Beautiful place the young lady at the entrance of the museum was very polite & her English was very good .
She talked to us and supplied us with all the history & information before we entered. Inside there were loads of photo opportunities and we had a very informative & delightful visit.😎☘💚

The fortress is atmospheric with beautiful views around. The museum inside is so small that we had to wait in a line for other visitors to exit first.
The receptionists at the entrance were kind to give a short explanation about the exhibition in English/German/Spanish, however I wish I could read more details inside too. Unfortunately all descriptions were only in Spanish :(

"Castillo de San Gabriel really lights up with Christmas cheer, a true hidden gem! We spotted it from our hotel, glowing like a festive beacon. Plus, the view of the city and the sea from the castle is top notch."

Don't expect a museum to explore though. It is quite small ;)

The cash machine was broken so the entrance was free, which is always nice (otherwise it’s 3€). The descriptions were only in Spanish but the member the of the museum staff explained us a bit about each exhibition at the entrance.

Worth a visit. We didn’t have to pay as machine was broken so left a donation. The guide explained it all in English. Lovely views

If you are interested in the local history and understand Spanish (all info only in Spanish), then it is a must when visiting Arrecife

Nice castle for a short visit. It is a history museum as well with interesting information about the island. There are not so many things on display, and the information is only available in Spanish though.

Gorgeous views and worth a visit. You’ll learn a lot about the history of Lanzarote and pirates.

Castillo de San Gabriel was built to protect the inhabitants of Arrecife from the pirate attacks. Nowadays it hosts a museum of archeology and ethnography. It is accesible by walking and I totally recommend you to visit the museum and climb up to the upper part where you can enjoy a magnificent views of Arrecife

It is a nice walk from the cruise ship depot and gives you an excellent view of the surrounding community. I found it a good place to hire a taxi driver to go up to the volcano. Often outside the port gates the drivers are slightly cheaper and less high pressure to add on other experiences like wine tasting because they are not incentivized to force you to those locations.

A place where you can see the geological stratification and the grandeur of the nature. Worth visiting, you need a car to get here and the access is convenient. Wide paths so you can bring someone in the wheelchair to visit and to enjoy. Easy to find on Google Maps and really good navigation. Convenient stop on your way to the north of the island. Really close to the main road.

Very interesting museum built in an old castle.

Plenty of information to read so you can learn about the island and its history. Everything is in Spanish so that may be an issue for some.

Guides are very friendly and knowledgeable. Worth a visit as there isn’t much else to do or see in Arrecife.

For €3.00 you can learn a bit of local history 👍. Nice to visit plus the card machine was broken so we were allowed to enter for free 😀👍
