Haven't been to the physical store yet but I would love too go. I bought a lot of tissue culture from their online store and I have to be honest, the plants couldn't have been higher quality. I wish I could visit this store but I live in Alberta. I took a lot of inspiration from their tanks so here are some of my aquascapes. (Keep in mind I'm only 13 so they're not going to be perfect.) Also the 10g is blurry because I just did a light gravel vac.

Service and advice is first class. I have used you product and they do what they say they are going to and and fast safe and on time shipping.
5 full fives stars . With note you folks need to open something out east Calgary needs a true hands on service base fish and plant store out here

April's Aquarium has become a mecca for the planted Aquarium hobby. I can't say enough good things. They regularly order unique and interesting fish. Their team is surprisingly knowledgeable.

The experience has improved since the two locations merged. Having all the live stock in one location is convenient.

I've been very happy with aquarium coop products, and the wide selection of hardscape. They stand by their product warranties.

Lastly, April's aquarium treats their fish with great care. They score big points on quality. The fish they sell are well fed and healthier than I'm used too. I haven't had any issues with diseases. They are the only store I know of that quarantines all of their fish before selling it.

April’s Aquarium was one of the best experiences I’ve encountered while setting up my high tec aquascaped/planted tank which up until last week did not have fish. You can only get so much out of books and you tube and I was struggling with the actual details of the set up. I ran into Darrin there and he took a lot of his own time to go through a very complicated explanation of how to adjust pressure and CO2 output on my setup. He helped me figure out a better system for timers, CO2 and found me my dream fish. He even stayed after closing to make sure I had everything I needed to succeed with my new and much loved fish. He made complicated things understandable for me and filled in a lot of blanks. My set up was pretty good but definitely lacking. He also was mindful of not going over budget and I spent a lot less than I could have to get a much better set up. I can’t thank him enough, he was a lot of fun to chat with, very respectful and had a ton of knowledge about everything to do with aquariums. I felt so much better leaving that day! My beautiful new fish are doing amazing, my tank set up is much more efficient, and easier to maintain and I am so much happier with the hobby. I’d give them a ten on a five point scale any day! Oh.. please also ignore my mg on the other side of the aquarium in the pic, I just had to get a photo of that handsome fellow.

Incredibly friendly staff, went way out of their way to hook me up with female fish on a certain species that can be tricky to sex if you are unfamiliar with the species. Prices are really good and the selection is next level, the plant selection alone smokes every other petstore in BC out of the water. Hands down the best aquarium shop in BC, maybe canada.
I had a long drive home and they set me up with a styrofoam shipping box and heat pack at no extra charge, really great shop.

Best fish. Best plants. Best prices. Best staff. Have been shopping here since I got back in the hobby a year ago. They are often the "first in canada" and even "first in north america" to carry some of the fish species in their offering, ultra rare fish that you truly cannot find anywhere else and some you may not see ever again. Their fish shipments are quarantined, cared for and brought back to full health (from their terrifying dark journey to the store) before they are even listed for sale to the public. They offer everything you need for a high tech planted tank, and have the best and largest selection of tissue culture plant pots and live rooted plants which are replenished weekly. Of course you can also find some ultra rare plants in their offering. Staff are so incredibly knowledgeable and always happy to hear your stories and photos. There is a reason their store is always full, they simply leave no reason for you to shop anywhere else. Everything except the tank itself (and my dirty co2 diffuser) in this photo was sourced from Aprils, with a lot of help from their team along the way. 6 stars.

I can’t believe I drove past this place to work and never popped in. Absolutely stunning set ups with very well taken care of aquatics. Jacob is super knowledgeable and helpful. I really enjoy shopping here. I wont be getting things from anywhere else. 100 percent recommend.

Love ordering from Aprils! Always an easy and pleasant experience. Fish are healthy, fast shipping and reasonably priced for overnight, super quick to answer messages and good communication.

