Beautiful food, if a little cold by the window.
Fireplace looked very welcoming! Great Sunday Roast stop on the Brockenhurst to Lyndhurst loop, save for the back half! Sunday roast is offered in seating slots 12-2 and 2-4.

Lovely little traditional English pub.

We took refuge in here as the heavens opened and the low ceilings and warm interior were exactly what we wanted. Very cosy.

We ordered the beef burger and the haddock and chips. Staff were all lovely, service was efficient, and the food itself was very good.

The setting is beautiful and the inn itself is so welcoming and full of character. The staff were friendly, efficient and helpful, always full of smiles. The food was amazing, we did mains and dessert and enjoyed every moment! We were also able to tip using a card which is a real plus to me. Would absolutely go again!

Came here on a Sunday with my Cocker Spaniel (Casper) at 14:00 Without a reservation, the staff were very accommodating and led me to a great table.

Roast dinners were still available so I ordered the Pork Roast. I have to say it was the most exquisite meal I have had in a long while and will remain in my memory for a long time. Perfectly cooked and presented! Up there with some of the finest roast dinners I have ever had!

I love coming to this New Forest pub, which probably in my experience at least, comes in at the best value for money in the whole of the New Forest! I will definitely be returning many more times

On a busy and rainy lunchtime we arrived soaked after walking from near Lyndhurst. The pub was full so it took a while for the food to arrive. It was worth the wait - great sandwiches and chips. All the staff were lovely and the Manager Anita went above and beyond when we couldn't get an Uber for the way back. She insisted on driving us back to town, despite not having any reason to go there herself. Unbelievably kind. She made our day.

The burger was juicy and tasty 😋 It was a perfect place for lunch after cycling around there! The garden was lovely 🌿💚 The inside of the pub has a real old pub vibe, which I love❣highly recommend it🤩

Beautiful pub in a beautiful area. Stopped off here halfway through a walk on a sunny day and sat in the beer garden with a cider. Staff were very friendly. The inside was really nice and the food options looked great - we’d love to come back!

Cute pub in the new forest. My husband and I visited back in December 2021 and genuinely had the best fish and chips ever! We’ve been for fish and chips around the country on many coastlines and this has been the beat by far. I’m excited to visit them again and try out the rest of the menu.

What a cracking pub! A perfect cozy warm olde-worlde atmosphere with low beams and a log fire. We were met with a warm genuine welcome. Staff were attentive and accommodating. The beer was excellent and a country themed menu ensured something for all tastes. We enjoyed a relaxing lazy lunch and all agreed we will definitely return. Thanks

Good pub atmosphere, friendly and efficient service provided a great location for a family get together. All the meals were of a high standard and there was good range of choices.

We absolutely loved this pub. Super friendly service. Excellent food, super fresh and delicious. We had the trout, burger and falafel wrap. Has a great kids menu also. They have a nice beer garden our the back. Super friendly spot for cyclers.

I’ll be honest I’ve never been here, but I feel like it would be a great place to celebrate an unbirthday. I hope to make it there some day!

Edit to add it seems from another review that they allow cocker spaniels & I just happen to have 2. Being kind to a cocker spaniel makes you a wonderful establishment, now I don’t have to visit to know that you are. Although I’d still love to visit.

Always greeted with a smile when we walk in by Anita and the team. Fantastic food and everyone is more than happy to help. A regular stop after walking the dog. Love coming here.

Had a lovely meal at the Oak Inn, at Bank near Lyndhurst in the New Forestst. then a nice 3 mile walk in the forest itself. Service and food was excellent. The atmosphere is very nice and a good menu too.

Without a doubt, my favourite pub in England. The building itself, inside and out, epitomises the quaint countryside English pub. The food is top notch, striking a fine balance between sophisticated and homely. The service is always super friendly and incredibly personable. Can’t recommend this place highly enough.

Amazing place to relax and have a lovely meal. Nessled in the forest its a wonderful place with great atmosphere and the food is fantastic! Lovely staff really made us feel welcome and our little dog too. They even gave her some dog treats. Great value for money. Highly recommend.

Had dinner here on the first night of a New Forest break over New Years and was, arguably, the best meal we had there. Really nice & homely pub with a log fire etc, fabulous ambiance.

The food itself was amazing, with the game pie (main course) in particular amazing. They even brought us out (un-requested) a plate of extra roast potatoes and veg which was a nice touch, plus gave us a mince pie as we left.

Staff were great and helpful. Really recommend.

Lovely pub with great food & brilliant staff! Very dog friendly too so they earned the 5 stars! Definitely a reason to come back to Lyndhurst!
