Excellent motorhome stopover. Had my birthday Sunday lunch and the food was excellent. Staff and owners gave us a very warm welcome. Would definitely recommend staying with your motorhome and eating here. Lovely walks into the New Forest directly from the pub.

Nice old fashion pub. Very good food with a small menu. Waiting time more than average. Prices average but low as for such a nice area.

Stopped off for a quick bite to eat had a stunning ham and cheese sandwich, bread really fresh crisp salad with a lovely honey and mustard dressing, proper thick cut ham and a tasty cheese. Served with crisp and fluffy chips . Very friendly staff it was mid afternoon Tuesday so we were the only customer so nice and quiet. Clean toilet nice looking pub

Came here with my sister pulling I because it was the first pub we saw, we were so glad we chose it! Great food, lovely atmosphere and the bar staff didn't mind when my muddy puppy bounced at them! The vegan selection was brilliant as well.

My wife and I visited this charismatic, dog friendly pub for an evening meal. The menu provided quality pub grub which was well presented. The staff were very friendly and efficient. We will no doubt be visiting again.

stopped with our dog in the middle of a walk at Friday lunch time, speedy service and lovely food. Great outside space, it started raining but didn't have to worry because of good quality umbrellas, would definitely recommend!

Amazing independent pub which is a great stopping point along several forest walks. Good cheap selection in the menu with lovely facilities and friendly staff. Large garden area with various play options and cozy interior.

Lovely back drop. Little walk in the woods and end up next to a fire pit, good drink and food. Reasonable price and nice atmosphere.

Great place..food was lovely and Staff helpful. As ever the only thing that spoilt it was young children running around and screaming..completely ignored by their parents..not the pubs fault but think a quiet word may have helped. I stayed overnight in the carpark and despite it being on a busy road slept well (once the screamers had gone!) Garden backs straight onto woods so an easy walk for the dog too.

The menu here is just what you want in a pub, classic dishes done very well. I had the pie of the day, (chicken, tarragon and leek), very tasty, served with a lovely creamy mash and vegetables. Followed by a delicious chocolate cheesecake. I was very impressed with the quality of the food and will certainly return. The staff were friendly and provided very good service.

Great H&S measures in place for Covid, hand sanitiser, social distancing etc. Nice big garden, dog friendly too. Lovely pizzas, delicious! Cheerful friendly staff. A wonderful place to stop for lunch when out in the forest. We're definitely going back, especially for Rose's awesome pizzas.

Popped in after a long Forest walk in Pondhead enclosure and wow the food was stunning. A simple sandwhich but with some subtle twists. Will definitely be back to try the full menu soon!

Lovely pub and very friendly staff. We visited on quiet night and stayed in campervan. Great access to Forest.
Garden in process of a bit of renovation when we were there.
We were very pleased to have vegan options but my burger was a bit overcooked and the sausages and mash could have benefitted from the addition of herbs/mild spices. Otherwise great and lovely to have vegan wines there!

Found this lovely pub at the end of a long walk in the New Forest. There is a large sunny garden at the back of the pub overlooking the forest. Had an amazing blue cheese, bacon and pear on ciabatta bread with salad and fries. Fast, friendly service. Good price. Can't wait to come back

We stayed here in June 2023 with our motorhome .
We had a lovely welcome from Jess and her team , lovely old world pub with a large beer garden .
A great menu , the food was just amazing , the best burger ever! ( the stirrup burger !) highly suggest u try that one .
Table service outside was fast , we were also offered water for the van which was a nice touch .
Would go again in the blink of an eye .👍

We went there after cycle in new forest. Nice stop for a lunch break but make sure you call the pub to get a table as they can get very busy on the sunny day. We had roast dinner and portions were nice size! Service good. We sat at the back in the garden. Back garden is dog friendly and has a playground for kids.