April's Aquarium has always been super helpful and amazing when I have shopped in store and online. It's a great environment to go and shop around for any of your aquarium needs and they have a HUGE selection of fish and supplies. This past week I have been sick in bed and there was a short noticed scheduled power outage and April's delivered a battery operated air pump to me same day! I am so grateful to have such an amazing local fish store that cares so much! And they have online shopping for people that are not in driving distance! Highly recommend!!! I come here often with my friend whenever we need aquarium stuff. They always have a wide selection of fish, and great deals! Their staff is always amazing, and they seem truly passionate.

Although not my first time purchasing from April's it was my first time receiving a shipment. The fish arrived happy and healthy. I can't say enough about April's Aquarium. Darrin and the staff are knowledgeable and care about their stock and it shows. They have a really good variety of fish, are very helpful and the store is a treat to visit. Huge bins of hardscape will keep you there for hours if you're not careful. Highly recommend them. This shipment I got a bunch of these cuties. Love them!

April's Aquarium have a wide selections of fishes and it's always fun to check out the store. Staffs are friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. All my fishes are healthy and It's my one stop shop for all my fish needs!

Amazing inventory (even though Im unfortunately only able to shop online) and talk about customer service. My order required a bit more consideration than most orders. I received a personalized call from the owner himself <3 I haven’t heard that much care, determination and pride in ones service and name. My delivery arrived super fast from when we first spoke. I even emailed giving them the opportunity to back down because of the extras involved. I didnt want to be a pain in the neck after-all. But i was never ever made to feel that way. I got exactly what I wanted and I couldnt be happier. Everything I purchased is as described. (Like OMG they are a registered distributor for Aquarium Coop! That says a lot! Ok i can go on and on - but you get it. Quality product. Quality service and quality people. I am definitely shopping again & when the weather is better for live stock I may even cause another ruckus with my order. Im kidding ;)

Darrin was extremely helpful and took his time with us as we were starting a new aquarium. He took the time to answer all our questions and was helpful on a follow up phone call. We returned a week later and Jacob helped us pick out our first set of fish. Would highly recommend Aprils Aquarium

This is an incredible aquarium store, highly recommend!

Over the last few months I've been building a 55 gallon aquarium for my 21-year old Red Eared Slider. Every employee there is really knowledgeable about aquarium care. Although I wasn't there to buy fish, the principles are all pretty much the same for my turtle, and I was able to get all the necessary decorations, chemicals, and materials to make the perfect home for my turtle.

I also ordered my aquarium stand from them at a great price compared to other stores, and they hand-delivered it to me within the week! I felt particularly grateful for that, because I did not have the strength to carry that item myself, and I was already a bit stressed about that. They took the worry right out of my hands. Not to mention...it was free!

I also had one of the employees teach me about improving the flora in my aquarium, and advised me on some good decorations that would not just be pretty, but support the health of the tank. Since I've done the recommendations, my tank is healthier than it has ever been, and it requires less maintenance compared to before. Every time I go into the store I learn a bunch of new things!

I always enjoy going to April's Aquarium. Not just because it's fun to look at the fishes and browse the goods, but because the service is truly top notch. I highly recommend it for all your aquarium needs! Thank you!

We love Aprils! We started with a single tank during September 2020 (height of the pandemic) and we were frequent visitors to the North Burnaby location. We met a wonderful group of employees and we consider them friends. The service is top notch and they are knowledgeable and super happy to see you. Best freshwater fish store in the lower mainland hands down their prices are very down-to-earth they are also a retail partner with aquarium co-op for aquarium supplies.
Super knowledgeable staff, very friendly even the owner go's above and beyond for friendliness! The whole team is just absolutely wonderful super knowledgeable and very.

There's a pretty cool points system there that if you get enough points you're eligible to get an aquarium, definitely a huge bonus!

The BEST aquarium in town, very assorted, the staff is very wise and friendly, all my plants, fishes and shrimps are from here!, if you are looking something different and cool, this is the place!

I am definitely very pleased with the service and will order from April's Aquarium again. I love the fact that they sell Aquarium CoOp products that I used to buy directly from the CoOp, but unfortunately, they do not ship directly now to Canada.
I ordered easy green liquid, easy iron, and root tabs. I will be ordering their fish foods soon.
Lastly, I live in Ontario and couldn't believe that I had my order within 5 days.
