Holiday Inn Express Cartagena Bocagrande

We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express Cartagena from 13th- 16th December. Alex at the reception welcomed us warmly.The check in process was very smooth and we were allotted a room on the 13th floor. While the room was a little dated, it was comfortable and clean.

The cherry on top was the fantastic view. Unlike other hotels we stayed at in other cities of Colombia, coffee pods along with creamer, sugar and milk were replenished daily. The complimentary breakfast was wholesome and tasty.

And the location is unbeatable, with a huge variety of restaurants, coffee shops, pharmacies, supermarkets, clothing stores at the doorstep of the hotel. The beach is within a 5 minutes walking distance. And while we had a great time walking along the Bocagrande strip, we were never far from the Old City, which is a 10 minute drive away.

Our trip to Cartagena will remain memorable thanks in a large part to the hospitality of this hotel.

Superb hotel in Bocagrande area of Cartagena near to beach - very modern, spacious rooms. Bed very comfortable with good views of Bocagrande.
The check in was quock and staff were very welcoming and helpful. The pool area on the roof terrace is beautiful at night, it wasn't crowded and a small bar area to enjoy cocktails and view Bocagrande by night.
Good value and location - had a very enjoyable stay.

Lovely stay at the hotel! Close to the beach and many restaurants. Not a far drive using an uber to the walled city!

The hotel is nice and in a great location. The rooms are a decent size. Rooftop bar and pool. Plenty of hotel security on the premise.

This is an excellent hotel in a great location. Just a block or 2 from the beach. The room are large and clean. The front end service is super good and helpful. They will go out of their way to meet any need you have. The location is super convenient to the beach or the old city. The Uber ride from the old city to this hotel was less then 8000 COP.

I've stayed here twice already on two separate occasions. Great service, centrally located to many tourist hot spots and a quick and cheap taxi ride to and from. The hotel is nice, the breakfast is better than most hotels I've stayed at and most importantly they have very comfortable beds.

If you do not speak Spanish, don't worry. This location is staffed with a number of English-speaking and courteous people that you will feel right at home. They are doing excellent job to keep the guests and their families safe during the covid restrictions. The breakfast always includes fresh fruit, hot food and many local pastry options. Excellent coffee and tasty juice are always available, too. I feel welcomed and safe everytime I stay at this hotel. It is also located within steps to many restaurants and a small general shop where you can easily purchase everyday essentials, including water and snacks. There are also 2 or 3 well-maintained meeting rooms for your business activities. It's an excellent option for personal, family or business stays. Highly recommended.

Had a great stay at this hotel! Staff were friendly and many were bilingual. You can get plenty of sun at the rooftop pool. And there is a standard continental breakfast. Was very happy with the wifi too - I work online so good speeds and bandwidth are a must for me, but I didn't have any connection issues. Would definitely recommend!

Very nice hotel will very well soundproofed rooms. Lots of places to eat within a few blocks and it's a quick taxi ride to the walled city. The pool on the roof is nice and the breakfast is pretty good. It's not right on the beach, but that's actually a bonus, since the constant barrage of vendors on the beach ruins the experience, so it's not worth paying extra for. Talk to the excursion concierge and use the money you saved staying here to book a day trip to somewhere on Isle Grande for a wonderful beach experience.

Very clean an nice hotel. Since is a express there is no food or a bar in it but its breakfast all you can eat colombian buffet is magic. Friendly staff and good housekeping. Close to pretty much everything. The area is full with restaurants and things to eat plus stores. The pool in the roof top its nice, clean and with music the whole time so you can relax sunbathing while listen to some good music.

I stay at mpre than 10 holiday inn USA /CANADA /COLOMBIA... But this is the best breakfast buffet i ever taste. Lot s of choices every morning . lots of fruits choice . i enjoy my second stay at this hotel.

No hot water problem like i had at other cartagena hotel. Perfect stay . thank you

Not far from the Walled City...This Holiday Inn offers affordable prices along with a nice room and a good breakfast. Don't hesitate to book it.

Very nice room. Clean, new, with great views. The roof top pool is also very nice. Very friendly front desk staff that spoke English well. Right in the centre of Bocagrande. I would definitely go back

Great breakfast. Waffles are deli. Comfortable room. Nice pool on rooftop, comfortable and fresh lobby. Very friendly staff. I'd stay in ciudad amurallada or Getsamani next time though. Hotel was good but we had to take a taxi Everytime we wanted to go to the center. Another option is hope on hope off service. Good luck! And wait...DO NOT GO TO BARU PUBLIC BEACH. There are so many thieves!

The staff was friendly and the hotel is super clean and in a great location. Breakfast, wifi included, 24 hr gym, pool on the premises and across the street from the beach.

Comfortable, clean, and friendly staff. Located less then a 5 minute walk across from the beach. The breakfast has a lot of options and was really good!
