Beautifully done with a lot of parking and resting places. Restaurants and kids play areas available.

It's a great place. If you run every step, you will run a marathon. At the day you have to pay 30Birr. At night the place is closed.

The place for public celebrations - but on a quiet day it is a joy to walk around, enjoy the views and take a breath.

It has got a surprisingly new underground parking below, very modern and clean.

You can also see it from Entoto Park, on a clear day, which is very nice.

Beautifully designed open space. Famous for public gatherings during holidays and events. If you like to take a stroll or just sit and watch the busy surrounding, I would recommend late afternoon/early evening. There are some food trucks if you feel like having something to eat.

Mesqel square, gets it's name from the mesqel celebration held yearly at this square, which marks the finding of the true cross.

Mesqel square, is a place where you wittnes such a harmony, between the rushing cars on the big main road, the buses that are busy boarding and dropping off cross country buses (the square is one of the places where long travel buses meet their passengers because it's a convenient spot for the entire city).

What I really love about the square and the 3rd activity that catches the eyes is the people working out on the stares, running eadge to eadge and playing soccer on the open space.

On top of all this right ahead your view you can wittnes the sky scrapers of the city which is set out to be the financial district of the country.

In short, it's one of the hot spots that you want to check out while you are in the city!

Named after the celebration of the finding of the true cross of Jesus Christ which is celebrated at sept 26 nd 27 by the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo church, Meskel Square is owned by the church. Yet it is a center for holding various national gatherings nd events. After it's renovation about 2 years ago it has become a great site to spend time with friends and family. Being located at the center of Addis makes you get a glimpse of the city's rush hour and also enjoy the fresh breath and beauty like the true name of the city. Especially a night time visit is suggested.

A great touristic place with a great view both of the city, the train station and the main roads. The parking is huge and ready for thousands of cars. There are small boutiques outside with snacks,quick burgers and fruit juice.

Nice place to sit at night, relax, meditate, watch the sky and the city

It was nice to visit Meskel Square in the evening/night. Many sellers for the foods and the food are delicious with the reasonable price.
