The Auld Hundred

I’m typically not one to leave reviews but this place was absolutely amazing. This was my first real meal after arriving in Edinburgh and I will honestly be surprised if I find another meal that will top this one. 10/10 recommend. I got the soup of the day (sweet potato, coconut & chili) and the fish and chips and they were both amazing. The atmosphere and staff were also incredible.

Super pleasant atmosphere, kind staff and a great bond between them. We were passing through the city, after having been to a few pubs, this one is the best for us!! We returned there a few times during our stay and each time we were lucky enough to be served (restaurant) by Amelie and Katrina.

Everything we ate (fish & chips, steak pie and sticky toffee pudding) was absolutely delicious! Cosy atmosphere and perfect service.

What a wonderful old pub!
This place dates back to the 1800s and is strange and it's layout but, you can see that it is totally original.
We only called in for a couple of whiskies.
That was an amazing array of wee drams to choose from.
Be careful to ask for the price as a few of them are really quite exclusive and or simply mixed with the rest of them in the bar.
I will return.

We made a reservation here on a Sunday for Sunday roast and it was delicious! Food and beer was good, staff was friendly, the pub had a warm and welcoming vibe as live music played off and on downstairs throughout the night.

A lovely little pub, very cosy with food upstairs. I was hankering for my first haggis experience, and they did not disappoint with this scrummy plate! Was very much needed after a long day of walking and found it was super flavourful and a great first time experience with haggis. Thank you!! 🧡🏴??????

Luckily to find this bar in Edinburgh. Their whisky sauce is amazing, I tried haggis there. And the award wining cold town beer ( local Brewery) and of course the whisky taste plate. Don’t miss it. The live music and their service is impressive. Remember to book a seat. It’s very popular. I visited 2 times during my 4 days trip but definitely will return.

We had our first meal in Edinburgh here after a long trip, and it was the best choice ever! The soup and salmon were good, and we loved the beer too. But the Balmoral chicken was simply the best and it definitely was something we never tried before. Now we are back in Korea and terribly miss the chicken already..🥲 we will definitely come back when we are back in town!

Lovely food and absolutely fantastic service. The waitress (Rachael) was so lovely and really knowledgable about all the food.

10/10.

And a great whisky selection too!

The music drew us in and didn’t disappoint. The music and vibe was spot on! The bartender did an excellent job filling drink orders quickly on a very busy night. We loved it so much we came back for a second night.

Yeah this is a great stop in for a meal. The fish and chips is excellent. They have do a nice soup of the day and a fine Scottish rarebit. Great atmosphere and good food. Well worth the visit.

Great pub to try some local food!
The service was fast and very friendly. The pub is cozy and just overall a lovely place to check out while you’re in Edinburgh!

Here for the open mic night on Sunday 29 Apr. Hospitality over the moon. Great pub, wide selection of beers ales and liquor. Missed dinner but the place had a lot of local clients so I am thinking you'll not be disappointed. If I could give more than 5 stars I would.

Absolutely brilliant. The drunk man cussing me out as we were trying to enter did not deter, as shocking as it was. Thank goodness! The service was impeccable. The atmosphere so cool. The food was perfection! I tried haggis and was so shocked and surprised to find it absolutely delicious!!!! Son couldn’t try it due to his allergies and husband wouldn’t so I got it all to myself! lol I can’t even recall what I had as a main!! If I hadn’t gotten ill this trip, we would have gone back. And they had my absolute favorite Scottish cider, Thistly Cross!! I had imagined having one with every meal but have not found it to be sold many of the places we’ve gone. We would 1000% recommend anyone seek out The Auld Hundred when visiting the city. We promise you won’t be sorry.

Awesome Sunday roast. Exceptional food and service. Book though as very popular

Been here many times, great for city centre meals, Sunday roast is excellent. Usually a good spot to bring visitors. I would recommend booking a table, it can be busy any time of day. Last time I was there I had the hot chocolate with Baileys, cherry and gin lacquer, amazing.

we liked it here. i had haggis neeps tatties and whiskey sauce gotta say it was delicious absolutely lovely best food i had in scotland . lager reasonably priced too. really enjoywd it here no complaints and if yiu are looking for a nice haggis dinner look no further
