Not in the tourist traffic area so probably only locals frequent it
Home made lamb pie with the perfect salad
Prompt service and the deck outside was just a gem
Protected from wind the perfect spot
Looks like they do take home meals also!

We sat outside as the weather was lovely in the cute garden out the back.
Such a friendly bunch who work here!
We had the pie of the day (beef & red wine) a BLT and bowl of chips to share for lunch. All were very good - especially the pie!
The staff were busy bees attending to the steady flow of patrons, but not too much that they couldn’t have a little chat.
We will definitely keep The Dove Cafe in mind when we’re next in Castlemaine.

Excellent long black & very friendly customer service. Comfortable inside/outside seating in relatively quiet location. Plant boxes outside create pleasant atmosphere. Easy parking & relaxed vibe. Definitely worth a visit.

Went there today with my mum and sister. Ate outside which is probably not for those who own poodles, but we enjoyed it. The meals took a little while to arrive but they were well worth it. I had the beef burger and chips and it was fantastic! I had to deconstruct it because it was so huge. Everything about the meal was delicious. Both Mum and my sister felt the same. Staff were great. Will certainly be going back!!!

The coffee is always tasty, friendly staff and I just love the tranquil atmosphere siting out in the courtyard. It’s also my greyhounds favourite hang out, she falls asleep within minutes

We had a really pleasant lunch and they had frozen meals for take out. I enjoyed my meal so much that I took one home for dinner. Double joy. A great Cafe experience. PS. Barramundi is best grilled.

Good place. Vegetarian menu available. Really recommended. Came here for lunch after a long trip.

Super original and totally country feel and style

Great iced coffee and lovely atmosphere. Sitting outside near the beautiful tree it was a pleasure to sit in the big wicker chairs and enjoy the ambience. The staff are friendly too. They also use environmentally friendly straws now

Great location away from the main street, easy parking for a caravan. Coffee was great tasting, excellent creaming of the milk (extra star for lactose free milk) and no waiting. Cosy table area inside and nice looking garden area with seating for bigger groups.

Great food (lamb, feta, mushroom on flatbread was divine!) & fantastic service!! Place was packed, & we didn’t wait long at all for our food. Staff very efficient. It was a great find .... tucked away down a side street. Would highly recommend.

I get coffee at the Dove Cafe regularly always friendly and good coffee also the bacon and eggs muffins fabulous also the fruit muffins yum keep up the good work

Good lunch spot off the main drag in Castlemaine. We had nice homemade pies and salad, and the chai was the real deal.

Great coffee and the best apple slice ever. Reminded me of what my granny would make lovely chunks of apple.
