Hotel Peace & Lodge

Hotel peace and lodge will complete your tikan experience. My partner and I stayed for 8 nights and we enjoyed all of it. We will most definitely be coming back because it’s an experience that will clear your head from all worries and truly have you at peace.

- Great views (above Carillo beautiful mountains and sunset/sunrise)

- Amazing food (Adrian made some of the best food I’ve ever had)

- Fantastic service (Angela & Luz treated us with such kindness and Laura was super nice in every aspect.)

- phenomenal vibe (a beautiful pool right next to the restaurant allowing you to eat, swim and enjoy the view all from your table.)

This place is a hidden gem! Great calming energy, lovely pet friendly peoply, fantastic food (had my best pasta in Costa Rica) and a very nice view. Go and enjoy!

Such an amazing hotel. The views are amazing the staff was so kind and accommodating. It's quiet and a great place to stay. The rooms were very clean and the breakfast was hearty and delicious. As everyone else has said you MUST have a 4 wheel drive to get to the hotel and be prepared for some seriously concentrated driving because it is not easy getting up the hills whatsoever. Also listen to them when they tell you not to follow the GPS at the end and go with their directions instead. That's the only downside but it was worth it for us with the experience we had! Very strong wifi as well

Highly recommend! Best of all the worlds. Amazing views from rooms and any location at the lodge in general. Serene vibes, elevated above the village in the mountains with ocean and cloud views. Spectacular sunsets over the ocean, enjoy from your porch hammock or swing. Restaurant on site has fresh and high quality food. Excellent bird watching. Excellent price point. Don't follow GPS or Google directions, save time, stress and your car and only take directions from the lodge. My favorite in Costa Rica on my 2 week trip.

Great place. Good atmosphere. Amazing view. Clean and nice rooms with enough space between other guests. Silent at night. Be careful when you want to reach this place without a 4wd. The round is steep with gravel. You need balls to get there. Wish I stayed there longer!

I had a very good recharge here. As other people mentioned, the view here is amazing. You can see both sunrise and ocean, which is not very common at the Pacifica side. This is not your typical hotel stay, but you feel very homey here. It’s a bit drive up, so make sure your car has enough power. But even driving, the view is nice. Host is very informative that she sent me the navigation instruction in advance. Also allowed me to store my luggage after checkout. I will come back if I ever need a break from busy life.

One of my best places I've ever stayed. Wake up to the best view on in the world: misty jungle mountains on one side, beaches and ocean coastline on the other. The bungalows are cozy, comfortable and well furnished and there is a bar and restaurant with great food so you don't need to go anywhere. Laura, the owner, is welcoming and helpful and knows all the best things to do in the area. It's only a couple km to Carillo and Sámara but you feel like you're in another world up in the hills. It's very peaceful and an animal lover's paradise. Highly recommend getting off the beaten tourist path and experiencing the real pura vida up at Peace and Lodge.

My fiancé and I stayed here for 6 days. We actually extended our stay because it was so nice that we decided not to go to monteverde and just stay in samana! The owner and her team are wonderful people. We loved everything - the rooms, all the meals they prepared, and the happy animals made it feel really special. We hope we can go back someday! a tip to other travelers is that we would recommend a 4x4 car

Wonderful, quiet, safe, relaxing place to stay. The views of the ocean from every cottage are amazing. The owners were here to take good care of us. 10 min drive to the beach. But you will want to have 4 wheel drive to get up here, it can be done without though. They cook delicious food and have a nice bar. Perfect place to get away from the crazy crowded beach towns.

As the name suggests, the place is super peaceful, calm all the way at the top of the mountains. Make sure you have a 4 wheel drive. Breathtaking views from your room. Nice little pool. Great hosts. The only thing they can work on is to improve the breakfast and lunch menu. My kids loved the place and did not want to leave.

Difficult to get to without (preferably) an off-road vehicle. But, that’s what makes this place wonderful. The view from the Hotel is excellent and it feels completely private. That’s because it essentially is.

The pool is immaculate and the surrounding wildlife is a pro. Birds, monkeys, coatis, etc... It’s all here.

The rooms are clean and cozy, with ample space to relax on the patio attached. My host even offered to drive me down to town to catch a shuttle in the morning, free of charge.

Lastly, incredible breakfast with a view.

If you’re in the area or in nearby Sámara, I recommend a night or two here. If you’re lucky, you’ll get clear skies over the Pacific Ocean.

We can't say enough wonderful things about this beautiful place. Cedric and Laura were very gracious and accommodating hosts. Such a laid-back atmosphere. We almost had to force ourselves to leave and explore nearby. The accommodations are simple and elegant and such delicious food! The moutainous night sky view afforded an amazing view of a starry sky I have never seen before. We would definitely return again.

*Please be advised that your gps may take you to the incorrect road leading to the hotel. Please be absolutely certain to bypass the mountain road and heed the sign for Hotel Peace and Lodge with an arrow pointing down the road to the entrance at the bottom across from Playa Samara.

This place, while off the beaten path, is a little piece of paradise. Quiet, secluded, relaxing, food and wine. All of our needs were met and we would go back if in the area again.

Wonderful hotel and get away! This is not a place you are looking for if you want something right by the beach. In fact it is quite a drive up the mountain to get there. But that being said it is a like a little piece of paradise on Earth. The rooms had beautiful views of the ocean and surrounding forest. Owner was very hospitable. Had great meals for dinner and breakfast. Fast wifi. Massages were available as well but did not have a chance to try it out.

My family owns a place near here and everytime we go we HAVE to visit Peace and Lodge. It is truly like no other. Everytime we go, we eat either lunch or dinner there, but most of my family has stayed here as well and can't say enough great things. It is quiet and intimate and the service is incredible. Just make sure you call before going for a meal, as they have to get everything ready for you.

Truly an amazing place to stay. Costa Rica is as close to paradise as you can get. And within Costa Rica, Peace and Lodge is the best of the best. Great rooms, great grounds with a pool, excellent food, amazing hosts, great photo opportunities and much more!

We very spontaneously decided to visit Samara and found this amazing place by accident. I contacted Laura the owner via WhatsApp and had a reply within minutes. She was very responsive, kind and very helpful. We confirmed our stay for two nights and arrived only a couple of hours later. We were greeted by a fabulous team, everyone was super kind and welcoming. Our room was already ready, even though there was not much time to prepare it. We had a bungalow with a balcony and sea view, it was simply stunning! We received great recommendations what to do in the area and the sunset tour we booked was great. In the evening, we relaxed at the bar, had some drinks and freshly made food from the own kitchen. In the morning, we also received a fresh breakfast with bread, jam, egg, bacon and a lot of fresh fruits. We had a fantastic stay and would absolutely recommend it.

Make reservations on WhatsApp, not phone. Laura has a magician in the kitchen. We had 5 different dishes between us and all were spectacular. The view is unmatched in Carrillo.

One of the best places to spend your time in Costa Rica.

The food was excellent. The view is exceptional. The room was exquisite.
