My husband is recovering from a hernia operation and has asked me to relay his thanks to everyone in day surgery. We should be grateful for having such friendly, professional and efficient hospital staffing here in the city. Thanks again folks!

This hospitals staff is excellent! Patients are treated with kindness & respect. This hospitals cleanliness is far superior to its sister hospital (SJ Regional)....Hats off to ALL the staff at the St. Joseph's for maintaining a clean & professional & inviting atmosphere for those who have to visit!

Had a great experience. The staff were efficient and friendly. I went on a Saturday morning on a weekend when ALL after-hours clinics in SJ, Moncton, and Fredricton were ALL closed for the whole weekend.
SJ is lucky to have the Urgent Care Centre at St. Joe's, and not have to deal with having to go to the full fledged ER at the Regional for a non emergency.

Great Staff! I attended my prenatal appointments for my now 9 month old little girl, the ladies were amazing! as well as all the other staff in other departments! keep up the great work!!
Also wait times would be better if some people booked appointments at an after hours instead of bombarding the hospitals.
end of rant

I always go to st Joe's hospital emergency department they are really polite. Helpful understanding . With the system we have right know I will always go to st Joe's.. never to the regional.. I usually am in and out In 3 to 6 hours .. I understand with the amount of Dr's they have . Which is not there problem at all it's the government doing .... I know when people go sick to an ER they expect fast service that's before all the cut backs since the government took the money away ...

I came in for an appointed scan. I'm not from the area and appreciated help from security answering my questions. The staff was accommodating given I'm hard of hearing. The process was fairly quick. Thanks for your help.

June 4th, 2022

Staff are terrible to interact with. There is no need for the hostility.

Thursday (June 2nd), I was ordered by security to move my chair away from their desk. D.C. apologized and I accepted his apology with a fist bump. I also thanked him for his service on the way out.

Today (June 4th), I was told "I'm not going to fight with you" when I declined to sanitize my hands due to open cuts on my hands from eczema. She (not J.P.) asked someone else and she allowed me to wash my hands in the bathroom instead.

Registration asked if I had an appointment for x-ray, I said "no, I just have this piece of paper that says "urgent" on top". She directed me to the x-ray dept.

X-ray dept. said I needed an appointment, but there was no phone number on the paper given to me that orders tests.

I was told that "I was taking an unusual path". They acknowledged that the Doctor on Thursday misinformed me of next steps. I thanked them for acknowledging that as I felt like I was being given a hard time with everyone I interacted with.

Even though the first visit took less than an hour to see a Doctor and the second visit took less than 15 minutes to get an x-ray, the experience was terrible and unnecessarily hostile.

I understand everyone is stressed out from the Pandemic, but something needs to change.

June 17th,

I contacted St. Joseph's to try to get an update on x-ray results. The fundamental issue is that I don't have a Family Doctor because my previous Dr. passed away many years ago and I haven't taken any steps to get a new one.

I was transferred to Health Records and they gave me a lengthy process of giving consent to obtain my x-rays, which would still need to be assessed by a Radiologist. This is not the route that I want to take. I simply want someone to review the results and provide feedback.

June 18th,

I realize that I may have misunderstood the Dr. who treated me on June 2nd. She did in fact tell me to contact eVisitNB and 811 because I didn't have a Family Doctor. If this was the step that I missed before getting an X-ray, that is completely my fault and I take responsibility.

Dr. E.P. called my cell phone today (June 18th) and is working on finding out results for me. In the meantime, I have also registered for eVisitNB.

Dr. E.P. is going above and beyond for me and I sincerely appreciate it.

Update: Dr. E.P. responded to my eVisit "got it Adam. all completely normal. both the wrist and the scaphoid. sorry for the long delay. glad we found it though. have a great day"

Out of appreciation for Dr. E.P. going above and beyond on a Saturday morning, I have updated my Review from 1-Star (June 4th) to a 5-Star (June 18th).

Saint John is very blessed to have Dr. E. Phillips on call!

First time here. Had a seamless experience at emerg. In and out in less than 2hrs. Can’t ask for more than that. Maybe it was beginners luck, but I’ll take it. The staff were all friendly and professional. Fine experience.

I am very grateful to everyone at this place. In and out of urgent care in 2 hours, and honestly my condition wasn't immediately life threatening. The greeters at the door were super nice and helpful. Nurse Jackie was kind and experienced and had a little grit, like all the best nurses. And Dr. Szymanski was good to me, polite, but I could see him slightly intimidating certain people because he is so efficient and direct (as he should be in urgent care haha). However he definitely came across as kind and very competent! He did a great job handling an intense fellow clearly looking for more painkillers.

While I waited in my bed, I listened to other nurses and the people at the desk and they all seemed to work well together, in good spirits, and spoke to the patients in the adjacent beds in a kind and friendly manner. I didn't have him, but that Nurse Practicitioner Joe/Joel seems like a hoot. Thank you so much to the staff for all of their hard work and kindness.

I have been here a few times. Everyone is professional and pleasant. I appreciate the work Everyone does. I am from Ontario, the wait time here is nothing compared to that. They are trying to help everyone, of course there will be wait times. Thank you to everyone here, from the lady at the door with covid questions to the intake staff to nurses and doctors.

A big hospital with many departments, many specialties. The doctors, nurses and staff (at Emergency department) are all friendly, cheerful and careful. I want to send them my thanks. They reminded me of my staff (in the emergency department) in Vietnam.

The Day Surgery Department was wonderful! Had a procedure there last week and the staff made me feel comfortable. The O.R. Staff was amazing as well.

This is an urgent care centre not a medical clinic. The docs and nps at this location are for urgent medical needs not common cough and flu viruses or a sore toe. People are triaged at the sense of urgency and a bad cold is not urgent.

In and out of urgent care in just over two hours. Even during COVID they appear to work seamlessly and with kindness and gentle humour.
