The Modern Real Estate Team was great for our home purchase. Our realtor Miles was incredibly knowledgeable about the Victoria market and was very quick to respond to all our messages while working around our schedules. We have already recommended Modern to some family members and will not hesitate to use them again.

The experience of selling your home (especially when one of you is overseas) is always an intense and demanding process, but Lindsay was amazing! She held our hand through the whole thing, helped us with all the prep beforehand and negotiated well on our behalf. And she was always available, even across time zones. She prepared an extensive study of the selling prices of comparable homes in the same area of Victoria. She connected us with contractors for carpentry, painting, tank removal and landscaping, and all contractors did a stellar job preparing the home for sale. Her company also offers a staging expert. After I just about lost an all but -ideally- priced and placed suite due to quick offers coming in from other prospective buyers, Modern connected me with Lindsay. She recognized the urgency of the situation and acted immediately, discovering from the seller’s agent that other offers had fallen through, and facilitating access within hours. Realizing that the suite was all but perfect for me, she recommended putting an offer in that very afternoon. Lindsay seemingly dropped everything to guide me through the dizzying carnival of contracts and other documents. On top of everything else, Lindsay utilized her specialized negotiations training to work out a reduction with the seller, who had been unwilling to budge. This enabled me to make the purchase outright - a crucial result, as due to an impending, major assessment on the building, the was no eligibility for a mortgage.

With the reduced price, I was able to put everything I had down, and come out mortgage free. After she had gleefully handed me the keys and cheered our hard-won success, I saw that Lindsay had left a charcuterie platter and bottle of Prosecco in my new fridge. Now how’s that for class?
