El Colibri Hotel & Steak House

Very, very nice people. They went out of our way to help us. I felt like family. We stayed for 3 nights and ate at the 5 star restaurant! I've never had a steak this good! You could cut it with a knife and the flavor was out of this word! We also enjoyed the 2 swimming pools! I highly recommend this this place!!!

Fernando and Roxana run the best place i've stayed at in a long time. The most courteous hotel staff and restaurant was to die for order the steak and I am from Montana where they have excellent beef, but this beat where I live. We also had the ribs with an orange mustard sauce that was excellent.

We had to cancel our reservation at another restaurant because the New Year traffic was so heavy. We happened to drive past El Colibri. I'm glad we did because they were able to seat us quickly and the food was great. We split the platter for 2 and it could have easily fed 3. Definitely recommend.

We have stayed at this beautiful small hotel and loved it. Tonight we visited just for dinner. We live in Costa Rica now and can happily say they have the best steaks we have had in any region and every appetizer, main and dessert was outstanding! Love this place!

This is the best restaurant in the area. They had ample amount of staff to provide excellent service in a timely manner. Also a great wine list.

You should make a reservation if you want to g for dinner, they are usually full.

ok, so first of all, we did not stay there but we were in the restaurant part. The people, the drinks, and the food were so good. The staff was so nice and friendly, the drinks were made so good. and the food ( OMG) was so good, with so much flavor.

In the top 4 meals I've ever had. And the other top 3 meals were from there too. I'd fly to Costa Rica just to eat there again.

Went there for dinner two nights in a row. Steaks were excellent. The flank steak was the most tender flank steak I’ve ever had. We brought fresh caught tuna from our fishing charter trip and they made three appetizers and fantastic grilled tuna steaks for us. Service was also great.

That must have been the best tenderloin steak I’ve ever had. Cooked to the point it melted in my mouth. Veggies and sweet potato fries were also very tasty and well prepared. Good wine, attentive service.

Amazing restaurant. We ate there every night during our stay! The staff is very friendly. We also stayed at the hotel. Breakfast was included and was excellent. The location is great and you can’t beat the price. We will be returning as soon as we can!

We did not stay in the hotel but have been there twice for dinner.
And this was excellent!! Perfect steaks, cooked to perfection and a very friendy service. The kids had tenderloin skewers and chicken skewers which they liked a lot.
Also the tenderloin steak and the rib eye were excellent.
Would love to come back sometime.

We arrived with reservations before their typical dinner service. We weren't aware that it was so early until we arrived but the staff were welcoming. Everything we tried was delicious and the prices seemed reasonable for the portions and quality. The table staff was amazing and attentive enough without feeling like they were hovering. Fortunately our table server spoke beautiful English because of Spanish is unfortunately non-existent. The restaurant isn't too big but there seemed to be plenty of room and ample parking. We will definitely be back!

This was the best dinner meal we had in Samara, Costa Rica. The steaks and food were amazing but the service was even better. We had 7 with us and all of us enjoyed cocktails, appetizers, steaks, and more. We kept going back for more food because it was so good. The steaks were perfectly cooked. The drinks, including an Americano, tasted delicious. Of all the places we ate dinner at, I recommend this place the most. Call ahead for reservations, just in case they are busy.

Best Meat in the área by far

Some of the best food in Costa Rica! The Ribeye was amazing! Perfectly seasoned! Great wine list which is hard to find. Empanadas were inexpensive. Service was great as well. Will definitely be back!

Comfy and honest food with a friendly service. For our last night in this small village, we selected the local “hotel” steak house (also based on the recommendation of the owner of our apartment). Everything was great since our entering. Very friendly and smiling service, tasty food and great wine. We had a grilled cheese as an appetizer and meat for two (mix of sausage, chicken and two red meat pieces) as the main. We loved the cheese (provolone or sth named similar) as little salty with a nice seasoning. From the main, we finished only sausages and half of the steaks as the portion was pretty huge. Sausage was amazing and steaks were well prepared, tender and very tasty, with fresh salad and roasted potatoes as sides to select (for no extra). We also had two portions of home chimichurri. I am not a steak person but would return here for sure.

Excellent. Great ambiance. Steak was AMAZING, melted in the mouth, u would NEVER get Beef like this anywhere in the UK. I challenge any farmer or restaurant that says they can at this quality and this price.
