Prestonfield Golf Club

Well maintained, beautiful looking and fun playable golf course. With the added bonus of the amazing scenery of Arthur’s seat. Played reasonably flat with no monster hills to navigate (only one uphill hole) a lovely clubhouse and well stocked pro-shop, I played as a guest of a member and look forward to playing again.

Pleasant golf club with 100 years of history in Edinburgh. Rosie of proshop has been very helpful in organizing my club hire. Very scenic holes towards the view to Arthur's seat. Unforgettable.

A great place to start a Scottish golf visit. Shortish course but tricky - rolling fairways. Great use of sand and trees. Staff was very helpful. Bring your slap-shot skills - keep the ball low and let the rolls help you.

Staff are lovely , but the barman called Blake loved talking about his investments in Tesla 🤣. Good service , good chat , bad investment advice.

Loved having afternoon tea here - so cozy and each area is private and you can sit and chat for hours!

Really nice course. Not too challenging, but enough to keep you thinking. All in great condition and very well maintained. All in all, a very welcoming club.

What a stunning course! Some tricky and challenging holes but overall not too punishing, fantastically maintained and the views are to die for. To top it all off, the location is simply unbelievable - about 30 mins walk away from Princess Street. An absolute must play.

It is a fabulous building. The food is excellent and the staff are very good. It is my favourite place.

I was working on the day I was there and didn't really see that much of the hotel or its facilities except for the reception, grounds, function suite in the former stable block and a temporary marquee which had been erected for a wedding which all looked like what you would expect a a high end venue even although the decor was in an old fashioned style and was furnished with quite a lot of antiques, the staff who I meet where all polite, friendly and helpful, it's is the only hotel I have ever been to where there was 2 peacocks running around

This was one of the courses I played while on a week long Golf vacation with 2 mates coming from abroad. A really scenic and well maintained parkland-style course. Great view on Arthur's Seat. Very friendly staff at the pro shop. Highly recommended to come to play here.

Had a pro lesson with Chris today. A few swings to see what was wrong and boom...a quick suggestion to correct something and I was swinging a lot more naturally. I mean a lifetime of bad habits is hard to break and I still sliced, topped a few but I saw a massive improvement in my swing and he gave me a good next steps for me to work on at the range. Felt completely at ease and he explained things simply to me. I came out of the experience feeling a lot more confident about my game.

In terms of facilities, I didn't have much chance to experience them as I was only there for a lesson but it looks really nice, everyone is friendly and happy to help. I'd love to go for a round here

Excellent day at the course, thanks to the great hospitality and kindness of the pro shop staff here. Wonderful location two blocks from our B&B. Magnificent view of Arthur Seat. Challenging round especially in 30 mph winds. Tremendous people. Thank you, John D Schulz, Cockeysville, Maryland USA.

Excellent food, beautiful surroundings and excellent service. A place for a special treat. Went for lunch( again...): set lunch ( with choice from three dishes at each course) 3 courses at £34. May sound expensive, but for this quality it is not.

Had smoked salmon, pheasant then home-made Christmas pudding. Portions may look small, but they are more than enough. Especially as the food is so tasty, with interesting well-chosen accompaniments.

Lovely setting in parkland/golf adjacent. (Follow your sat nav as it’s tucked away in a suburban street.)

This place is absolutely beautiful. Attended a wedding here and the food was Delicious, service amazing and the setting just breathtaking at the bottom of Arthur's seat! The restauraunt looks really lovely and really hope I can go back.

Course is in as good condition as I've seen it for a few years. Volunteers have done a great job tidying up and cutting back many areas and getting the course into its present condition. Greens are running well if not as fast as last year.

Really great golf course in central Edinburgh and excellent value.

It's a good course. You want to finish off the day at Prestonfield House Hotel for a meal and a few drinks it's a really good day out. It's not an inexpensive day out. I would suggest being collected or make a day of it and take your partner's or wives for a meal afterwards. They won't mind being golf widows.
