Being a member I would be barred if I did not rate this course as 5 stars. However I have had guests who were equally impressed with the layout. Lovely views over to Fife. Friendly and helpful staff. Practice bays , putting practice area etc. Catering facilities are also 1st class with a beautiful dining room with even better views . Some interesting golf history on view as well.

My wife and I were recommended to try this course by our local pro and it did not disappoint. A little pricey but well worth it-plus we were able to take a buggy w/o medical note as we had just gotten off our red eye from NJ. Able to get a quick bite prior to our round. Very relaxed atmosphere considering it's a pretty upscale membership. Jackets and tied required in the restaurant. Golf attire was fine in the lounge/bar. Course was well kept and we had a great round. Being right in Edinburgh we only needed a short cab ride from the Best Western Bruntsfield. Would play it again but we were off to St Andrews

A nice course, great variation between the holes and good conditions. Staff was nice, we felt very Welcome. It was a busy day so there was little waiting and we met some of the club members on tee locations. They made even the wait pleasant. After the round we relaxed with a driknk on the terrace. A course well worth a visit

Had a fantastic time playing a two ball with a member, who could not have been more helpful. Had great weather and enjoyed the layout. The course is in great shape and the staff is number one. My round was the highlight of my European holiday. Plan to return to check out the improvements.

Reception by staff was excellent and course in great condition for late March. Coupla winter greens and off mats but that was expected for the time of year.

I decided to play a local course while in Edinburg so I looked on the map and located Bruntsfield. I made a reservation on line for later that same day. I arrived a bit early, was greeted warmly, and was offered range Balls until my tee time. Once I was checked in the out of town 2 ball I was supposed to play with got cold feet about playing with a stranger and asked to play alone. The Pro shop attendant quickly found me a game with some members who were gracious enough to let me join.

The day was extremely fun and enjoyable. The members were very nice and helpful with local knowledge of the course and to the rich history of the Club and surrounding area. The Course itself was very fun and playable. The Condition of the course was very well manicured and greens speed was a bit on the slow side for me but not "slow" by any means. During the round I witnessed Deer running across the fairways several times.

After the round I was invited to have lunch with the members group, Since I had no Jacket or tie they were nice enough to lend me one for the dining hall. The Dinning hall is formal but friendly. It's the Old Fashioned you just don't find in the States. I thought it was very traditional and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
There was a buffet style lunch set up. I chose the Haggis, which was very Delicious. After lunch my Host offered a coffee and dessert on the second floor deck overlooking the 9th 10th and 18th Holes.
I can't guarantee that you will be Lucky enough to have a Lunch invite with members.
So when you book, I would recommend having the lunch with your round. Oh, and don't forget your Jacket and Tie.

The overall experience was amazing. I made new friends and Pen pals, and will definitely be visiting Bruntsfield on my next visit to Edinburg.

Excellent location near the city centre. Course is a joy to play, the management and staff very welcoming.

Make sure your timing allows lunch to be taken, remember this is a traditional club - collar and tie are required.

While on a hiking trip to Scotland, my friend and I decided we needed to play a round of golf. Prior to the trip I found that Bruntsfield allowed non-member play. Club Manager Callum Taylor cordially responded to my email request and set up a tee time for us. Everyone we encountered was very friendly and helpful. We were provided excellent rental clubs and very much enjoyed the round. The course was not crowded; we played in 3 1/2 hours using trollies. Afterwards, while enjoying a beverage on the veranda, Mr. Taylor greeted us and inquired about our experience. All in all, it was an outstanding day on the links.

Considering how busy the course has been and the volume of rain, it was presented in great condition. Much better than other parkland courses in Edinburgh

Fantastic views over the Firth of Forth and an enjoyable layout designed by Willie Park Jnr & Alistair Mackenzie. A must if you're looking for a course near central Edinburgh!!

Historic course that offers one of the best combined golf and dining experiences around. The 3-course lunch comes highly recommended.
