Castlemaine Botanical Gardens

A beautiful botanic Gardens for this lovely country town. Great playground for the kids. Bridges over a little creek, lots of flowers and beautiful big trees. Large areas under shade with also big open areas. Nice location too, though next to the train line... Kids love it, but it is slightly loud (think you'd get used to it though) - and fur next to The Mill precinct. Would definitely spend more time at the gardens next time we visit!

The gardens surrounding Lake Joanna offer an opportunity to forget about life for a little while and surround yourself with nature. It was also good weather when I went so it was a lovely experience.

A lap around the lake is nice for a short walk, though you could spend hours doing laps for exercise, or enjoying a picnic in the gardens. The flowers were beautiful and blooming when I visited in mid-september.

Beautifully maintained gardens perfect for a morning or weekend stroll, picnic or barbecue. Plenty of birdlife to observe, plus the occasional kangaroo over in the reserve. Contact the local council to book the rotunda or tea rooms for a function.

Beautiful gardens make a great space for recreational exercise. I enjoy walking, running, and sprinting around the 1.7km track, and practising martial arts on the lawns.

Over 800 beautiful trees with walking paths winding through. Very peaceful surroundings.

Google maps sent me to the hospital and no way through to the gardens. Back-tracked and made the turn before.

Pleasant walk round, late autumn, with fallen leaves. Beautiful.

Awesome and quiet place. Good for a morning walk and run. You would feel the energy and fresh air. Lot of ducks in the water. If you wish to enjoy nature, this is the place for you. Had a nice cold breeze morning walk. Parking is not a problem. Available from 3 sides of the garden. Finding the place on the maps can be tricky. The gps location is not correct on the map. Just google The Mill and its right opposite The Mill.

Well design garden to walk around and picnic. I went to first week of May. It was full of autumn beautiful color , people came to take photos as there are so many beautiful place to capture. Just short walk from the station. The mill factory in the opposite of garden is also must visit place. There are wine tasting, Vienna style coffee shop and vintage bazaar shop.

Great place to spend time with kids and family.

Castlemaine's Botanical Gardens are just lovely. The garden beds are beautifully manicured and the grassy areas are lush and green. At the moment, they have a beautiful display of roses. A number of cute ducks and ducklings also inhabit the small lake. Very pleasant to stroll around the gardens and enjoy the beauty that Castlemaine has to offer.

Very pretty historical gardens with a great pool nearby coupled with great & interesting retail precinct across the road. Worthy of an afternoon...walk around the gardens...grab lunch & go for a swim

Beautiful walk through the gardens.

Beautiful Gardens for everybody, a nice Walk around, BBQ Area, great Play Area for the Kids all under shelter of some description. Highly recommend for a Family day out or Wedding Day Photos with all the beautiful background scenery

Beautiful gardens, very spacious and lots of areas and picnic tables to sit down. Definitely visit if you’re in Castlemaine. There is parking available near the gazebo in the middle.
