Awesome shop, amazing staff who know their stuff. I only went to get my partner to try on some boots and ended up buying them there and then as discounts in store are not online especially at Christmas to hold stock and I grabbed a bargain pair of Scraper Mantas for £280. Plus if you have a blue light card there discount here and have a loyalty scheme. Look into it. I will be back for sure

Thus shop is my go to shop for outdoor gear in Ambleside. The staff are very knowledgeable- not pushy but just helpful and curtious. We bought some fabulous walking poles and micro spikes for the snow and ice to help us walking

Great range and first class advice. Bought a pair of shoes based on solid knowledge of what I wanted and I haven't been disappointed. These guys live and breathe the outdoors. The Climbers Shop is one on two shops in Ambleside I'd trust (the other is Cunninghams). Avoid the rest 👍

The best walking shop in the Lake District, not just Ambleside. The team - especially Paul - are so friendly and helpful, and the shop has an abundance of choice. I always pop in on my annual trips up to the Lakes, whether it's for a jacket, a buff, or (this year) new walking boots. Highly recommend.

I had a problem with a pair of walking boots that I'd purchased back in January. The manufacturer advised me to return the boots to the shop. The manufacturer decided to offer a credit but I loved the boots and wanted to give them another go. Paul, the manager, pulled out all the stops to obtain a pair for me from their other shop in Wales and had them posted directly to me. This saved me a journey back to Ambleside. The boots arrived not even 24 hours after he arranged the replacement. Such great service plus he offered advice on how to avoid grit penetrating the waterproof membrane. Fingers crossed they'll remain waterproof this time. Thanks.

Ordered a nordisk telemark tent from here.. super fast delivery from these guy's. Had a issue with the tent nothing whatsoever to do with the shop, rang them spoke to John who was on it straight away, received a call back tracked down what I needed received missing item ready for the weekend. Thanks so much John I appreciate everything you did for me I will not hesitate too Order again from you guy's. May pop in to Thank you personally next time I'm in Ambleside.

I popped in to The Climbers Shop whilst wearing a jacket I purchased mid 2021. whilst in there I asked if there is such a product to loosen a tight zip on the coat as it has always been a bit of a faff. They looked at the coat and instantly said that it was in fact faulty and needed to go back to ? ( a top UK brand) and instantly offered me an exchange once we had confirmed it was indeed purchased from them. I was then provided with exactly the same coat in exchange. Now I genuinely did not go intentionally with my what I now know was a fault jacket, so their customer service can only be described as first class. The staff clearly have exceptional product knowledge not only to be able to recommend and sell the products they stock, but having an eye for in my case goods that where not up to standard. Thank you, I will continue to give The Climbers Shop my custom.

Visited this store 30/01/22 with and had no intention to buy as I had problems with sore feet from the day before walk. Not unusual for me been happening for years. However a young lady who had great knowledge and skill fitted me with a new pair and revelation no pressure or soreness ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Service she even missed part of her lunch to finish serving us

What a great shop! All the staff are so knowledgeable and friendly with great customer service and a little banter thrown in for good measure. Amazing service today from Aled who deserves a medal for finding walking shoes that fitted my sister's awkward feet. Is product knowledge is second to none. Employee of the month award for Aled please!

This is the first place I head to when I go to the Lakes to stock up on outdoor gear. The staff are super knowledgeable about the products and always spend time helping me to identify exactly what I need. I've just bought my second pair of hiking boots from Climbers Shop because of the excellent service I received last time. I was up the fells the next day in my new boots and didn't feel so much as a pinch.

Had a trip to The climbers shop on Saturday to try on a variety of climbing shoes, the two guys who helped me were both extremely helpful and knowledgable when it came to finding the right shoes for me.

The advice given really helped me make sense of what I wanted to buy in a climbing shoe. I didn't buy on the day as I was off on a hike/camp however since coming home I have ordered the shoes from their online shop.

This is the second time I have bought from this store and it definitely won't be the last.
