Ordered the veggie breakfast ($21.50) — the tofu scrambled eggs was good (although a tad salty) but very very filling and loved the variety of dishes on the brunch menu as well as food on this dish… that mushroom was huge! and also came with avo and tomato and staff were super friendly!

Great atmosphere and wonderful food.
I had the Ruben toasty, an oat latte and a delicious pistachio slice.

Great service, great location, great food - I couldn't recommend blackbird enough.

Great to have another great Cafe option open in Castlemaine. Wonderfully friendly and welcoming atmosphere and team. Beautiful, and spacious dining area including an outdoor courtyard suitable to bring your dog.

Shakshuka was absolutely divine (will be having that again). Blackbird breakfast was OK.

Thought I’d check this out being a new cafe in town. I was very surprised. Food was wonderful. Staff were so lovely. I can’t stomach most coffee but the coffee was exceptional and not like the burnt coffee you get elsewhere. Looking forward to coming back.

I love this cafe as the staff are thoughtful and fun. It is not a boring cafe.

You can buy a healthy vegan breakfast which also tastes good.

Loved this place, great food, great coffee, friendly service with a fun buzz atmosphere. There are heaps of separate eating areas within this charming old building as well as a cozy out door area.
But the best part, they are totally dog friendly not just outside but indoors also. No need to freeze on a chilly day.
Taking my little doggy next time.

Coffee absolutely top notch. Eggs Benedict was amazing. Very rustic and tastey. Love the decor inside also. Very spacious and bright/comforting.

The food is a huge improvement on when they first opened, the staff are lovely and the courtyard is so nice. Also very very dog-friendly.

Little caffeinated hidey hole on the corner of Hunter and Barkly. Well worth a stop. Beautiful locally baked sourdough treats to round it off.

Great ambience with fresh, well chosen mid-century decor and cosy rooms. Wood fire heater, and also courtyard. Excellent coffee and lunch was delicious and reasonably priced. Highly recommend.

They’ve only been open a week, but this place is lovely. A light and really friendly atmosphere that I would highly recommend for a cuppa, brunch or lunch. I wish them well and look forward to coming back next time I’m in town.

Lovely coffee, bright uplifting venue with staff and proprietors who make you feel welcome. A wonderful addition to the cafe landscape in Castlemaine.

Been to visit twice during my short stay in castlemaine - the food, friendly staff and atmosphere are awesome. Will certainly be back again!
