Visited the aquarium here.

They provide free lockers to store your things in and have a range of animals that you can interact lively with as well as a large tank. The atmosphere is beautiful and during the weekdays it is not busy at all.

Would definitely come back!

Good zoo, animals clearly well looked after. Polite staff and good facilities. Close to the train station so it’s easy to access from all over Hamburg.

We went on a quiet day, had the takeaway cafe, basic food but it was welcomed as it was a very cold day, tasted great.

I really enjoyed the experience. If you're passionate about reptiles and all sorts of fish, then you're in for a treat. You'll even find the Goliath birdeater (although he was hidden and I couldn't find it) Lots of families with small kids too, lots of young and old couples alike.
Totally recommend it

Wonderful zoo. Very peaceful and tranquil. Beautifully laid out. I had a very enjoyable afternoon here with my ten year old daughter. Highly recommended. Not too big and not too small.

This is a really good zoo! My boyfriend and I try to visit zoos wherever we travel and this would be one of the best zoos we've been to!

This zoo has a really interesting range of animals, some of which we've never seen before. The enclosures are mostly really big with naturalistic habitats for the animals in them, and are still good for viewing and spotting the animals.

The polar world is particularly good, with really lovely habits for some seemingly very happy animals!

I particularly love the free range animals of chickens/cockerels, Guineafowl, and Patagonian Cavy, and peacocks/peahens. It's really nice to have them running around you and playing in the open grass areas.

There is a lot of greenery in between the enclosures and wide open spaces which makes for a lovely, peaceful environment! I will say that there isn't an obvious walking route around the zoo, there are lots of little paths here and there, which meant we did have to go back on ourselves multiple times to make sure we saw all of the animals. However, a positive of this would be that it may help to reduce a congestion of people.

We went on a Wednesday and it was not very busy. There weren't any queues to get in or for any of the coffee and food places.

We didn't go to the aquarium, it is quite pricey to buy a ticket for both the zoo and the aquarium so we decided to just go to the zoo.

Nice and very tidy zoo park, nothing like what we have in Cyprus. Very spacious areas. I have revisited now in November 2023, after 4 years, and my impression is still very good!

This was part of our visit to the zoo we decided to buy tickets for the aquarium aswell without much expectation but we were surprised by how much fun we had.
It's got a large outdoor area with birds and other animals before you go down to the aquarium which is very much educational and great for kids.
The ending was the winner with a huge cinema style glass with numerous different breeds of fish and other sea animals.
All in all a great visit and lots of fun to be had by all.

It is Awesome ... Must visit. I recommend it to everyone.

It is famous for being the first zoo to use open enclosures surrounded by moats, rather than barred cages, to better simulate animals' natural environments.

The Tierpark Hagenbeck has almost 1,400 individuals from all continents who have found a home in the vast enclosures and the lovely, botanically rich park. A variety of young animals, including Hippo, Lion, pampas hares, mandrills, and Barbary newborn babies, can currently be observed. The baby elephants are a particular highlight.

A trip to the Arctic Ocean, where animals from the North and South Poles can be seen, is also an unforgettable experience. A breathtaking underwater perspective provides an excellent picture of polar bears and fur seals. In addition, the walrus will greet you with his on-going activities."

The place was wonderful! There were lots of animals and a lot of walking around to do, but very nice. A few of the nicer animals were even free to roam around the park! We bumped into the same peacock a few times. The animals looked interested and engaged and the enclosures seemed comfortable and nice to them. There were very large indoor enclosures for elephants and orangutans, etc. Definitely a lot to do and a lot to see for animal lovers.

A must visit and well worth the price! My partner and I had the most wonderful afternoon at the aquarium. This isn't a complaint for me but there weren't as many fish as I expected, much more reptiles and amphibians- my favourite. You enter into an area were little ring tailed lemurs freely wander around which was a great start. With many of the exhibits you could see multiple view points of the enclosure, front or from above/behind. This meant you had a maximum chance of seeing all of the animals. They even have secret hiding holes you can see inside of in case an animal wants to chill in the dark. There's a room with hundreds of bats flying around behind some mesh and munching on some fruit- this was probably my favourite exhibit. There was a massive variety of fish and sea creatures to watch further into the aquarium. My partner's favourite animal at the aquarium were the spectacular lion fish. I don't think I've ever seen so many adorable stingrays in one place before! There was a massive viewing room that you could sit and watch fish, rays and sharks for hours. It was so peaceful. Everything about it was exciting, beautiful and loads of fun. Get yourself there!

Tierpark is quiet big with lots of animals including lion, kangaroo, elephant, penguins and many more. It was even better than the zoo in Berlin.

Most beautiful forest like setting and an unforgettable experience. You can feed elephants, alpacas, baboons and very demanding goats by buying bags of vegetables for a donation. The aquarium entry is an extra 10€ on top of the 20€ entrance fee but absolutely worth it, the main large aquarium is jaw-dropping. Food and drink are readily available all around the site, snack meals around 4-5€ drinks around 3€.
Goes without saying this is a brilliant day out with children.

In the park you can see all kinds of animals, birds and vegetation and all corners of the world. is a route of 3-4 hours. In the park there are restaurants, bathrooms, various kiosks with pancakes, ice cream, juices and water. admission costs 20 euros per person and for Water Park another 14 euros is paid. they also have an offer for both at 30 euros but they did not tell me when I took the tickets. you can feed the animals, so it's good to take some carrots or cabbage to you.

One of the best Zoo you find in Europe 🇪🇺 8 acres or more with over 1400 animals throughout the park. Fantastic aquarium as a bonus future as well as additional cave tours to go too. Price on the higher end but still worth the money 💰.

Amazing! Cost €30 for both the zoo and aquarium/ safari but it is worth ever cent. Perfect for locals and tourist alike. The zoo closes at 4.30 but the aquarium/ safari experience is open till 6. Took us 4 hours to see everything this beautiful place has to offer so wear good walking shoes and a fully charged phone/ camera. You don't want to miss a thing.

So glad I went! One of the elephants came right up to the trench. It was amazing to see it up so close.
All the exhbits seemed very clean. It was really cool to see the animals so close, especially the penguins and the elephants.
