Excellent hotel to be relaxed. Love food every restaurant is gourmet. If you don’t like gourmet food is not a place for you. Costumer service really nice and efficiently. Perfect accommodation. In my opinion perfect location to be relax and romantic

The Sofitel Baru Calablanca is truly incredible. It’s so private, so well-maintained, and all around stunning. The service was top-notch. I had a medical emergency while there and the team sprung into action so quickly. I’ll stay here anytime I come back to Cartagena on holiday. Big thanks to the team here for making our stay so special.

I absolutely loved my stay at this property! It is definitely worth a visit. I spent two nights here and was thoroughly impressed. Since it's a relatively new hotel, everything feels new and fresh. The food options were fantastic, and the service was consistently excellent throughout my stay.

The room I stayed in was spacious, and the hotel's grounds are well-maintained. Also, the poolside drinks were great — try the coconut lemonade! One more thing, don't miss out on the spa! I treated myself to their signature massage experience, and it was truly wonderful!

The whole experience was amazing. The hotel itself is beautiful, the rooms are super comfortable, the staff is very attentive, and the service is incredible; they think in every little detail, which makes the experience even better. They have multiple bars and restaurants and the food and drinks are delicious. We had a great time! In general the whole staff is amazing, they are willing to help you with any request. Alberto, Denis, and Kevin were super attentive and they had the best attitude!

The stay at Sofitel has been amazing. The service is top notch compared to other Cartagena locations. Specifically we had the best time at the private pool being catered by Ivan and David. Both were attentive and made our time memorable. The private beach is beautiful and the food is AMAZING. I'd highly recommend to anyone thinking about booking.

Wife and I went to spend our anniversary there and were left blown away with the overall experience. The service from staff was incredible, Criseyra from guest services helped me plan a surprise for my wife and she was attentive to every need and very detailed, she welcomed us from day one and consistently checked in on us to ensure we were having a great time.

Additionally, the server Irene Hernandez from Calablanca restaurant was amazing. She was always attentive of anything we needed.

The rooms were great, the people who cleaned them would come twice a day to make sure they were clean and even left us really nice notes. If you want a place to truly relax, I 100% recommend staying here. Coming from someone who travels a lot, this has been one of the best hotels we have stayed in

Absolutely incredible hotel with amazing service. The hotel itself is stunning and has so much to do. The beach is beautiful and the staff was so helpful and kind. I had to come leave a review after seeing some bad ones here because it truly was one of my best hotel experiences I’ve had. I would absolutely come again and will be recommending this place to all my family and friends!

We went snorkeling and it was the best snorkeling we’ve ever done. Our guide was INCREDIBLE and we learned so much. I’ve never seen so many different fish!

The only con is the food is pretty pricey. I went with my husband and we couldn’t believe how much we spent on food alone, and there aren’t many options nearby.

Also, definitely recommend taking a boat from Cartagena. We took the catamaran there and it was beautiful, but the car ride back to the airport was pretty bumpy since there isn’t a paved road. Not as bad as some people said here, just a watch out (and nothing at all to do with the hotel)!

Sofitel Baru Calablanca a wonderful resort offering clean and superior service as well as excellent facilities right on the beach. The resort is located right on the water with a well maintained beach and multiple swimming pools. It offers many water and other activities, such as cycling, kayaking, sailing, etc. It has an excellent spa with a gym, sauna and other services offered which were thoroughly enjoyed. The territory of the resort hosts three distinct restaurants that cook different style food plus guests could find the food truck and other open bars stationed around the area. Mainly all services are available and offered throughout the whole resort at a highest standard any time of the day. The rooms were very spacious, comfortable and clean. All types of services are superb. All services are provided as initiated and then are tallied up and paid at the end (suggest keeping a list as the services are being accrued in real time to make it easier to check them off the list at the end).

This hotel easily makes it on my top 5 hotels to stay at worldwide. I’ve stayed in a lot of hotels around the world and have only encounter this level of attention to detail a handful of times. They really do strive to cater to your every need and desire. And they do it with a big smile on their face. Everyone is so nice, and not only that, but they really do enjoy what they do. I talked to a lot of the staff ( I’ve never witness such happiness in people while working so I had to investigate ) and they’re legitimately happy to work there. The only hiccup during my stay is not even worth mentioning, since I brought up it to their attention and they were quick to find a solution and made sure that everything was perfect for my stay from that point on, and then they followed up with me the next day to make sure my stay remained flawless. Again, attention to detail is key in this business, and when your sole purpose is to make sure guests have everything they want and need, it’s a recipe for perfection! I stayed at Sofitel Legend Santa Clara a week before coming to Baru and must say I wasn’t very impressed with it, don’t get me wrong, it was nice, but it was NOWHERE near Sofitel Baru Calablanca’s standard. It really is a wonderful place. In fact after leaving I went to my next hotel, and a day after I arrived I cancelled the rest of my reservation with that hotel and came back to Sofitel Baru Calablanca. Why did I come back you ask? Well the service is second to none, and after meeting and interacting with José A, Jonathan & Ana, it wasn’t hard of a decision to come back. They really do make you feel at home and I appreciate that to no end. Thank you my Baru family for such a wonderful experience. You are the best!

This has been my best hotel experience ever. As someone who’s travelled a lot I don’t say that lightly. This hotel boasts so much beauty, style, absolutely outstanding food, great service, wonderful beaches, pools and never once feels crowded. The attention paid to detail, the architecture of the hotel, so many things impress with this hotel. It was an incredible experience and I can strongly recommend this place. This place deserves more than 5 stars.

