Hollowgate Fish and Chips

Slight wait for fish to be cooked but worth it. Staff were very pleasant and it just reminded me of how chip shops should be. They have seating upstairs and toilet facilities, I highly recommend trying them out.

Absolutely beautiful fish and chips. Large haddock and chips ,they were plentiful. I got two scallops just in case the portions were small and l didn't need them. I still ate them though .🤣🤣🤣Great staff ,very welcoming and helpful.

Asked for small fish, beautifully cooked to order. Nice chips too. Cooked in beef dripping as well. Friendly and helpful owner. Only £6.50. Bargain.

Wandering around the pretty streets of Holmfirth with my French friend and came across Hollowgate Fish and Chips and well what can I say, we couldn't resist. The young lady serving us was lovely, helpfully telling us we could pop upstairs to eat them.
Generous portions, lovely crispy batter and the best scraps I've ever had.

Absolutely beautiful fish and chips with a gorgeous tasty gluten free batter. Cooked to perfection. Eaten from here twice now and have been impressed on both occasions. Well worth a visit and you can also order online for pick up at a designated time. Marvellous!

The gluten free night on a Wednesday is amazing. The fish is so lovely, its practically like tempura. No grease at all and the chips are brilliant to boot. I really like this place and they always are polite and friendly.

Had a very nice cod and chips,cooked freshly,for an extremely reasonable price in holme firth. Highly recommend.

My 1st ever visit to Holmfirth & this chip shop .Found the staff service to be very pleasant when ordering. Had regular Cod & Chips with mushy peas ,Very good size fish with plenty of chips which were delicious, bit strange having the peas served on top of the fish but this didn't distract from this wonderful takeaway meal !

Best fish and chips we have had in years we're from the South can't get decent fish and chis anywhere might move to Yorkshire. 🎅

I have stopped here for many years when passing through.
Today we made a special journey of 30 miles just for lunch.. I think that speaks for itself...

We called in here on Tuesday teatime for fish and chips and hand on heart I can honestly say, they were the best we have ever had. The cod was cooked to perfection and the chips were golden brown like they should be (not pasty white) and very tasty. Keep it up.

We called here on our way home. Extraordinarily good chips, young but pleasant servers, and the lady in the back has her finger on the pulse of the orders flying in. It was busy and impressive to watch. Huge portions.

The gluten free fish and chips are very good.

Great Chips. Decent chippy with a local feel. Decent curry sauce and spam fritter!

Called here on Friday night absolutely fantastic fish n chips. The young lady frying cooked the fish to perfection. The batter was light & crispy & tasty chips. Very welcoming & friendly service. Thanks again for our al fresco fish n chips 😍😍😍😍😍

Stopped for a bite as we got misplaced (not lost..just misplaced 😂) and it was the best chippy dinner we have had in years! The chips where delicious, the steak pudding was amazing and proper thick gravy! Definitely worth a stop...may need to get misplaced more 😋

Just what was needed after a 70 mile bike ride, descending from The Moss in freezing cold and needing some hot/fast food to warm up - 🥶.
