Bellis Cafe & Bistro

Stopped here for a meal on a Monday evening and was lucky enough to get a table, strongly advise people to book or you could be missing out on a gem. Both myself and wife had beautifully cooked steaks served by helpful friendly staff. We will definitely come back

We came here on the final night of our trip and it was just what we wanted after a week of pub grub. I had the salmon ceaser salad and my partner had the sea bass, which were both delicious and healthy. The restaurant itself is really cosy with a nice atmosphere and the server was really friendly. Would definitely go back!

Amazing food had the lamb cutlets and salmon risotto!! The special starter was also unreal!! Amazing service from Jess (I think). Thank you !!!!!

There’s a reason why this place have great reviews. The food was delicious. Me and my partner had the pork and chicken Caesar salad, the pork was the star of the show. Super soft and just melt in your mouth, thoroughly enjoyed. We both had the beef ribs, which was superb too. Highly recommend!

We had such a nice lunch that we rebooked for a 40th birthday tea! Great food, nice atmosphere, would recommend!

Perfection. I strongly believe that the michelin guide should give this little restaurant a view.
For a starter I took a special which was chili-garlic king prawns. They were cooked to perfection and it was fantastic.
My main was the lamb cutlets which was a hit.
My fellow diners gave many compliments to the salmon rissoto and the sea bass fillets, also cooked to perfection.
The service was amazing.
I couldn't have asked for a better experience.

Walking around Ambleside in the wet weather is no fun! .. so we went in Bellis for refreshments. Sat in the window on the two seater table watching the rain coming down. Ordered tea for two and coffee cake, only to be told that the cake was still in the oven. So I ordered Victoria sponge cake instead. Glad I did .. what a lovely cake, light and very tasty!
Even better when we came to pay, they actually took cash!! .. 5 stars!!

We stopped here on a big walk in the local area. Had a delicious lunch of a steak sandwich and halloumi sandwich and chips. Great quality food, lovely friendly staff and a very nice atmosphere. The perfect lunch stop. Highly recommend!

Beautifully presented food and atmosphere. Sweet little restaurant in the heart of Ambleside, shame we are leaving tomorrow... I would definitely go back!

Great food and service at a reasonable price.

But in the past when walking past we've been confused. The dark rich coloured decor gives cocktail/wine bar vibes. I think if it could just convey a bit more cafe/restaurant it could get even more attention.

The best restaurant we’ve visited in the Lake District. The food was delicious and the service outstanding. Our waitress even made us espresso martinis which were not on the menu. Absolutely superb.

Absolutely out of this world restaurant. The staff are very friendly and cater for all your needs. There’s not one thing at all I could pick fault with. Best dining experience of the last 12 months for me and my wife. Food is incredible everything cooked exactly how it should be… compliments to the chef.

Great place with good food and very testy. its a small place but very pleasant in the center of Ambleside. The meat , the risotto and the salad was very good. The service too. We back agein and its great.

Absolutely loved this bistro, from the decor, the friendliness of the staff and the amazing breakfast butty, best one I've had. I definitely want to revisit.
