Horsejungle

This was a wonderful experience. The horses are well treated and very nice. Our guide was so kind, she told us many interesting things about the nature in Costa Rica. She loves the plants, animals and you can feel it. We were galloping on the beach, crossing the river and had a really unforgettable experience! <3

Had an amazing experience at Horse Jungle. When you arrive there will be a gate that you have to enter a provided code. Drive down the dirt road a little bit and you will see where the horses are kept. The horse was great. The scenery was amazing, saw a ton of Howler Monkeys and birds. The best part was going along the beach. Definitely recommend going. Cash only.

Our guide was really fun and spoke both Spanish and English, we got fresh "Pipa" coconut water too 🥥

My horse was called Mellow and she was very sweet and well tempered.

Make sure to wear and bring bug-sprey as you do ride through some jungle areas with lots of foliage and the horses do attract bugs.

The ride was nice and went through a river, some forests and a beautiful beach where we were given the option to gallop.

We booked with HorseJungle (Jan 24, 2024) for
a 2.5 hour jungle tour… which included a forest incursion, beach galoping (if you choose) and leisurely trot along the way. We saw Monkeys, vultures, Hawks and always some input from our lovely and knowledgeable guide Sandra. Towards the end of our journey, I noticed my horse slightly limping, informed our guide who immediately attended to the horse (named Evran) who had a huge rock wedged in his front horseshoe…. Sandra wasted no time and dislodged the painful rock.
The horses are healthy and well taken care of.
I stress that you must be healthy to ride a majestic animal like a horse!
We had a great 2.5 hours…. I’m 63 years old, my wife 57 with no riding experience and it was a fun outing in a beautiful setting.
I definitely recommend.

Great horse back riding excursion. You can tell they love their horses. I rode Mushu, he walks slow but gallops fast, really fast. Best beach horse back riding we have done.

We traveled to horsejungle from Tamarindo. It was about a 2 hour ride but it was very enjoyable. We had a fantastic time riding the horses. My 7 year old even got to ride her own. They matched us very well with the horses. The river, jungle, and beach experience was absolutely beautiful. We would recommend this to anyone who wants to do a fun family horseback riding adventure.

Our tour with Horsejungle was the highlight of our week in Costa Rica. We did a full day horse riding tour that included three beaches. Melissa was great to communicate with and set up the private tour for the two of us with just a day’s notice. She sent a pin of the location and we were able to get there with no problem using Waze. Our tour guide was Sandra and she was just awesome. She helped us feel comfortable with the horses since one of us had just a little riding experience and the other one hadn’t been riding in years. It was clear that she loves animals, cares about the horses, and loves the region that we were in. She pointed out different animals and plants along our route. We got lucky and saw several large groups of howler monkeys. Sandra did a wonderful job of balancing checking in to see if we were comfortable and allowing us to handle the horses.

The full day tour included three different beaches with a long stop at one of the beaches for a tasty lunch, a swim in the water, and a break for the horses. We took the horses into the water to cool off. We had a funny moment as one of the horses decided to lay down in the sand and roll around.
The horses we were riding clearly knew the area and seemed to enjoy the beaches. They broke into canters on the beach without prompting and we loved letting them run along the water.
Overall, the whole experience was an absolute blast. We highly recommend it as a great way to see the natural wonders of the region and also learn about them from a knowledgeable guide. You get to see so much more than would be possible just on foot or from a car.

This place was very easy to work with. George was my guide and he was very attentive, kind, knowledgeable, and more. I liked that these guys took good car of their horses and never over worked them. I took the three hour tour and I think it was a perfect amount of time. Galloping on the beach was a very special moment for me.

Such a cool experience. All of the horses were very calm. Yes very slow, so great for inexperienced riders. My 6 year old was able to do it.

I had the pleasure of experiencing Jungle Horse's Buena Vista Beach Tour yesterday; I strongly recommend it.

I am well into my 50s, not an athlete by a long shot, and the last time I rode a horse was more than 50 years ago for all of 15 minutes if that. Regardless of being the most novice of novice riders, I had a wonderful time. My horse, Blue (or maybe Bleu as her owner is a lovely French woman), was so very gentle. The young man leading the group on his guide horse was engaging and pointed out flora and fauna along the way. We saw crested caracara, monkeys (from a distance), egrets lounging with cows, parrots and more. It felt so very good to be immersed in nature.

Do make time for this excursion if you're in the Samara area.

We looked at riding all over Guanacaste and found this Gem! Took a fun ride from Coco to ride with HorseJungle. Wonderful experience, Tipi and Bleu were great horses. Staff was knowledgeable, patient and kind for first time in a long time riders. We had no idea the trip we were in for, truly got to see Samara and the entire area on our trusty steeds.

Great views, the beach was beautiful. My horse was a little lazy, but then again I did pay for a nice slow day in the saddle. My guide was awesome. I don't remember her name, I told her I wouldn't remember it. I'm horrible with names. She was French.

Absolutely fantastic experience for a family of 4. It was very easy to arrange, and our guide Soren was the best. The horses are obviously well cared for. Beautiful ride through the Buenavista River, jungle and the beach . Highly recommended!

Our guide, Laura, was a gem! She was knowledgeable and friendly and adapted the ride to each riders’ experience and needs. The horses were well mannered and sweet. We saw many different birds, flowers, and while riding in the river bed, passed a mom and baby howler monkey that weren’t more than 30 ft away! The Buenavista beach was secluded and pristine and it was such a blast to gallop on the sand! The best horse back riding experience my fiancé and I have had!

Amazing horse ride through the river and to the beach. The guide shows and explain things on the way and gives you freedom to trot or gallop on the beach if you feel comfortable. The horses are well trained. We had a lot of fun! Even though, the tour said it included a boat ride and it didn't.

Melissa made all the difference for our 9-yr old daughter on this tour, who was initially hesitant to take the reigns on her own. Melissa led her for the first half of the ride, which gave her the confidence to take the reigns herself.

Our 11-year old son really wanted to gallop, but we were happy to take things a little slower. We did get a few short gallops in, which Melissa checked in with us to ensure we were all feeling comfortable.

We highly recommend the tour.

Great experience and very friendly and helpful guides! We took the 3 hour ride and got to cross the river and walk on the beach. They were quick to respond to our last minute reservation and did an early ride.

I have to say the French woman who owns this business is extremely cool and oh so pleasant. I went with my daughter on an hour ride. It was such a beautiful experience. We went through the jungle stopped by a river for pictures and watched the monkeys. I highly recommend this for children 10+. My daughter love every minute of the ride and she led her own horse.
