Hotel Casa Buenavista Bed and Breakfast - Costa Rica

Excellent stay at this family-run boutique hotel just steps from one of the best swimming beaches in CR. Room was comfortable and well-equipped, breakfasts were great, and Vincent helped us out with transfers and tours. We stayed for 6 nights without a car and it was just fine. Playa Carrillo has enough restaurants and a couple small grocery stores; everything we needed for a relaxing, beach-focused stay. We will definitely stay here again and highly recommend for those looking for a chill time.

Very kind owners. They helped with dietary need for me when I didn't feel well. Breakfast was good portions and good food. Atmosphere is lovely. Pools are clean and well cared for. Rooms are clean and attractive. Tropical shower is special and very pretty.

The adults only factor here is key to its peace and tranquility. I would recommend a car if your staying longer than 2 days. We loved our time here. Short walk to the beach. Very caring owners. Great breakfast. Clean and updated rooms. Would recommend for anyone looking to relax.

Wonderful place on earth. Convenient location: close to the beach, restaurants and small supermarkets. Rooms are spacious and well equipped. I liked the outdoor shower a lot. The pools are a bonus. Vincent, family and staff are extremely friendly and helpful. When I‘m on Nicoya peninsula, I‘ll stay there again for sure.

This quaint and charming family- run boutique hotel is a dream. The rooms are spacious, a/c, our bottom unit had unique covered outdoor shower. Milly makes one hec of a breakfast for very little cost. Two pools in the courtyard and two cats! Family and staff ensured our needs were met and made suggestions for exploring. Within short walking distance to beautiful Carillo beach. Amazing amazing. Will come back here again. Very impressed with this establishment and location! Highly recommend. Can't say enough good things! Great care has been put into these high quality accomodations and decore!

Great people are running this beautiful place. Rooms are brand new and there are 2 pool areas.
Breakfast is made to order and really tasty. Milly and her family were knowledgeable about the area and helped with good tips and reservations for tours. We will definitely stay in Casa Buenavista, if we come to the area of Samara again.
The beautiful beach is pretty close, approximately 5 minutes from the hotel. Very good restaurants are also close by.

If you are looking for one of the best places to go and enjoy yourself with extreme comfort then this is the place to go. We loved every minute of it. Extremely central to restaurants and groceries. Walking distance to the beach. The hosts are amazing and have a wonderful team supporting them in providing the best service possible. The breakfast was really amazing and the pos were comfortable too.
On top of all of this, the battery to our vehicle died. It was not rechargeable so the owners gave us their battery which was comparable with ours so we could get home on a Sunday with our family.
All I can say is thank you to the amazing team there.
Do yourself a favour and stay at this location.

We loved our stay here. Milys breakfast is amazing. The sandwich was my favourite. It’s very quiet here, which is nice. Lots of restaurants in walking distance. And a small grocery store. OK, this is a perfect place to unwind, relax, easy to find, close to good food, and amazingly kept facility, Vicent and Milly absolutely dote over you , always asking is everything ok, OK it's perfect, room for parking, walking distance to Carrillo beach, very happy we found this Oasis, and will definitely return...

Bicycle tourist here. The owner offered for us to keep our bikes close to our room, but I’m pretty sure they will let you take it inside and to your balcony if you ask. This place is special because it’s an adult only hotel, so it’s very calm and relaxing. They have a few rules I place that make it a fantastic place to relax. Restaurants and stores close by.

Amazing place. Way too good of a deal. Beautifully kept, extremely clean, seems brand new. Fantastic views if you get an upstairs room. We saw a ton of birds. 2 amazing pools. The whole place is like a garden.

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay at the Casa Buenavista. Both Vincent and Jan were super friendly and took the time to ensure we really enjoyed our stay. We booked massages through the hotel which turned out to be great. The breakfast which cost $10 a day per person was delicious and worth it. The room was comfy, clean and well appointed. There was two pools available for guests to use. We noticed the housekeeping and grounds staff/crew seemed happy and were always friendly with us, a good sign that the owners/managers treat them well. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again and would highly recommend it.

This is my third long term stay at Buenavista and I hope to return over and over. A truly amazing place from the staff to the grounds and location. Breakfast is delightful, and every room is well appointed and cared for. I've stayed every section and room type and every one is clean, beautiful, and a great value. Every stay is comfortable, peaceful and private, I cannot recommend this place enough.

Beautiful stay with an amazing host. We spent three nights here in mid June. Very clean and tidy apartment with airco included, spacious shower and patio next to the pool. 4mins to the sea. Breakfast were also nice - rancho style (rice, eggs and various sandwiches) with sweet jams and toasts. The host was super friendly, giving recommendations where to go and which places worth visiting. Very nice time we had.

This will be our "go to" hotel when visiting Playa Carillo. We'll run by a German family, good breakfast (will provide gluten free options if you ask), clean rooms, reasonable prices, and friendly staff. Within walking distance of the beach and a few restaurants.

Absolutely beautiful with just 12 rooms and 2 pools. Fantastic breakfast included. January 2023 update: We enjoyed our last stay so much we went back again and were not disappointed. The hotel is well kept, spotless and the breakfast is fantastic. I do wish the neighbors had fewer (or quieter) dogs.

Absolutely beautiful! Stayed there in march for 5 days, and everything was fabulous. Honestly the cleanest, most thorough room service i’ve ever seen. There are two very beautiful pools open late into the night, perfect for day or night swimming. The owners were so helpful and accommodating. The town and beach was beautiful, and overall this was the best vacation i’ve had in a while, all thanks to casa buenavista!

We absolutely loved our stay here and would highly recommend it! The hotel is the best we saw in Costa Rica and one of the best overall. It is a small family-owned hotel. New, beautifully and smartly designed, with beautiful pools, friendly owners and staff, an amazing tasty breakFast. The absolute highlight was our room with a tropical shower. Beautiful and peaceful beach is located in 7 mins walk from the hotel
