This was a fantastic place to visit! If you have some down time and are looking for something to do definitely check it out. Learning about the history and people of the area wonderful. The art and craftsmanship of all the pieces was amazing. The gift shop is full of little treasures and I was able to pick some beautiful art to take home.

A beautiful museum with fun & knowledgable guides. Have me a much fuller understanding of the native people / first nation cultures, beliefs and mythology. The food in the cafe is excellent and is inspired by typical native American food. Informative, eye catching & vibrant, the cultural centre is well worth a visit.

West Coast history and culture!

I have been regularly coming to Whistler to visit the Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre. It’s a beautiful space that exemplifies the unique culture found in this area of the world. The food at the cafe is a must! My salad was graced with wild fresh morel mushrooms.

I highly recommend this place as a cafe, museum, and art gallery. With 300+ First Nations in Canada it is a wonderful way to introduce visitors and residents a like to the Squamish and Lil’wat nations.

I bought the $20 general admission ticket which is actually a tour includes a 15min movie and 30min guide sharing the culture and walking us through the exhibitions. The staff are all Lil'wat nation people, it is quite an amazing experience to learn more about their beliefs and lifestyle.

A great way to spend a couple of hours in Whistler learning more about the history, rich culture, and beautiful creations of the First Nation peoples of the region. It also has a very nice cafe (I recommend the Salmon Chowder and Bannock) and gift shop.

We loved having lunch at the little cafe located on the ground floor. The food was delicious and fresh. It was ready in no time. We sat on a table by the window with views of the pine tree. Well priced and delicious. We could not dine in the main cafe as there was a private party going on. In addition to everything they have on the menu, one can choose combos with soup and sandwiches- which was out choice.

Our wedding was spectacular here at the SLCC thanks to Taylor and the team! We were so thankful we were able to have our special day where we could have Canadian roots a part of it! HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS VENUE FOR WEDDINGS!

Very informative and well laid out. From the master craver who took the time to talk about his craft and meanings behind the totem cravings, the friendly and knowledgeable staff who lead the tours and the examples of totem poles, indigenous mask and weaving, definately worth a visit to become more culturally aware.

Wonderful time as always ❤ i love the cultural knowledge that's shared here . Its a must visit . They got a movie theater and museum and gift shop and cafe shop . They host events/ programs here . People can rent out there event conference room area. They are next to the Fairmount and nearby hotels . There is elevators if folks can't use the staircase . There is public transportation here via bus stop or shuttle. They got a parking lot . They got nature trails around the center. Its good to know the Squamish / Lil'wat peoples history of this land area . Its good to bring kids to here . They currently got a beautiful photography exhibit called unceded . Staff is very welcoming and knowledgeable .

It is definitely worth the time to take the tour as you will get lots of interesting information on the displays. Also a nice spot for lunch. The gift shop had a wide variety of items for sale.

You cannot visit Canada without including a connection and cultural heritage perspective within your journey of First Nations presence in Canada. My interesting visit to this wonderful Cultural Centre definitely contributed to this fulfillment, and deepening respect and understanding.

A phenomenal collaboration between the Squamish and Lil’wat First Nations, exhibiting just two of the thousands of linkages that existed before the Europeans arrived. The Indigenous art here is breathtaking. Be sure to take care the guided tour and tap a bit below the surface of what only the eyes take on. There are so many layers to the art and the stories you can get vertigo just glancing over the edge of your perceptions, preconceptions and presumptions.

I am so glad this centre exists and is building bonds between Canada's indigenous and non-indigenous communities — and with those who come from abroad.

A beautiful place to showcase two nations. There are guided tours, but I showed up close to closing so I just walked around. I was able to listen to the tour guides and they are knowledgeable. The gift shop definitely has something for every visitor. I would have tried the food at the restaurant, but they already shut down. I will definitely be back!

Very interesting centre. It is quite small so won't take you too long, but it is still very informative. The tours are well done. Definitely worth a visit!
They also have a wonderful Cafe and the most delicious bannock made fresh every day they are open.... make sure you get there early enough before they run out!!

A very welcoming experience 😊 You are greeted with traditional drumming and song by the friendly staff that keep this gem running. There are guided tours every hr that start with a short film and introduction to the museum. This space is a gorgeous open space with 3 floors with a beautiful gift shop aswell as a delicious cafe on the lower floor. The tour itself takes about 20 min and after you are free to wonder yourself. This place is light on history but is focused on beautiful traditions like basket weaving and way of life that once was. The parking is very limited so I suggest you take the free shuttle from the village or park in the big open lot about 3 blocks away (a nice walk on a sunny day ) Bathroom 🚻 are clean and very nice .You are aloud to take pictures just not in the theater room . We don't have children but this place would be nice to take well behaved children as there are a few open its not for touch . There are stairs or an elevator for baby strollers. We had a wonderful time and will go back to see the live carving and basket weaving classes they put on. A special culture we were thrilled to learn more about.

Great experience. Amazing carvings and art. I spent a good bit of time reading about the tragic effects of the Canadian Indian Residential school system in the rotating display.
