Wanslea Guest House

Lovely spacious guest house run by fantastic, passionate owners, Tina and Steve. We have just spent 2 nights and were very warmly welcomed. We stayed in the Africa room which was so spacious, comfortable and beautifully furnished. The bed linen and bed was of an extremely good quality, always nice. The breakfast was delicious and there was plenty of choice. Coffee very good. We felt so well looked after during our stay here. We would highly recommend. Amazing Acer tree in the car park and the massive garden centre across the road is well worth a visit.

We've just returned from a weekend away in The Lakes staying at the Wanslea Guest House. We would recommend it and we would return. Location meant a 5 minute walk (if that) into Ambleside Town Centre, great location for the bus stops and car parking. The room was spotless, the team were really nice and friendly and the breakfast yummy. I have a dairy allergy so having soya milk for my morning brew is a huge bonus.

Just returned from a 5 night stay at the Wanslea Guest House. Steve and Tina are wonderful hosts, friendly and approachable. The room was clean, tidy and had everything you need. Breakfast delicious! Would 100% reccommend to anyone wanting somewhere comfortable to stay in the Lake District. Thank you for such a great stay :)

Wonderful accommodation in ambleside with the best hosts! Steve and Tina are knowledgeable of the area, look after you and breakfast is just brilliant, Charlie also plays a part. Been staying here for years and wouldn't go anywhere else.

Lovely B&B, room is lovely and clean. Comfy bed, nice warm room. Tv on wall with Freeview. Tea and coffee making facilities.
On the road but the room is double glazed so we really didn't hear much and slept very well. My husbands breakfast was lovely..I had porridge and toast also lovely.
Lovely bathroom with full bath and shower..plenty of hot water to have a bath.
Pizza shop up the back street if you don't want to venture out.
A 5 minute walk into town.
Will definitely stay hear again!

My mum and I just spent the most wonderful 3 days staying at Wanslea Guest House, during our first time visiting the Lakes District from Australia. Steve, Tina and their cutie pie dog Charlie are the quintessential hosts, so friendly, welcoming, and especially helpful with suggestions for site seeing in the area. Our premium double room was large, impeccably clean and well presented, with a spacious modern ensuite. It features lovely decor and artwork, quality linen and extremely comfortable beds. It did not bother us climbing a few flights of stairs up to our room as we needed to work off the most generous and delicious breakfast that was provided each morning, which can be customised to your preferences and taste. The guest house is ideally positioned for easy walking to the lake piers, town centre and local bus stops. Thank you for such a memorable stay and we shall be sure to highly recommend Wanslea Guest House, Ambleside.

Just returned from a two day break arranged at short notice with our daughter. Thank you Steve and Tina, we had a lovely time. Your B&B is spotless, great friendly service, lovely rooms and yummy breakfasts. I'm sure we will be returning to you when we can.

This is a very well run B&B, it’s spotlessly clean, communication is great before you arrive. Steve & Tina are friendly and great with advice. The breakfast is excellent, they only have a 45 min window for it from 8-8:45, which isn’t a problem for me but something to bare in mind if your not an early riser (though most people in the Lakes are up and about) Anything you need replenishing in the room you just ask for and it’s there by the time you get back. We were in room 1, extremely good sized, bed was a double & very comfy but we are only 5ft9 & feet at the bottom, not a problem but maybe check if there are longer beds in other rooms if you are tall.
There’s parking for 4 cars outside property & then a pass for the local car park 1 min walk away… go with this option if you are out and about in your vehicle during the day as it’s easier to get in and out of. Location for town is 5-9 min walk. Would definitely stay here again

Excellent B&B. Steve and Tina hosted us for the Fred Whitton challenge. They provided early porridge on the day of the event, let us store bikes in the dining room (and were relaxed about keeping them in our rooms - which is rare!) Great location and full English breakfast. Room 4 which I stayed in is more like a 4/5 star hotel room.

Absolutely loved staying here. Close to Ambleside center, free parking that can be used around Ambleside. I came in my van but it fits in a normal parking space so no issue. Lovely owners serving great breakfast choices and lovely to chat with. Catered great for me being Vegan. Highly recommended and will look to stay here again in future.

Lovely hosts and great location.. superb fruit salad (according to other 'arf). If the bed proves a bit short (6'r me) stick a pillow down the end. Really enjoyed staying and walking.

Can"t fault our stay one bit, everything was perfect. Steve was so helpful when we checked in. Room was lovely and clean and breakfast was delicious.

Would definitely recommend and I'm sure we'll be back ☺☺

Landlady looked after me and my polecat like royalty in this beautiful well run great value guesthouse I highly recommend it to many people and will continue to do so 👍 😊

Just to say thank you so much for a fantastic two night stay at this awesome bed and breakfast. Rooms spotless and and breakfast was most delightful. The plates where overflowing in hot well cooked food with great service and detail from Steve and Tina . Wee Charlie the dog is a wee pet lamb and the singer sawing machine onn the top land was so wonderful to see
