Amazing bar in the heart of Hamburg! The iconic Basil smash was invented here so I had to try it! Everything was exceptional and the place is very chic! They had a very big list of champagne too. Definitely worth a visit.

What a lovely cocktail bar! Despite living in Hamburg for years only tried this place yesterday and was very impressed. You need to ring the bell and we ended up having to wait a few minutes to get in. Once inside a very pleasant gentleman appeared out of nowhere to take our coats to the cloakroom so no queue or hassle. Then another waiter beckoned to some chairs as soon as they were free and there was no need to stand at the bar (quite full on Friday night) because we could order from our seats. Water was provided and topped up….the basil smash cocktails were delicious the atmosphere very pleasant and a varied crowd of unpretentious 30 to 60 somethings…….will definitely be back, as there is nowhere in Hamburg remotely like it!!!!!

Le Lion is easy to find right in the center of Hamburg.
Arrived just a bit after they opened for the night so got a front row seat at the bar. When I arrived there were just a few people but within half an hr it got busier pretty fast. So I guess best to go early to avoid crowds. I ordered Mandarin negroni. It was well mixed and all flavors nicely balanced.
Bar has quite upscale vibe. Service is attentive but not overly familiar.

Small but lovely. The outdoor seating on the street during construction was fun. Attentive staff, plenty of water refills, great drinks and tasty canapés.
The basil smash is always refreshing and the mandarine negroni was just right.

We were lucky to find this bar in this Hamburg trip.

The bar itself was smaller than I expected, but the wine and food were great! Also as other people have written here, the stuffs were very friendly.

We paid 52 Euro tip included.
4 glasses of wine and ham and olives.

It was cool that you have to ring the doorbell to be in the bar. It is a modern take of speakeasy but too minimalist. The house drink- gin basil smash is delicious but other drinks is good but not spectacular. It is so loud in there that you can’t carry a conversation. However, I still recommend that you should go there while in Hamburg.

Second night in a row at this very unpretentious bar with an outstanding service from the moment the door is open. The crowd is well mixed, expats, Germans, locals, tourists ..That music list was last night great but tonight is even better. So glad this is a non-smoking bar compared to the rebelious bars in Berlin where smoking seems to be the norm. Imppecably clean toillets all night too.

The cocktails, delicious with and without alcohol. The canape/finger food do the job but could be improved. The champagne is luckily not Möet at all.

In any case, thank you Augusto, Denis and rest of the team for some great times.

The Oasis for drinks in Hamburg or call it a Institution! For our friends from the UK, here is where you get your Espresso Martini, for all others, good luck to find a drink they can’t serve ;-).

Outstanding quality, nice atmosphere...but stick to the 3 drinks rule ;-)...

A classy bar with a speakeasy feel and wonderfully crafted cocktails. The servers are very friendly and attentive. Get there early, because it gets busy, but don't miss this place.

A modern take on the speakeasy, Le Lion offers a nice selection of boutique and classic cocktails amidst its stylish wood panelled rooms.

Very crowded but inside is fine.
Gin Basil Smash was really good.
Sazerac was also good but can feel too much absinth for me.
It is so sad that i could not try more.

One of my favorite bars ever. Every drink I've had here has been just amazing. In addition, there is a very stylish ambience and simply perfect service and advice. For me a must visit whenever I am in Hamburg. I can only recommend it as a pleasant way to end the day.

Very good cocktail! They have a good gun selection to go with your tonic. I had the celery smash gin, recommend it. You can also order canapes, for those who want finger food. You just need to ring the doorbell and wait for a minute. If you go as a group, definitely should make a reservation.

best Martini in town !!

Le Lion is the best bar of Hamburg. There’s a new drink in town, it’s called “It’s not a walnut”, a very smooth, creamy egg-nog orange perfection. Try that!

Not taking cash money. Highly recommended.

Try a Basil smash or (in summertime) a La Boum.

Exactly what I expected. Coming from NYC, so great to know there are awesome bars like this here in Germany. The ever classic Gin basil smash was aaaaaaaamzing. For all smokey whiskey lovers, I highly suggest the “Kamin-Kick“

Upscale place to have a great cocktail and if you are lucky to meet interesting people.
