Everything from here is delicious! I've been a few times whenever I'm downtown and have cash with me!
I'm no authority on European authenticity of baked goods, but I don't think that matters with how tasty and fresh the food always is. I've heard from other people this place is legit if that matters to you.
I'm personally a fan of the croissants, and had the pleasure of having their red pepper and potato soup today (perfect for the cold weather!)

Support local, indulge on some incredible pastries and breads without any regret!

I returned! I bought their brownies. Wow! Must try! They will knock your socks off!

My favourite foods here: brownie, cinnamon danish, chocolate chip danish, sausage roll, and croissant.

Tip: Eat Eric's danishes immediately. I picked up his chocolate Danish around 10 am and instantly ate part of it, and it was better fresh and slightly warm compared to when I ate the other half 30 minutes later. It was still good later though.

This baker really knows his pastries! I was stunned at the quality and for such a reasonable price! All of my items (4) came to $15. They are a cash only place. This business is closed Sunday through Tuesday.

I am definitely coming back! Wow, what perfect pastry! You will feel and taste the difference in quality here! I would definitely have the sausage rolls and croissants again! Thank you to the customer that highly recommended them to me!

I've been coming for almost 2 years as much as I can.
The pastries and foods are delicious and are authentic French cuisine.

To the people who complain, they are mostly uppity snobs. You can tell.

Always worth a visit!

Came in this morning before they were open like a bull in a china shop after just missing my train, not realizing it was even open yet. Eric greeted me with a big smile and a ‘what can I do for you’. Only then I remembered, it’s cash only. No problem, he says - come back when you can, can I get you a croissant too?

Eric, your Guelph folklore only continues to grow, sorry for bringing that chaos into your space and thank you for reshaping my morning. Next when I have cash… I will take you up on one of those delicious croissants.

Clearly a very skilled Baker. Quality of the baked goods is apparent. Every bite is an experience. Danishes, croissants, oh joy! Prices are reasonable. Wait time could be a bit long but worth every second. Take a picture of the schedule so you know when to show up for your favourite items. Been here twice so far and everything was delicious. Will definitely be back. If a 6th star was available this place would get it for sure. Update: ordered a cake for a birthday. Quite frankly the best mousse cake I've ever tasted. It was a hit. Such a hit that pics didn't happen until it was almost too late.

Delicious authentic French-style bakery. Couple in front of me spoke French and the man at the cash had no trouble switching back and forth. Sausage rolls were so good! Also bought butter croissants and a pain au chocolat.

Eric the Baker has hands-down, the BEST service. I ordered a croque monsieur and a blueberry danish and didn't realize that this was a cash-only store. By the time they tallied up my total, I was short by $2. When I mentioned that I was short, they said 'No worries, it's only $2!' and gave me both items 😭 As a small business during a pandemic, their small act of kindness is especially touching. (Thank you Lauren!!!)

Not only was the service outstanding, the food was delicious. I only wish that I came earlier with more cash on hand, as I hear that they typically sell out of their popular items in the morning.

I will definitely make the drive to Guelph again, solely to visit Eric the Baker 😍

Have only went once but can't wait to go back! I got two pesto pizzas, a brownie and some meringue cookies. The meringue cookies were melt in your mouth little pieces of heaven! Amd a hit with the whole family!
The pizzas were delicious, they had tomatoes and coming from someone who won't eat tomatoes I LOVED them! They were cheesy and crispy with a softer inside.
Brownies are my favourite dessert and they hit it right on the nose! Its thick and decadent and rich and so chocolatey! I'm so excited to go back and try more treats! Would definitely reccomend!

The Best french Bakery i went too in a long time! The croissant au chocolat and tge croque Monsieur were simply divine! Totally recommand that place! The café latte was amazing too. Very friendly service

Eric the Baker is the crown jewel of Guelph. Their pastries are fantastic and in my opinion can easily be ranked amongst the best nationwide. Their pain au chocolat in particular is exceptional.

I only wish they were open more often and accepted other payment methods, but this is a minor quibble.

Absolutely delicious pastries. The almond croissants and Paris-Brest are amazing.

It feels like you are having pastries in France. Best bakery in Ontario amazing croissants. The chef is still following his grandma’s recipe. Leek quiche is my favorite. Everything is worth trying.

Inside the shop is a board that tells you what time/day goodies are ready. If you are lucky enough to get there just as the croissants are ready....

This is one of the best bakeries I have been to in Canada. I try something new each time I visit and I'm never disappointed. The place is very small so it's takeout with a few tables and chairs out front during the summer months. If your visiting Guelph this is a can't miss spot.

This is one of the best bakeries in town. I like the danish and croissants. It gives me a taste of France. On the weekend it usually has a line-up. So go early if you like to get the fresh goodies. A couple things to note are that they close pm Sundays and cash only.

I randomly stopped in today and was amazed. Very traditional bakery with staff that were patient, friendly, and engaging. So happy I found this place and I will be back again. If you’re looking to support a great local business with traditional baked goods, this is the place to be. Well done and thank you for an excellent visit today!

It's abusive so good the pastries are at this place! The chocolate almond croissant is out of this world. And they're open early on weekends, perfect beginning of the day.

For anyone craving baked goods during this time of physical distancing, this bakery is taking orders for pickup!! I’m obsessed with their custard filled brioche and their chocolate croissants! They also have amazing fruit tarts 😋
