St. Aposteln

Very peaceful and well kept church. The church was closed at the foyer. Maybe because it was all set for a Christmas service. However, you have look through the gates and admire the architecture and art. We saw people praying and lighting candles. This place gives hope and peace to those who seek it. We spent about 15 minutes here. You do not have to pay any fees, but to respect the place.

Very neat looking church from the outside, very close to the Neumarkt. Plenty of area around it, with interesting spires going upwards, and tall glass walls.

We came upon St Aposteln unexpectedly on our way somewhere else and wow! It's beautiful. Unfortunately they were just closed (between 1 and 3) so we couldn't go inside but we'll be sure to come back.

From time to time they do have some nice music events that brings peace. If you are nearby when they have something just entered and enjoy your time. Normally no fees required but at the end you can make a small donation that they can continúe making this type of events.

Beautiful romanesque-style basilica. Though the original church, dating as far back as the middle ages, was bombed to bits during WW II, it has been rebuilt in the original style and is one of the many architecturally and historically important romanesque churches in Cologne. Every Sunday morning St. Aposteln offers a Latin High Mass for those interested in more traditional Roman Catholic services.

Very aesthetic church. Didn’t get the chance to go inside, but we enjoyed looking at it from the outside.

Beautiful romanesque church. There are works being done which take away from the experience but overall a very beautiful and special. When we went there wasn't anyone else (we went at noon) which was nice also

Very beautiful cathedral, super large scale and solid construction, has to be seen in person to appreciate. Cologne in a good place to visit while in Germany

St. Aposteln is a Roman Catholic church and one of the twelve major Romanesque churches in the city of Cologne. The three-aisled church is located in the city center on Neumarkt between Hahnenstraße and Mittelstraße. It is characterized by an elaborately designed triangular system, in which two flanking east towers are integrated. Opposite them is the west tower, which, with its approximately 67 meters, is the third highest tower of the Romanesque churches in Cologne. The cloverleaf-shaped choir building is dominated by a short octagonal crossing tower, which is crowned by a lantern. The transept of the nave is connected to the west tower by a short, barrel-vaulted yoke.

Very nice church

One of the 12 Romanesque churches in Cologne with 3 apses making a trefoil plan. Ungortunately, when I've visited it, the main nave and chorus were closed.

Very peaceful place, if you are religious. Still a good place to visit.
