Update: I was there three times! The prices are completely reasonable and fair! Also, I’ve been collecting games for years. I’ve never seen so many games, cases, systems in such excellent condition!

Amazing place. Back to the 80s and 90s with an amazing collection of PAL, NTSC and Japanese cartridges of some of the best consoles of the golden age (SNES, NES, GB, Mega Drive/Genesis, etc). Staff very friendly and helpful. I know I'll be back!

Very nice place to visit! Friendly staff and very knowledgeable, got what I needed at good price. (PS VITA). Offered one year warranty and came with a memory card, pouch and the charging cable.
They have every single console in stock, all generations of Nintendos, xboxes, gamecubes, playstations and more! Games and controllers too.

Very nice store! Lots of pal and ntsc-j rarities but also common tites. Very fair prices (often below common ebay prices). The owner definitely knows his field, and also commonly changes save batteries on games he sells. Hope I will have the chance to come back.

The owner and the employee are kind, the atmosphere is good, the prices are fair, just left with Animal Crossing: New Horizons :)

Great place full of retro games !

After moving out from France to Cologne to pursuit my studying dreams in video games, I had the chance to meet the owner of "retrospiel", semi-accidentally passing by the store as it was the only retro game store I could find in Cologne. I was immediately delighted by the sheer amount of passion exhibited all over the walls of the store. Some true marvels that I had never seen in my life but had come to know so much about from my own personal research. I have been gushing about the selection ever since! The owner is without a doubt one of the most passionate and kindhearted people I have ever met, always ready to come answer questions in spite of his obviously very tight schedule.

It might not seem like much, but occasionally seeing people carefully clean out games for pricing while you shop really sets the ambiance in stone. As an absolute retro gaming fan who did not get the chance to grow up during the SEGA days (I was born in 2002), I was finally able to feel like I was right there when everything came out. It felt THAT good to go through the store. In spite of the numerous retro game/second hand stores we have in France, retrospiel in Cologne simply is my favorite game store, heck, favorite store ever, no matter the country. The memories and passion sweat off the walls, I CANNOT stress that enough.

On top of it all, the games and consoles are really clean, very well preserved and in most cases in superb condition. Not to mention, fairly priced!! I honestly do not recall the last time I felt this much like I was in heaven.

At the risk of being overtly emotional regarding my experience, I would give 6 stars if I could. If you have a retro gamer heart, there is simply no better place to go in the NRW region.
