Good selection for product's as most japanese items are difficult to get in Australia. Especially when you are required to eat 1975 japanese diet for medical reasons.

Store packed with lots of very interesting foods and implements. The only thing that would have helped is more signs in English so I could know what they were. The person behind the counter was very welcoming. We were looking for seaweed and we found 3 different options.

This place is awesome for Japanese groceries. If you can't get it here then you going to Japan. Sells Japanese beer too.

So many great options. A nice range of alcohol, frozen foods, groceries, sauces, noodles etc.

Seasonal products are available too, last time I was there I was lucky enough to find myself a freshly made ichigo daifuku.

This is the best place on the north side of Brisbane for all of your Japanese grocery needs. The staff are super friendly and helpful. We love shopping here!

This is the best Japanese supermarket you'll find in Brisbane! So many great supplies for making genuine Japanese cuisine, plus heaps of sweets and alcohol too. It's almost as if I've been transported back to the wonderful country of Japan!

I haven't been to the Tarragindi store, but Alderley and the city store are my go to stores for their comprehensive range of Japanese cooking ingredients, as well as goodies like snacks, confectionary and fresh locally made cakes and desserts. A decent range of items from Korea and some other Asian countries too.

Genki Mart is small but perfectly formed. We were delighted to find it near by on the north side and managed to find every ingredient we were looking for; in most cases there were a couple of brands to choose from.

What made it an even better experience is the gentleman that served us (and I think owns it) was Japanese and was very helpful, friendly and polite. He not only helped me find the product I couldn't see but told me how to cook with it and ensure that I don't waste any.

For those people who don't like to ask for help or just want to browse, there are clear and very easy to read labels in English on all shelves. We noticed a fridge with meats but forgot to have a thorough look before we left and as we were walking it wasn't easy to go back with an already full backpack. We will definitely return again soon.

All the ingredients of a proper Japanese food store

This place has everything Japanesey and won't disappoint. Mostly authentic imports direct from Japan and some local fresh produce. Japanese cucumbers, shisho leaves, green tea cakes, huge variety of sweets and lollies, sake, beer, short grained rice, cod roe, flying fish roe, fish, natto etc etc. Great place to shop when you want genuine and authentic cuisine. Their current range of sake is growing and very impressive! Don't miss out on Yuzu pepper paste for your seafood dishes. Heavenly!

Super helpful staff and good selection of items on shelves. I wanted a takoyaki pan and a specific umeshu which unfortunately sold out at this store. Staff immediately called her manager up and then directed me to the other store which had exactly 1 more left of each item. They told me that it will be tomorrow that they can have it at the Alderley store (which I didn't expect) but I picked it up at the other location instead. Super grateful for such amazing service!

This is a wonderfully well stocked Japanese supermarket. They even have a small selection of second-hand Japanese books, which is the closest I've come to an actual Japanese bookstore in Brisbane. For that alone I would give them 6 stars if I could.

Amazing range of Japanese ingredients and snacks. Labels very easy to read and staff were helpful and able to locate all the items on my shopping list. Highly recommended.

Friendly staff - great vibe.

Perfect! I love everything about Genki Mart. Their products, prices and service are very, very good. The store is always clean, organised and well stocked.
They stock an excellent range of quality food groceries (fried tofu and Korean Butcher meats are standouts) and their range of skin care and shampoos is also very good.
My personal favourites are the Perfect Whip facial cleanser and all Shiseido shampoos. They are easily better than anything I have bought from salons or supermarkets.
