The Fox & Hounds, Lyndhurst

The food was excellent. The chips were so delicious. Great slight crunch on the outside and thick and soft inside. The schnitzel was pleasant. A slight pinch of salt would have been better, but there was salt and pepper on the table.

The staff was nice. The seating area was also very nice too.

An extremely warm and welcoming pub, certainly one to visit if you are staying in Lyndhurst for more than a few days. The food is absolutely fantastic and they have an excellent selection of drinks on tap. A perfect place to stop in after a nice walk in the countryside..

We liked this pub so much that we visited twice on a weekend, for food and drinks.
Great pub food choices and a really cool design. The sandwiches we tried were delicious, and they had two different gluten free options. I tried the salt beef with emmental in the gluten free bun and it was very tasty. Highly recommended

Fantastic roast dinner, even extra gravy was provided which was great. Service was fantastic and they do welcome dogs, just remember to mention you have a dog and they will seat you accordingly.

One of my best pubs to wet my whistle... beer, food and great environment.

Popped in for a drink with the girls on my uni course when we visited the town for some studying on Wednesday. Staff in the pub were phenomenal, super friendly and helpful. The basket in the ladies toilet honestly sets this pub apart from any other ive been in and was a really nice touch. Will definitely be back again when I'm next in the area!

I must say that it's a very nice place but the haddock and chips I had was the Best batter I've eaten. Try one you will very surprised. I've never had anything like this and I've eaten tons of fish.

Very positive experience at The Fox & Hounds in Lyndhurst. The food was delicious and I would definitely recommend it. Good impression about the service and the furniture of the pub. You can seat inside or outside and you it's situated walking distance from all the main shops of the main road of Lyndhurst!

The staff are lovely, there's a roaring fire when it's cold and the food is delicious. There's a quiz night on Monday evenings (£1 per person) which is really enjoyable, beautiful cosy decor and dog-friendly (as long as it's on a lead and not in the restaurant part of the pub).

I would recommend repeatedly!! Lots of space and still with a sweet cosy feel!

Baby friendly! Changing facilities and high chairs. Classic pub grub but much nicer than your average pub grub. Decent selection of beers and good toilets. You can tell a lot about a pub by how good the toilets are and what kind of beers they have on tap. If I was local I'd come back here over and over again.

Quick edit: the chef special fried squid was amazing and the pickled onions in the burger were a delightful surprise!!

What a great place in a lovely little village. We had few dishes to share for lunch and they were very delicious and tasty. The drinks and service were good too. It was a great time and we recommend it! 😊

A fantastic pub to visit on a very wet day. The look and feel when inside is very warm and lovely. The staff were very friendly and the loos were nice and very clean.
We ordered 2 chicken and chips, 1 baby back ribs and 1 bacon and brie sandwich. The food came out in good time and was very nice. The bill was more on the expensive side but was well worth it. We parked in the village car park behind which doesn't cost much. Definitely recommend. We will return next time we are down this way.

Just so happen to swing in here to shelter from the rain downpour. Ended up having lunch and staying for a few drinks. Very dog friendly. Dog received a lot of fuss! Club sandwich was mega and took an effort to finish it all. Would highly recommend. Delicious. Good service and good prices. Will definitely be back.

This wasn't your ordinary pub food. It was amazing! We would definitely return!!

What an amazing pub , we visited Lyndhurst for a day out and popped in for dinner before we left to go home. First impressions was very good ,the COVID procedures in place were impeccable we were asked to sanitise and fill in a track and trace app before being shown to a freshly prepared table. All staff were friendly and attentive, a nice touch, a QR code for the menu and the cutlery wrapped in the napkin. We both ordered the ‘chicken burger which came quickly piping hot and delicious. Lots of staff asking if we needed anything and cleaning used tables ready for the next customer and a very attentive manager checking everything detail.what more could you ask for in these worrying times I whole heartily recommend a visit to the this pub and a thank you to the staff for a top experience.

What a find. Finding space for 5 and two dogs for Sunday lunch and seeing owtons meat on the menu gave a good feeling. The Sunday lunch was amazing. Meat melted in the mouth, cauliflower cheese absolutely delicious and the rest of the veg perfectly cooked and presented. Topped off with a delicious bottle of red and superb service. With the big public car park behind just perfect.

cheerful quick service both me and my partner agreed it was the tastiest meal we've had in a long while even the kids finished every bite will definitely be going back 👌
