Ethiopian Skylight Hotel | Bole Dildey

To the General Manager Danial at the Ethiopian Skylight Hotel. Wheelchair-friendly, the epitome of Customer Service, and Hospitality (much better than southern hospitality) goes beyond the standards of luxuries. The employee's level of professionalism and service is a big part of their culture but it speaks volumes to the leadership and high standard that is commanded from the GM. I was a visiting guest during the 24 AU summit and my family and I were treated like one of the most prominent VIPs during this time. Thank you Daniel for holding the same standards of hospitality to every employee and every guest regardless of our status in the world! You differently are one of my greatest leaders of all time! I've learned a lot in such a short time watching you lead. Thank you for a magical stay!

Being close to the airport, you can actually get to the airport on foot from the hotel in less than 10 minutes. The hotel is spacious and the rooms are comfortable. You can relax at the balconies. I enjoyed the food served at the restaurant. Bathrooms have kits including toothbrush, body lotion, shampoo and a vanity kit. I always enjoy the complimentary assorted tea items in the rooms.

Really such a beautiful and wonderful hotel. I had the pleasure of experiencing the rooms in both building blocks during my transit to and from my destination.

The hotel has every amenity possible gym, restaurants, coffee shop, retail, church, swimming pools and so much more.

I would love to stay here outside of transit visits because the food they give the guests that are paying looks so good and I wish I could’ve enjoyed that instead of the transit guests buffet, because that food is awful.

I recently had a layover in Bole Dildey and stayed at the Ethiopian Skylight Hotel. First things first, this place looks amazing – it's totally 5-star with some really fancy decor and super comfy rooms.

The room I got was really nice, with a big bed and all the stuff you'd expect in a fancy hotel. The view from the window was pretty sweet too. I heard they have a great pool and gym, but didn’t get a chance to check them out.

Now, the food was good – they had a bunch of different options, and everything I tried was tasty. The breakfast buffet was a win with lots of choices, which is always cool.

But here’s the thing – I kinda felt like there was a different vibe for people like me who were just there for a transit stay compared to guests who checked in on their own. It wasn’t anything super obvious, but it was like the staff were a bit more formal with us transit folks and didn’t go out of their way as much as they did with other guests. Not a big deal, but it was something I noticed.

Despite that, everyone was still pretty nice and helpful. Check-in and check-out were smooth, and they made sure we got to and from the airport without any hassles, which was great.

All in all, the Ethiopian Skylight Hotel is a pretty cool place to stay, especially if you're in transit. It's got all the fancy stuff you'd want in a 5-star hotel, and it's a comfortable spot to relax before your next flight. Just keep in mind that the experience might be a tad different if you're not a regular guest.

Very nice hotel with excellent facilities and close proximity to the airport. If you get a chance to visit the hotel you will be impressed by its cleanliness and availability of amenities. Well trained a polite staff.

Travelled from Toronto to Karachi recently. I would say this airline is highly underrated for the route. Their prices are unbeatable and service is outstanding. For long layovers, they offer complementary stays in their 5-star hotel with on-arrival visa and shuttle. Throughout, their staff was very humble, unlike you would encounter at Emirates/Qatar/Others. Also, had a small glitch in online booking and their social media support team resolved it in minutes. 5 stars!

A wonderful ,unexpected surprise... compliments of Ethiopian Airlines due to my 11hr layover. Shuttle bus to the Hotel with two meal vouchers. A beautiful room and Buffet meals. Thank you for making this trip comfortable and special. 💛

this is truly a 5 Star Hotel. Staff is very friendly, Supporting and attentive. Cleanliness is Super. Location just 3 minute from Bole International Airport. Shuttle service is also there. Food and Beverage Quality and Varieties are plenty that cater travellers from all over the world. Awesome. Skylight please keep it up because maintaining is the very important.

Great rooms, excellent location very close to the airport, food could be slightly improved by diversifying the options a little bit to meet the variety of the customer base… which is global, with Addis being a major Africa hub.

Great value for a stopover with Ethiopian Airlines. Better than I expected. Well equipped gym and it was almost empty as no one else was interested in exercising. I made full use of it. There's also aswimming pool but I want interested in it.

THE AIRLINE DOES NOT ACTUALLY BOOK YOU IN THIS HOTEL FOR THE LAYOVER. I’m sure some passengers get lucky, but many others get informed on arrival that they will be staying at a different hotel. These hotels are cheaper, less clean and further away from the airport. If you want to ensure that you can stay at Skylight during your layover, be smart and make your own reservation.

Recently stayed at Ethiopian Skylight Hotel and had an excellent experience. The hotel's modern design, comfortable rooms, and top-notch amenities exceeded expectations. I was pleasantly surprised as I stayed here on an overnight transit. A vast improvement from the last time I took up Ethiopian Airlines transit facilities. The processes are mostly stress free, other than the massive queues. The hotel is 5 mins from the airport. Modern and clean with basic necessities like toothbrush, soap and shaver provider. There is that awkward bag search as you exit which I did not enjoy... I generally do not enjoy being treated like a criminal. I did not eat though I had a voucher for both dinner and breakfast. Even the wake up call was polite and professional.

Nicely designed hotel with more than 1000 guest rooms and 19 outlets.
The hotel is big and has many facilities.
You can have many options, Ethiopian traditional restaurant, Italian restaurant, Chinese restaurant, night club, swimming pools, pool bar, cafe, spa, barber shop and many other.
I had tried the buffet lunch, has many varieties of foods with yummy taste. Hospitable service, staffs are very attentive.
Plenty of car parking space.

The room very good and clean stuff very kind and helpful restaurant have good for fair price I recommend anyone who wants to stay near by airport very good service and international standard hotel I give 10/10.

Great standards, cosy and large rooms with enough space! Very clean with great food and a very helpful staff.
If the Blue Jazz Bar (especially) and the pool (maybe) could be open at late hours, it would be awesome! However, I enjoyed every second of my stay there, and I'll be back very soon!

The Rooms are great! Massive and luxurious! This was given as a layover hotel and I must say they have done a fab job. Only thing is, if you are a vegetarian, get food from the other restaurants and pay, as the free meal doesn have much of a choice. But otherwise definitely would recommend

An absolutely fantastic place for a long layover, the rooms are spacious and clean but for me it was the service, I have never experienced such amazing hospitality anywhere else the staff are the most courteous helpful people I have ever met in a hotel, if I could give more than 5 stars I would.

Great place to relax and enjoy life. I love the hotel. The room is spacious and great. The bed is soft and comfortable. The internet works very well. The view from my room is delightful.
