Stopped in for a late breakfast. Our server was helpful and nice. Attentive to our table throughout the whole visit. Food was tasty and came out quick. Large portions for the price. There was a nice museum to ponder around while you waited or when you were ready to leave. Worth stopping in on your way to Banff.

We took our kids to visit the cultural center, and had lunch at the Smitty's that's attached. The cultural center is very informative - talks about the history of the area and the bands, the treaty and the residential school system. The colonial history was sad as we know it but the way things are worded aren't just blaming the government, the undertone is truly educational. It is apparent that they want the visitors to learn about the history, for us to learn from it, and to look into the future, but not to dwell on the sad part in history. It is obvious that the Chikini people are willing to participate in the truth and reconciliation - if the rest of us are willing to.
The restaurant is great too! They were short 2 staff but we had a great experience anyway!

My mom and I visited the Christmas tree displays at the Malcolm hotel. Dispute the fact that your tree didnt win a prize, we thought it was one of the most marvellous ones!! Personally I thought on the creative level it was the best and my mom thought that it was the tree that most represented the ‘spirit of Christmas’! We could feel the love and care through the display. To us it one first place in all competitions! Thank you so much for sharing

So much to learn about indigenous people of Chiniki from this place. There are pictures, items and story boards to explain in detail!

On the way from Calgary to Canmore you can find this cultural centre on the left side approx 1 hour in the journey. There in the back of Smith’s restaurant . Parking available and a gas station is conveniently situated there

Had breakfast at Smitty's at the Chiniki Culteral Centre. The Chiniki Benedict was excellent: with wild boar bacon and spinach on grilled Bannock. Poached eggs were perfectly prepared. Beautiful views, great service, clean facilities.

Very elegant Chiniki cultural artifacts. The teipis are must see. The restaurant inside the Cultural center serves very authentic and delicious food. Saskatoon Berry soup is just awesome! The ambience is very peaceful with first nations decor and their music. When you go there take some time to enjoy the surroundings and the superior service at the restaurant!

I haven't visited upstairs, but they have a great gas bar here and a lovely little store. The bathrooms are generally very well cared for and we normally stop on our way to Calgary from the National Parks.

This is a must stop for people on their way to or back from Banff. I was greeted right away by a very friendly girl and my order was taken and served very quickly. I was told about the daily all day breakfast special with Banook and the home made bacon was very good. I will be back.

Great food, service and ambiance. We were so happy they had a kids menu, and even that food was excellent (home-cut fries and real chicken tenders). Also glad to support a local community rather than a big chain restaurant when eating on a road trip.
