Morgan and the team are fantastic at AFA!! I needed a gown for a Beauty Competition and right from my first consultation the ladies were passionate about what they do, giving helpful advice and feedback on the dresses and super generous with their time as I tried on a few. A Formal Affair has a lot of dresses ranging from petite to plus size and every colour in the rainbow. Finding a dress I liked was easier for that reason. They also have a lot of gowns suited to tall people (I am 6 foot and had a lot of options). I would say if you are looking for a dress that you are likely to feel MAGNIFICENT in, go straight to A Formal Affair in Alderly. They have a bridal sister store in Chermside too. Delighted with the dress we got for the school formal at A Formal Affair 👏 Kayla was a gem - nothing was too much trouble and she provided excellent service. They have a wide range of dresses and sizes. We went on a weekday at around 2pm and it was quiet, they were very welcoming and friendly - highly recommended 👍 Thank you! (and its air conditioned! ➕)

Loved my experience at this place, the ladies there were very helpful and welcoming. They didn't make us feel pressured into buying dresses while allowing us a wide range of options. They gave us honest feedback and helped me find a dress I completely loved and was within my price range. Would 100% recommend to friends, although if you want it to be less crowded it would be better to go earlier within the day.

The lady Nicola was amazing! She made sure I tried in every colour and every style, , nothing was too much for her to do. We went without appointment and they were happy to help me find a perfect dress!

Went on Sunday and the staff were great. I was helping my friends shop for their formal dresses and they were so sweet and attentive to them as well as helpful in telling alteration suggestions especially for my muslim friend that needed a more modest dress. Safe to say they both bought their dresses from here.

We love A Formal Affair. We have purchased dresses for 2 formals for my Daughter now and have had a great experience each time. Staff are always super helpful and there's a huge range of styles in store. Would recommend arriving at opening, particularly on the weekend as it gets very busy, very quickly!

A Formal Affair has the LARGEST range of dresses compared to any other dress shop in Brisbane. They have a huge range or colours, materials and sizes. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly, they are skilled in helping you choose which dress. After visiting so many dress shops to find my perfect one for formal, and thought I would have to settle for less, I found A Formal Affair. I cannot speak highly enough of this business and recommend to everyone.

I was struggling to find anything to wear to my daughters wedding on Sydney. I walked in and within 30 minutes had tried on 3 dresses, found one and had it sent to Sydney. Staff were unbelievable, helpful and onto the job straight away.

I went in for my formal. I had a look on the website and saw the dresses I really liked. I went in and they were super nice. I found the dress I liked and a dress I loved the colour of. I was so happy when I found out I could buy the dress I liked in the colour I loved. I bought the dress. First try in a store and they had the dress for me. Definitely look at this place. Their super nice. Will come again.

My bridesmaids and I had a lovely time in this store looking for their dresses. It was a very relaxed and friendly environment and the bridesmaid dresses had so many colours to choose from! The dresses we looked at were reasonably priced and beautiful. Highly recommend this store not only for bridesmaids but also formal dress shopping 😊

We visited this shop on a busy Saturday morning to look at bridesmaid dresses and decide on a colour scheme. Everyone was friendly and welcoming. We were served by Nicola and she was incredible! She was extremely helpful and patient, but what really stood out is how well she knew what she was doing. She pulled out dresses and fabrics to flatter each of our different shapes and sizes and showed us the swatches of colours that each style came in. We were all so impressed with your service Nicola. A huge thank you!

This store is fantastic! It has so many different styles and colours of dresses that there is something for everyone. The staff are so helpful. After trying several shops we hit the jackpot here! Our assistant Maddie was incredible! She was there every time we needed a dress done up or undone, so unobtrusive but so valuable for advice and assistance. She went above and beyond to make sure we found the perfect dress with the perfect fit. We said YES to the dress! Thank you A Formal Affair!

Love this store and all their staff! I bought my dress here and have gone there countless times helping my friends and other family members find dresses. The quality is incredible and they had lots of different options which I loved. The staff made me feel comfortable and like a GODDESS!! They were so lovely, honest and helpful. They didn't pressure me to buy a dress that was too expensive and really cared about my experience. I'm definitely going to go back there again in the future. Thanks! :D

We have had about 5 visits to this shop and shop owners and staff are always so incredibly lovely and helpful. You always feel special and never a burden. This is the only formal shop we were encouraged to take photos of dresses as we tried them on to help us with the big decision and to see what each dress looked like in photos. A great experience and although we don’t live close, it was worth the drive. I have recommended A Formal Affair to friends who have also had great experiences and bought their dresses there and I will continue to recommend them. Thank you so much to all of you!
