Sol Bakery Tamarindo

This is one of our favorite places to eat in Tamarindo! We haven't tried one thing we didn't love, from the tacos to the grilled chicken salad to the smoothies to the gluten free carrot cake! It's all so good. The music and ambience are relaxed and inviting. The strategically placed fans keep air moving so you can cool down in the heat of the day. The service is wonderful. We have been here a couple of times and will keep coming back for more!

So normally with so many restaurants at a vacation destination I never go to one twice but Sol Bakery has been my one exception. I have eaten here every day for the past 3 days and today will be day 4. I have NEVER done that before but this place is hands down the best place I've eaten at in Tamarindo. I've tried something new each day and have not been disappointed yet and don't envision that ever happening. I have 2 more days in Tamarindo and plan on eating here both days and trust me, I work for the largest food distributor in the world so I eat at restaurants multiple times a week at least 26 weeks of the year so I know what I'm talking about.

Just WOW!

Seems to good to be true, but my rating is honest. Being from Copenhagen I’m used to nice bakeries and cozy spots. This fits the bill! Really nice atmosphere, brilliant service and amazing food. We went twice in this 3 day stay. I recommend! (Get the classic eggs benedict and the french toast)

Amazing breakfast and coffee. Best oat milk latte and pastries. The chocolate croissant and banana bread were delicious. Recommend the fish tacos and sol omelette breakfast.

Hands down BEST CROISSANT I’ve ever had! Everything was incredible. We ordered dulce de leche and almond croissant, an açaí bowl, a tica breakfast & 2 cappuccinos. The rice, beans, eggs, avocado and the sour dough toast were just amazing.

Best place I have had breakfast in CR so far. Thank you for the delicious food and lovely vibes. 🙏🏼

Our tour group did an impromptu goodbye breakfast here on our last morning. They were fantastic and were able to accommodate us by pulling together a few tables. The service was solid and they did a great job despite it being a little busy. They got our orders correct and out pretty consistently even though a few people ordered at different times as they got there. The coffee was delicious and the breakfast burrito hit the spot. A nice outdoor spot too.

My family and I stumbled upon this hidden gem after surfing at Tamarindo Beach. We’ve been coning down to Costa Rica for years now.

Situated in an alley in downtown, the bakery has a small but delightful breakfast and lunch menu. We tried the Ham & Eggs Croissant, Fruit Pancakes, Avocado Toast & my personal favorite - The Fish Taco plate.

The fish tacos were the best I’ve ever had…no really. The plate was colorful and inviting with just the perfect mix of ingredients. The mahi mahi was perfectly cooked, the pickled cabbage was bright and provided perfect texture.

All of the dishes were wonderfully presented. We sat under shaded umbrellas with lovely potted plants next to us. The staff was friendly and the atmosphere evoked a sense of tranquility.

I highly recommend the Sol Bakery and Cafe to anyone looking for breakfast or brunch. This is my first restaurant review, I’m so grateful that it was done in Costa Rica! ❤

Sol Bakery is currently my favorite place to eat breakfast in Tamarindo after living here for 4 months. I’ve made it a point to try them all, and Sol takes the cake, literally. Everything on the menu is phenomenal and has great flavor, from their coffee to their desserts. Don’t just visit once during your trip, or you’ll miss out on something you missed the time before. My favorite: Chicken Eggs Benedict

Best breakfast we had in Tamarindo so far. Nice, relaxing atmosphere. Good breeze to keep us cool. Order at the counter and they’ll bring to your table. Very good service. Peanut butter chocolate banana smoothie is excellent. Eggs benedict was delicious. Gallos pintos very good. Definitely recommend.

The coffee & ambience were 10/10. The breakfast burrito was good. Out of all the restaurants on the strip I would recommend Sol for a breakfast run.

Everything that we have tried has been amazing. Best coffee that we had had in Tamarindo. The baked goods and the food are delicious. And the staff is very friendly. We highly recommend this little spot on the path to El Mercadito.

It was all very yummy! Wasn’t disappointed. I was scared at first? But in the end it was great! Everything was cooked perfectly and the service was A+! Atmosphere is was very city like! Definitely give it a try.

Beautiful place to enjoy your morning in Tamarindo. My favorite is the double chocolate chip cookies with an iced latte (sometimes with caramel😋) but they always have amazing new things to try like pecan pie, passionfruit tarts, etc. and they also have really good croissant sandwiches!

Excellent coffee and pastries. We had brunch and the quality is great for Costa Rica. Staff were friendly and service was fast enough.

I have been in Tamarindo a couple of days, and have been here more than a few times.
Really like the variety in their tasty cakes.
And will definitely go here again!

AMAZING bakery! This bakery is on par with bakeries in France. You can grab a bakery item from the window or order from their menu. I got the avocado toast and the chicken eggs Benedict and they were both superb.
