New Pelion Hut

New Pelion hut is one of a kind.. so many rooms and bunks. A fresh flowing river just a stones throw away and an amazing view out onto the Pelion plains and Mt Oakleigh. Bring earplugs.

The best hut on the Overland track with sweeping views across buttonholes moor to Mt Oakleigh. Huge surrounding veranda, separate bunk rooms and plenty of space for cooking/eating. Definitely the most comfortable stop along the trail.

Absolutely stunning at dusk. Watching the sun go down in the West is something else, especially after a hard days walk.

Visited rhia hut on many occasions. Multiple shared rooms. Superb views. Accessible from the Arm River track as well as the Overland Track. Great base for climbing Mt Ossa, Mt Oakleigh, Mts Pelion East and West and Mt Thetis.

Took the Arm River track in and was greated by increadibly friendly Park rangers upon arrival. Easy access to Mt Ossa and back, vibes are good all round. Definitely worth a look if you can't afford the Overland track.

A welcome sight after a long day. We have stayed there twice over the years. Once for the overland and once for the Arm River Track. Great facilities and a real joy to meet people from all over the world.

We regularly visit this hut on our Tasphoto Workshops Overland trips. Huge hut with plenty of room and one of the best views along the track.

This is a short side trip on the overland track, well worth doing.

Great mid way point on the Overland or a good spot to hike in and base from for day walks up Tassie peaks
