lovers if in and around Ambleside!

Well stocked, reasonable priced. Guy who is running the shop has good knowledge and was very helpful. We've just wanted to have a quick look but ended up with a bag full of beers (including some Estonian rarities). Definitely worth visiting

Great selection of craft beers, as well as ales and wine. Been in twice this week and staff have been really friendly on both occasions. Enjoyed the beers we've had so far. Would (and have!) recommended this place.
