FLORA VEGAN CAFE

This was our favorite dining experience in Tamarindo! It’s located right next door to Iguana Surf which is where we had lessons all week. We stopped in every day of our vacation to get their smoothies, and delicious vegan breakfast burritos.

Love the downtempo electronic music (think Rufus Du Sol). Love the shade and fans to cool you down after a day at the beach. Love the owner who is so nice and friendly, spoke English / Spanish, and works harder than anyone we’ve seen in Costa Rica.

Absolutely a gem.

This is my favorite restaurant of about 1000 restaurants in Tamarindo. Why? Because it’s locally owned. It’s delicious. It’s beautiful and open air with a lovely breeze. It has a lovely back story. It’s in a perfect location; you can see the ocean while you eat. I had the best avocado toast of my life here. And then there is the waitress, Wendy, who is an absolute doll. She asked for my name and used it. She smiles and is friendly. She is positive energy and light. And this restaurant is nice reprieve from the high end American owned restaurants that feed overly rich Americans while keeping local Costa Ricans who work in them poor.

The restaurant is 100% vegan and 100% delicious. (Yes, even non-vegans will enjoy it!)

The food was great, they have an all day breakfast, but you can order anything off the menu at any time. Lots of healthy vegan options as well as some comfort options. The croquettes were just average, but the rest was excellent. Only criticism is the food takes a little extra time to come out. But in the end worth it. As for the look of the place it's super cute and they have parking in front that is very convenient seeing as sometimes it's difficult to park in tamarindo.

We loved this little vegan cafe in Tamarindo. They have a creative menu and the food was so delicious. They have beautiful decor and lots of great drinks including smoothies, cold craft beers, and more. I highly recommend this spot!

Such a lucky discovery to have found this wonderful spot! We attending surf camp at Iguana Surf next door and we came to Flora Vegan Cafe for breakfast and lunch both days. The food options are diverse with amazing quality, and the atmosphere is bright and lovely. Wendy the owner is so friendly and delivers unparalleled service. 100% stop by to this great little cafe when in Tamarindo!

Fabulous!! Great food and service. Cute ambiance. Cauliflower tacos for a snack, a green smoothie and and ice coffee. Hit the spot yummy! Located right across from the beach by the lifeguard shack.

Amazing little cafe tucked in between two buildings across the street from the beach. Had the açaí and sunshine bowls and they were perfect on a hot day after surf lessons. Try some of the kombucha as well, very tasty! Would highly recommend!

This is our 5th vegan cafe while in Costa Rica and all of them were fabulous. Flora Cafe is easy to find and access. It has a beautiful ambiance, delicious food and drinks. We also had a choice of different spicy sauces that enhanced our food since both my husband and I love a bit of a kick in our food.
The service was fast and personable. We will be back in the morning to get coffee and pastries. Thank you!

Friendly service. Delicious food with lots of different options from super health to indulgent. Highly recommend the chori pan (a little oily from the chimichurri) and the breakfast burrito. Prices are a bit higher than other options in the area but the portions are generous and everything is vegan so definitely worth it.

We ate here for most of our meals while in Tamarindo & loved it! The whole experience is incredible. Friendly place with fresh food, unique recipes & easily some of the best tasting plant based food we’ve ever eaten on our travels. I was also thankful to be able to purchase a CBD relief lotion here after injuring my neck & back surfing. Can’t say enough good things & are very happy to see people providing healthy food options!

Went for lunch and had the chorizo sandwich and cauliflower tacos. Both were absolutely delicious, and you can try 3 types of chilli sauce to go with your meal. We went just after I fell down a path and grazed my knee quite badly. The staff were so kind and even got my some antiseptic to put on the cut! Highly recommend.

Cute little place. Many vegetarian and vegan options. Staff were very friendly. They had CBD flavored water which was refreshing. Salad was very delicious. Would recommend and would eat here again.

This was my favorite place I dined in Tamarindo. Menu is great with some variety of higher protein items (noticed this was lacking sometimes for vegan options in the area). Wendy was so sweet and the view on the beach is phenomenal. The second time I went, I got a free sticker and a hug 💕 as a solo vegan traveler, Flora's is a must when visiting Tamarindo.

expensive, but so is all of Tamarindo. Everything we ate here was delicious. Especially the tofu burrito and the best french toast EVER!!!

One of the only all vegan restaurants in Tamarindo, but you'll love it even if you aren't vegan. The food is delicious and the staff very friendly. We wish they were open for dinner too. I recommend the cauliflower tacos, choripan, yuca croquettes and oreo cheesecake.

The staff is wonderful! Get the banana peanut butter smoothie with an espresso shot - DELICIOUS! We will be back

Beautiful outdoor cafe, across the street from the ocean. We ordered Sunshine bowl and a Howler Monkey Smoothie, they were delicious and very fresh! Loved the vibe, the music, and the excellent service! Super friendly and very welcoming people working here. I definitely recommend this place

So good- food, vibes, staff. Wish we could have you open up a cafe in our home town. The food is just so good- a nice middle ground of real healthy food and also some vegan comfort food. We tried several items during multiple meals and it was all so yum. My only critique is the that some of the descriptions could be improved a bit- for example the "french toast", while REALLY tasty and "would order again" was not at all like french toast I'm familiar with. But if you are on the hunt for yum vegan lunch in Tamarindo this is the spot.
