ALEX Hamburg

Was here while on a business trip. Had the "Hamburger Pfannfisch" and the "Gebackene Apfeltorte". Both were delicious. The service was quick, friendly and it was great to see that dogs were allowed.

Lovely currywurst sat outside under the heater with gluhwein and a bier. Nice location, lovely staff and good atmosphere.

Great location by the lake. The breakfast buffet on the weekends is a nice idea but tends to get a little busy

It's a very complex place, it offers a nice place to every guest.
The food, drinks and cakes are perfect.
It's a real place to chill out in Hamburg.
It's a "must visit" place if you are in Hamburg.

Short wait to get in as there was a small queue. Staff were very pleasant and helpful, buffet breakfast was excellent.

Nice for late evening drinks and dessert. The service was unexpectedly attentive and pleasant. Not the widest selection of spirits, but drinks menu has something for everyone. Also in nice location and at least in the evning, enjoyable atmosphere!

Waitress very helpful and friendly, her English was excellent helping us to make our choices. A credit to Alex. Unfortunately we didn't catch her name, she was tall with dark blonde hair in a pony tail. Merry Christmas to all at Alex.

The best view any cafe can offer. This place needs no introduction; it's always full and on nice sunny day, you might need to wait sometime for your turn. Good beers and food options. Best for a pitstop after your shopping. English speaking staff but a bit too busy, you need to work hard to get their attention. Cheesecake can be improved, coffee is usual and burgers they serve are very nice.
Edit: I have been here by now countless times and found that they have really good cocktails and my favourite is heartbreaker :D loved their veg burger and staff have been more attentive in my later visits and my experience has been perfect since my first review years ago. Their brunch is good too if you can make it before 11am. And not to forget the best view and vibe this place offers in the city on any day. Its just amazing

The bartender kindly served me an Amaretto Sour as requested - although they don't have it on the menu (yet). 👌🏻 It was delicious

Here you have a very nice view, with good quality food. The prices are normal. Enjoy the day there :)

This gorgeous bistro spread across three foors boasts envious uninterrupted views. It was a very cold day to be walking about the streets of Hamburg. Not to mention that just about every shop is closed on a Sunday, albeit a few. Alex is blessed with lovely attentive staff and delicious freshly produced food. I came in my wheelchair and managed to access the lower floor via a lift. Since I was in Hamburg, I had to try a currywurst! Wow, what a scrumptious treat that was complete with golden fries. The prices are surprisingly reasonable and there are a lot of choices...

VERY nice brunch!! Sunday until 2PM. There is a well stocked buffet. We were there in May with a chill in the air and rain but sitting outside was comfortable thanks to tons of open air heaters. We could people watch to our hearts content. Highly recommend

I understand having a drink menu and a specialty cocktail offering, what surprised me was requesting a drink, in my case, a dirty vodka martini, and being told that it wasn't possible.
The reasons being:
- The bar does not have olives
- No olives, no juice
- Vodka wasn't typical but they could substitute
- I wasn't able to select the vodka I preferred
- Only a lemon twist was used as a garnish
- Really???? An establishment of this size? With a full bar and bartenders?

Germans cheese history and love of meats makes a dirty martini the perfect cocktail post or pre meal!!!
