Flour Barrel

We're big fans of the Flour Barrel, they have most things people get in bulk at better prices than the big chain places

Knowledgeable staff and a great selection of scoop-your-own and pre-packaged baking items. They also have some fresh items like eggs, dairy, hummus, cheese and plant-based alternatives. Refillable containers of soap, shampoo and household cleaners.

Amazing store with a remarkably wide selection. Very easy to find gluten free items for my dietary restrictions. Prices are very good, and the staff is cheerful and very helpful. Easy 5 stars.

Fabulous place to stock up on staples and treats. They have a wonderful selections of spices, baking supplies, equipment (like molds and shaped pans).

They also have a wide selection of teas. There's even an opportunity for you to bring your own container (outside of pandemic restrictions) to buy your bulk items.

There are also green options for cleaning supplies and a display case with baked goods from a local bakery.

I love 💕 shopping at the flour barrel. This amazing store has everything I need and want. It’s also close to home and easily accessible.

Fabulous selection, great prices

Love this bulk place! Lots of options, including local and organic foods, making it more attractive than any other generic bulk store. Big plus is the selection of soaps, shampoos and laundry detergents in bulk. Currently, due to pandemic, you can only take the cleaning products home in your own containers.

For readers of my reviews: I have a bit of a problem in that I am hesitant to write negative reviews because I cannot always be sure whether I am objective in a particular instance. So what do my positive reviews mean ? They mean that I only write them if I am genuinely impressed and I will not write a review if I cannot stand behind everything I say.
The Flour Barrel has been in Guelph for quite a while and we like it for the excellence and range of their offerings. If you are a baker, this is the place to go. Similarly, if you make your own Grenola, they have all the things you need. Lovely smell in the place and browsing will come up with stuff you will be happy to find. Prices are very good, especially considering the quality of the product.
A problem is the parking because free spots on that stretch of Wyndham are hard to find. If you are on foot, no problem. If you come from a distance away as we do, and you can go with somebody else you can double park while one does the shopping in the Flower Barrel. You can also park in the large parking lot behind the old Post Office and walk over.

Fabulous bulk pantry store, they have a vast selection of flours, dried legumes of every variety and you can usually find anything you're looking for - and some. Love the farm fresh eggs and the pies too. I could go on and on about this shop. Thanks for everything you do Flour Barrel!

Excellent selection of baking products, they often have hard to find items (especially now that people are doing a lot of baking and grocery stores seem to be sold out of the more common supplies). The staff is always friendly and helpful 😊

This is a well stocked locally owned bulk food store. They have excellent covid protocals in place and the store is always clean. I like the fact that they feature local products whenever they're available.
