Sun Ray Variety

Sun Ray has been my go to store for almost 2 decades. Up until about a year and a half ago, I have always lived within about 2 maybe three blocks from Sun Ray. The store has just recently changed ownership. I have not met the new owner. The day staff are new. The one constant tho is my friend Paul is still holding down the evening shift. I'm pretty sure he has been there since day one, a true grass roots employee. Since I do not live in the Waterloo Village anymore I don't frequent the store nearly as much as in the past. The one thing that I do make sure of tho is, in the evenings when I'm up in the Village is I make a point if going in get a coffee and the Pro-Line list and chew the fat with Paul. He makes Sun Ray Variety the kind of neighborhood convenience store that you want to go into, friendly, knowledgeable about the inventory, type of person that makes you smile and laugh. So if your down around the Village in the evening and need something from the store stop in say hi. He makes it feel like how going to your neighborhood store use to be like when the world wasn't so messed up like it is today. Least that's how I see it.

New owners. They have made some improvements and have brought in a ton of new products. Definitely a great spot to stop if you need a few things. The staff are very friendly and helpful. My go to convenience store.

This museum is a great attraction for locals as it perfectly illustrates how pre- 1994 industry worked and what people were like. I especially loved the confectionary exhibit, seeing all the displays of candy here really allowed me to view the world through a sepia-toned lens. Overall, I give this a solid 5 stars as it perfectly encapsulated my experience and I definitely recommend this exhibit to anybody nearby.

Great shop for essentials and fun snacks! Extensive selection of rare drinks, candy, pop-tarts, cereals, and chips. The owner is very friendly and knowledgeable. I highly recommend for a movie night or a 420 snack fest.

Open all the time, have the best selection of everything they carry, friendly people work here and they all have good taste in music as a bonus. I'd give them six stars if they carried more batteries but their juice selection and prices balances it out to at least a 5. A strangely memorable corner store....

Best corner store in town... Manager is super friendly, and so is all the staff. This store is a cut above every other convenience store in town.

This store has what you need..memory lane for the young at heart..treats from the 60's-70's..candy from childhood..friendliest staff and owner in all of Saint John..

The store attendant hair lied to me told me she had extra strength Tylenol when she only had regular Tylenol and sold it to my friend thanks to her I'm still in pain sunray is not a good place to go I will never be a customer again