Kevin is amazing! We had a great time at the hotel and he was very helpful at the beach and pool areas during our stay.

And Oniris at the Bahia restaurant is amazing too. She made sure we were happy during our stay with our favorite foods.

My wife and I had a terrific experience here for our honeymoon. The service was amazing and they always had such a positive attitude, especially Pedro at Bahia. We look forward to coming back in the future and telling others about this Sofitel location.

We recently went to the Sofitel 2 days to enjoy the private beach.
Very relaxing to lounge on the beach, you only hear the waves and the birds. They have hammocks, sun-beds and loungers.
You can rent snorkelling gear but kayaks are complimentary.
Service is good.
Good food options, we tried the Bahia (NY steak and and white fish fillet, both good portions and tasty) and the food truck (shrimp quesadilla was good but the fries with sausage & cheese was lacking flavour).
The hotel has a beautiful modern architecture.
I will definitely go back next time in Cartagena.

What an amazing week we spent at this beautiful resort. The amazing service Andres, Carlos and the other Concierge team provided us included a boat trip to Isla Rosario, a car transfer from Barranquilla (because our arrival flight was changed), and numerous other helpful tips during our stay. Stefania in the direction helped me find a hairdresser in Cartagena, as well as providing extremely personalized care for all our needs. All of the restaurant staff were amazing - but a special call out goes to Xavier who made sure we had a full basket of plantain chips, and Edoardo and Chef Cristian at the Bahia restaurant, as well as Juan at the Calablanca restaurant. The beach at this hotel is phenomenal, and the beach staff are always on hand to bring you drinks, towels or whatever your needs. I also can't say enough about the beautiful rooms at this hotel. Our 2-room suite was truly luxurious. Finally, since we spent a week and tried everything, make sure to find time for a spa treatment. The sauna and steam rooms are not huge, but they were great nonetheless, and our whole family had spa treatments that were wonderful.

One of the best hotels I have ever visited! Impresive

Sofitel was a beautiful place. I was upset with the service being a little slow and the limited availability of parts of the hotel due to a private party. Although, the spa treatment I had was incredible. The only reason I would even consider coming back was because of the impeccable service from a staff member Criseyra. My doors locked and my room key shut off- I called her she came to the beach and left us new keys. Needed a room for the next night and every website was showing sold out- Criseyra accommodated us and made sure we had a room. She answered every message and phone call even when she wasn't present at the hotel. She is truly an amazing addition to Sofitel and I hope she is appreciated by the hotel because of the way she made us feel by being guests.

Wonderful experience. The experience was top notch. We loved the service, especially the pool and restaurant staff. Should put to John, William, Mario and others that made sure our family was set up for a day of fun and relaxation.

We have just come back from a week in Baru Calablanca, and it was the most amazing experience we've had in a long time. The hotel is in a gorgeous setting, the staff was extremely welcoming and kind. We had a stunning room with a great view on the sea, but I found out talking to the staff that the hotel was designed in such a way that ALL rooms have a view on the sea. The kids club was the best I've seen to date. The kids kept asking to go back, the energy from the staff there was outstanding. But what made the stay perfect was the great selection of restaurants in the hotel and the quality of the food- from a vast and varied breakfast buffet, to beautiful roof terrace with great cocktails & tapas to see the sunset from, to the upscale fusion food restaurant that opens the senses in your pallet, or to the just simple but indulgent Burger ! It was all delicious. We are just back and are already planning to go back !

Where to begin! The property is absolutely beautiful! From the lobby to our fantastic room; everything was immaculate, perfectly manicured, stylish and stunning. We had a fast check-in, while we enjoyed a welcome fresh, cold beverage and we found delicious treats upon arrival to our gorgeous ocean view room. All the facilities are outstanding: and we must highlight the adult pool becuase it is a must. They called it the “secret pool” and it is perfect to enjoy the sun and a drink far from any possible noise. Kudos to HUMO, where we had an out of this world diner! Calablanca is great for the breakfast bufet BUT not reccomended for dinner (the only not so great experience duing our stay). The beach restaurant (Food Truck) offers delicious options, and if you are stressed out make sure to book an appointment (or several) at the spa where you will feel VERY pampered and relaxed. No matter where you are at Sofitel Barú, you will have a great view, as every inch of the property has been designed and mantained for your aestetic enjoyment. And while in form we were completely estimulated and pleased, the HUMAN factor made it all even MUCH better. Jairo greeted us warmily and handled our luggage with care; MARIO, at the Food Truck made us feel like home and when we ran into him the next day, he reminded us of the yummy treats in the menu. While the food was outstanding at HUMO, we were able to accomplish a glorious 8-course meal under the knowledgeable advice and guidance of Jose and Days. And going back to Calablanca’s bufet breakfast, William and Juan remebered our preferences and kept on spoiling us with everything we wanted. Finally, if you are arriving by land, make sure to request ALEXANDER as your driver: he is wonderfully well-manered and an excellent driver.

The hotel is just beautiful, the location directly at the beach serene, the rooms generous albeit finishing touches are sometimes lacking the necessary attention - especially for the fact that this is a fairly new property. But beach, pools, atmosphere, food, location, landscape, sea are all fabulous. But getting to or leaving the hotel is treacherous and the stay has to be earned. The road leading to the hotel is basically just a very wide dirt path that turns into a swimming pool after each rain. And leaving by boat is cool but it was very tricky - we got soaking wet because the sea was not very calm and the speedboat for that purpose not fitted because there was no cabin for the passengers. But all in all the place is magic and we would go back - hoping that the new road will be constructed quickly.
