An amazing place for hikes. There is a shuttle bus service from the information centre to different locations that run every 15-20mins. Beautiful scenery and well established trails. Would definitely recommend and will be back again.

Awe inspiring views. It rained, hailed and snowed all within the 2hrs. The sun did come out as well. Bring a raincoat in case. We completed the 6km circuit in 2hrs and stopped off several times to take pictures. They recommend 2-3hrs. We managed to see wombats and bandicoots along the way.

The bus drivers are very friendly and Knowledgable.

Purchase your park pass and you can catch the bus to different locations to start your walk. It was about $52 for 2 adults which included the bus. There’s a small cafe which you can purchase snacks, pies, sausage rolls and drinks. There are toilet facilities at Dove lake and the information center.

This is a must-see whilst visiting Tasmania. If you have time, slow down and stay at least two nights to give you plenty of time to do the hikes and explore the mountain. The Dove Lake Circuit is lovely but note there are still many steps to climb (allow 2.5 - 3 hours to do this walk). If you are in a hurry, you could just head to the Boat Shed (10 minutes from start of walk) and then to head to Glacier Rock (another 10 minutes).

Absolutely stunning. Luckily had fantastic weather. Was only planning on doing the short walks, but 5 hours & two numb feet later, I was so stoked with how the day turned out. It's very easy to turn left instead of right and you are guaranteed to get rewarded for your efforts. The landscapes change in an instant. I saw all ages on the walks, but the steep parts ARE steep, with plenty of uneven ground. However, take your time, ask questions of the other hikers (always got some helpful info) and carry at least one big water bottle minimum.
Purchase a park pass ($26 for an adult), leave your car at the visitor centre and catch the shuttle that's available at all the stops every 15 minutes.
Also, I was lucky enough to see the quadfecta of animals; A wombat, echidna, snake (sleeping) and some wallabies.
Definitely factor Cradle mountain in when visiting Tassie.

Cradle Mt is just so beautiful!
Unfortunately, the shuttle bus is not operating when we were here. Anyway, looking forward to come back in the next Autumn. And definitely will go for a hike!
They said Marions lookout is one of the best summit, please do share your thoughts tyvm!

One of the must do visits in Tasmania, trails are when signpisted and gravelled but if you want to really challenge yourself just head upwards. High trails are steep, rocky with loose stone but brilliant

Our one-night stay at the hotel was absolutely fantastic! The staff at the concierge, bar, and restaurant were so attentive and friendly, providing us with seamless and top-notch service.

The vibe all around was fantastic, offering spots to hang out and have a blast with friends and family. Oh, and they even threw in a pool table for some extra fun! 🎱🎉

We had a blast at the dinner and breakfast buffet – it was a real culinary adventure! However, here's a little food for thought: the hotel could spice things up even more by expanding the Ă  la carte menu to make sure all our vegetarian pals feel just as pampered. 🍽🌱

What really stood out was that the hotel had EV charging available. Since we were cruising in a Tesla, this was a major help and convenience for us. 🔌🚗

Oh, and by the way, in the Cradle Mountain area, only Telstra and Optus seem to have mastered the art of mobile network coverage. So, we became best buddies with the hotel's WiFi, even though it played a bit hard to get in the quality department. 📶😕

Well, our bathroom also had a surprise guest – a spider! I guess that's just our forested hotel's way of saying, "Welcome to our cozy critter club!" 🕷

Overlooking these minor hiccups, we had a thoroughly enjoyable stay and may consider extending our visit for more days in the future.

Dramatic natural landscapes, easy hop on & hop off bus & toilets available. There is a cafe available near the car park but gets quite busy. Recommend arriving early before the crowd picks up.

Stunning mountain, vegetation is well preserved. The site can be packed with people during holiday season, but apart from that, it's difficult to see anything remotely close to this anywhere else in Australia.

The weather wasn't superb when we did the walk but at least we managed to capture a couple of rainbows along the way! There are plenty of walks available so you can do either according to your fitness level and the time you've got. The directions of each walk is pretty clear on their brochure and you can see signs almost everywhere so it's not easy to get lost. The tracks are pretty well maintained and you get to spot some wildlife along the way! Honestly one of the best in Tassie but it can get crowded on a good day.

What a majestic mountain and must-see Tasmanian attraction! The temperamental weather makes for many adventure opportunities. Over the years I've seen sunshine, rains, winds, snow and more sweep across Cradle. Always come prepared! There are plenty of ways to tailor your walking routes based on the conditions. The Dove Lake circuit is by far the easiest, but I love the view and challenge of Cradle, Marion's Lookout and Hanson's Peak. The last time I visited we were lucky to stay in Scout Hut. Definitely pack light for the Hut, and don't expect reception or wifi, but enjoy the smog covered surrounds as you sleep in the clouds! The information centre has been renovated in recent years and is great to stop by on your way up and down.

Went last week. Overcast day so didn't climb to the top. Walking tracks around the base were great. Scenic and pretty. Try not to wear too many layers, by the end of the dove lake track we were boiling. The boat house would have been good if there wasnt so many people standing around it. Toilets at the beginning of the dove lake walk where the shuttle drops you off. Don't miss the last shuttle, it can be busy. The smaller walks were also great, 2 days wasn't enough to explore everything.

Absolute heaven! It's beautiful in any season. Hiking, driving or just staying around, I have a great time whatever I do in this gorgeous place. You will surely fall in love with cradle mountain. Get the National park pass to get a ride in the bus. Hotels are quite expensive but worth your money to be there. Just go and explore yourself to know! Pack a jacket, you will need it in any season. 🧡🧡🧡🧡

A must visit when heading to Tasmania. There are so many tracks and trails to walk down that are just breath taking. You'll need at least a week to fully experience this wonderful location

We visited Cradle Mountain on two consecutive days - one was sunny, the next snowy! The staff at the visitor centre were super helpful and knowledgeable, and whilst we weren't able to explore further than Dove Lake due to weather (which is a great walk), we still had an excellent experience! The lower walks were also beautiful, worth doing. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Tasmania. Photos show two very different days, merely 24 hours apart!

This season of the year, I always like it very much. The walking tour is a bit challenging but worth a visit. On a snow-covered day, stroll to Pigeon Lake and enjoy a period of peace. To know the peak period here, but the crowd is moving. This sense of loneliness adds peace to this special place.
