A great hotel with views over the city or sea. Breakfast was good by Cuban standards. Not in the old town but good location anyway.

Stayed for 2 nights in Melia from 23rd July to 25th July.
The hotel is old yes but the overall experience was great, I was amazed by the hospitality of the staff, they have 4 restaurants and the food is amazing.
Everyone knows that cuba has shortage of everything but still the staff was so helpful and happy going.
The location is good and in 10 dollar we can reach to downtown havana ,I loved the service of their tour booking counter.
The aqua grill at pool side had amazing food and so do the Mediterranean restaurent.
Overall I am very much satisfied with the service, the staff and the location.
Definitely will visit again.

We have returned to Melia Cohiba after 16 years and found the rooms beautifully refurbished, very comfortable, AC and everything functioning well. We had a very caring and special house keeping lady Yuneisf. Swimming pool perfect, concierge highly skilled and helpful Mailet, many thanks. Unfortunately Habana Cafe was closed and breakfast had limited variety of food. Overall a nice experience!

I spent my 1st 2 nights in Cuba here. Best decision ever. Great hotel (rooms aren't luxurious but they're ok). The staff was just amazing. Helpful & friendly. Having a tourism desk right there was exactly what we needed cuz we had no concrete plans about what we were gonna do during our 7 day stay in Cuba.

We had a great stay here for 3 days as part of our honeymoon. The staff were so kind and went out their way to make sure we had an amazing time. A bottle of presseco, free entry to the their club (Havana cafe) and a room upgrade was a great added extra they gave us. The room had great views of ocean and city from both the room and the bathroom. I used to love taking showers looking over the whole city.

The pool was just the perfect size, although we didn't use it too much. It was nice to be greeted there with a towel. The drinks prices were I suppose expensive for Havana but compared to England prices were relatively cheap - a cocktail and Rum and coke was like 12 cuc (just over £10).

A great touch and something we were not expecting after reading lots of reviews about Havana is that they provide WiFi throughout the stay in public areas and in our room. This is literally from what I read unheard of in Cuba. In our next hotel we paid approx £1 an hour.

One negative is that the room needed a little bit of TLC as there were some minor repair issues but we're not big enough for us to even mention and did not effect us at all - this is literally just an observation we made.

We stayed here one night cause to delay with our plane. It was really not a bad place to stay in. Great rooms, shower and bath. The food was also really good. Friendly staff and great services. !

My Husband and My son stayed for 5 days. The hotel was immaculate, the service spectacular, the food really awesome specially the breakfast with the nice different music every morning, the staff extremely kind and efficient, we really enjoyed our stay and recommend it to anyone who wants to have a beautiful-relaxing vacation.

For the standards of Cuba, must be the top. Service, view and accessibility at its highest. Civilization and internet. In the heat of the day, they let us rest in the lobby cafe, communicate with our family and get something to drink and eat. Expensive but totally worth it!
You can also exchange money or buy a wifi card.

Great place in Havana. Food was exceptional and the entertainment in the upstairs bar was awesome. Cheap bottled water is available across the street. $7-9 cab ride to all the great Paladars (in private home restaurants) I will definitely stay there again if I come back. Ask for a non smoking room on a low floor as the elevators are very slow. Bring a flash light for power outages.

I have been there in 2009, problably the best hotel in town. Good service, good staff. If you consider the hotel is in Cuba, with all the dificulties they have, it is worthed a 5 stars. You can book a room there and wait for an excellent stay.

Have had the pleasure to stay at other Melia properties in the past. With Caracas Melia being one of my all time favorites. As I was planning to attend the Festival de Habanos in Cuba was pleased to see several Melia properties in Cuba. I chose to stay at Cohiba Melia as it seem to be right in the middle, in between the conference palace and the old Havana. Both 10 mins away from the hotel.

Not far from the airport 20-30min drive. Straight forward drive.

I stayed there for seven days. 25/2 to 4/3

The Cohiba Melia didn't disappoint. The Melia quality service was as expected. Friendly staff. Always ready to assist. Always checking how my stay is going. From bell man, front desk, waiters, bartenders to room attendants.

Clean Spacious Rooms with Mini Bar. Free internet. However the internet works best in the lobby. It does go off and on. Daytime it is spotty. Best time was either early morning or late night. However it is ideal if you just want to just check on emails. Maybe they should pump the wifi signal a bit. But it did the job.

Plenty of restaurants. I personally liked the restaurant around the pool.
The breakfast buffet every morning had an extensive variety. Should definitely be a must for every guest.

Didn't take advantage of the shops inside the building except the casa de habano which was ideal for a smoke and a drink. Live entertainment every night i was there.

I found the small shops at the back of the building handy for some last minute shopping.

Plenty of taxis just in front of hotel, either regular ones or the famous taxis. Any time of day, day time or late night for cruising nightlife.

The building outside does need some love but the moment you walk in the lobby you forget about that.

Overall this is my new favorite Melia Hotel.

Awesome breakfast and Cigar bar. The Havana Cafe always has something interesting with the salsa dance and performance from one of the Buena Vista social club veterans. This Cafe overlooks the Malecon road with the most magnificent ocean walls I have seen - Said to have been built in the 1940s before the revolution.

Very nice and clean. I went here to the cigar room and restaurant to have a drink and watch an NFL playoff game. Seems like the hotel itself would be ultra expensive.
